@wolfweed WOW! That’s so awesome.  Which episode? Are you in the article?

I’m wondering who here has heard of the Breakthrough Challenge? I wasn’t aware of it until today. It’s a contest where people try to explain a complex and difficult scientific concept with an engaging short film (3 mins max).

Anyway, full disclosure – this one was submitted in the junior section by my niece’s friend and I’m so impressed. I give…[Read more]

@jargon Did you start your stories? Send us the link  when you’ve finished

  • Conchobarre replied to the topic On The Sofa (9)

Yes @Missy. I totally get you. Capaldi is all awesomeness in my books and I’m really really sad to see him go (but excited about the new Doctor of course).

  • Conchobarre replied to the topic On The Sofa (9)

@Missy any of them. All of them. Ha!  Honestly – I adore DT and PC a little more than MS. But my kids differ. Doctors don’t seem to visit Australia too often though. I don’t think DT has ever been in Australia!

@Winston I envy you living in Canada. I think I would love it there. I bet you live somewhere beautiful.

At long last, I’ve met someone from Doctor Who. On Saturday we met Jenna Coleman and saw her panel at Oz Comicon.  She’s lovely.

Next on my bucket list – meeting a Doctor!

I bet there are a lot of interesting stories about meets from the members here.

  • Hi all

Is there a place around here for spinoff shows (other than Class)? I thought I saw Sarah Jane and Torchwood forums here, but I could be wrong.  I ask because I’ve finally started watching Torchwood Season 3 and I’m getting excited about how much better it seems than the first two seasons.

  • @missy  I thought I might get stuck into The Thick of It soon too. I need to get my Peter Capaldi fix somehow and I keep falling asleep during The  Musketeers.

I love this quote from Steven Moffat:

“I absolutely know the show will continue forever. This show will continue in whatever form the future holds for as long as people want stories. I believe that absolutely. Just as King Arthur keeps going and Robin Hood keeps going – Doctor Who will always be there. You take it off the air for sixteen yea…[Read more]

  • Hi all. I’m back here to my favourite Doctor Who space online for my 2 cents worth after having been demoralised by a lot of what is going on in other sites.

My first reaction to the news was being thrilled and a bit anxious. The anxiety was pre-empting all the angst and vitriole, but also about telling my two young sons who hero worship the…[Read more]

Thanks @wolfweed. .I’m a big big DW fan, but not enough to stay up until then! The challenge will be not to grab my phone during the night.

  • Conchobarre replied to the topic Dr Who News (4)

Can a Brit please tell me approximately what time the mens’ finals finish? I suspect it might be snoozing time here in Australia.

Hello friends.  I hope this isn’t against the forum rules, but I’ve been sucked into voting numerous times on the Drama Championship run by Radio Times. Annoyingly, Matt Smith has already been eliminated, but David Tennant is still in with a chance. I just want him to get to the next round and it’s very close. Here’s the link to Round…[Read more]

Am I the only one here who’s read the Doctor Who-Mr. Men mashup books that started coming out last month?  Because they’re pretty great.

Yes. We just got 1st, 11th and 12th.  Do you have 12th? Because I don’t understand the plot!

  • Conchobarre replied to the topic Dr Who News (4)

The Reddit Q&A was so fun! It was Missy answering rather than Michelle Gomez (or perhaps not…).

Definitely spoilerish questions, but nothing I didn’t already know from the British press.

I love her full name: Michelle May Romney Marsham Guacamole Chicken Pot-Pie Gomez

    Thanks Wolfweed.

I just went to the Big Finish website and I didn’t end up getting the Doctor and Rose, I downloaded the Doctor and Donna! It was only $13AUD and it’s my first ever audio Doctor Who, so I’m getting pretty firmly entrenched into the fan zone here.  I’ll probably end up with the new one as well.

I think the one I bought is half…[Read more]

Yes yes. I’ve been manically trying to find an authoritative version of this news but it’s only the British tabloids from what I can tell and they didn’t say it was confirmed.

Phew. Deep breaths. It’s ok. The more I thought about it the more I disliked the idea. The actor needs to be able to portray great age and having looked upon the untempered…[Read more]

Big news! And I heard it first from you Missy.

I don’t know how I feel about it…   If it has to be another white man, at least they could have given me a pretty boy.  A Doctor Who Youtube clip had me convinced it was going to be Tom Ellis. Now that would have put a smile on my dial.

I’m also a bit sad to not have Capaldi in the next Ch…[Read more]

I just read your comment @MissRori – yes I totally agree!

  • Conchobarre replied to the topic Dr Who News (4)

I would like to see Moffat bring back some of the Doctor’s fellow-travelers for the close of this Doctor’s career, and I doubt that he’ll be able to resist the temptation to do something like that.  After all, it’s Moffat’s finale, too, as a DW writer.

One of my favourite episode, towards the end of 10s episodes, is Stolen Earth/Journ…[Read more]
