<p>Casting my mind back bit, I think Brecht opposed a naturalistic &#8220;copying of reality&#8221; in favour of a very weird, unnatural sort of expressionism. He didn&#8217;t want to lull his audience into suspended disbelief. I like the idea that Time Lords have evolved the ability to just put their children to sleep when need be. Makes life a bit easier (although doesn&#8217;t stop them waking up again!) <p>I absolutely think there can (and probably will) be a female Doctor &#8211; I&#8217;m assuming that the show-runner is waiting for the right actress to come along and &#8216;be&#8217; the Doctor in the audition.<br />

<p>It looked unbelievable on the big screen.</p>
