@bluesqueakpip what I sort of meant was that everyone’s grave must be somewhere in the future, which you could visit if you had a time machine. River’s grave being near the Doctor’s would be no surprise but that doesn’t mean she’d have had to have been dead when they had their conference call.

@inigo – while I’d love to give some ‘Clara has extra knowledge’ answer, I suspect it’s simply because Clara doesn’t believe in ghosts. And for someone who’s dead, River is being quite chatty.
