“My name is Clara Oswald. I had an accident, and I woke up in 1973. Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time? Whatever’s happened, it’s like I’ve landed on a different planet. Now, maybe if I can work out the reason, I can get home……oh bugger – wrong show!”.
Doctor – get your TARDIS repaired!
Doctor Who and the Interlude of Death
A little yellow roadster sped down the country lanes. Named Bessie by its owner, that enigmatic traveller in Time and Space known as the Doctor. Now in his third incarnation with a young-old face with a mane of white hair, the Doctor rubbed the back of his neck as he pondered his latest problem. On returning from Metabilis 3 he’d had a call from the Brigadier regarding a mysterious death in a welsh mine, and was driving at full pelt to meet him.
Suddenly he was startled away from his thoughts, as he swept around a curve in the road. A young woman had jumped from the bushes and was shouting something at him. Sweeping past her, he looked back at her in his side mirrors. She still seemed to be shouting. Was there something…. familiar about her? Was this a trap?!
Suddenly, the Doctor was fighting to regain control of Bessie as she seemed to judder over pot holes in the road. Regaining control he looked in the mirror again, the girl was running away, disappearing into the trees. The Doctor frowned “What the hell was that all about?” before putting his foot down and continuing on his way.
Lying in the road, his old adversary, The Master, groaned. The idiot had actually run him over! He painfully turned his head to view the TCE he’d intended to use on the Doctor and his ridiculous car. It was smashed to pieces. Painfully, he evaluated the extent of the damage. Broken bones, massive internal haemorrhage. He lay back, and concentrated, letting the warming glow of the regeneration cycle heal him, while keeping his form intact.
Healed, he struggled to his feet, and began brushing the tyre tread from his suit. Eight times something similar had happened in the last month! If things carried on like this he’d be out of lives! And what would he do then………
Doctor, Doctor – reverse. No, not the polarity of the neutron flow, I mean Bessie.
