That’s a surprisingly hard question! I suppose in a way you know he’s the doctor as he has to defeat some alien threat and that is generally what the doctor does. In other words he has to prove to everyone that he can be the doctor by defeating the monsters!

@winston Yes I do see the appeal of the tenth and Rose’s chemistry but I just can’t get it. Donna was brilliant though and I would have loved to see more of her (such a tragic ending!) and Sarah Jane is just great as for River to be honest I think she worked almost better with Capaldi than she did with Smith!

@winston Good point I forgot to mention that he was a good actor as well as writer and yeah I suppose he’s just to busy in the end although there is one plus side to him not becoming the show runner we can see him writing and acting in more than just Doctor Who because he doesn’t have the stress and workload of being head writer!

@missy Yeah good point and it’s always a good sign if it takes longer to write out the good ones! I think series 3, 5 and 8 are the only other ones from the new series that I can think of. Possibly series 1 as well!
