    @carrieanne: Not only that but for just this one episode, that the Doctor’s pockets are bigger on the inside than the outside seems to have been completely forgotten.  In The Witch’s Familiar for heavens sake the Doctor apparently even is able to carry with him the ability to serve himself a cup of tea.

    @carrieanne

    The doctor put the sonics on when he got to the wall and he scanned it.  It was the only time we saw him use them, which I thought was weird since he could maybe have used them for something else?

    Whoever set up the Doctor’s “personal torture chamber” knew him intimately. So presumably knew enough to ensure that key elements,…[Read more]

    @juniperfish  The fault for anyone’s death always lies with the one (or those) who dealt it.

    I’d modify that: anyone (or those) who *intentionally and with malice* dealt it.  Intention, to my mind, is key.  Accidents do happen; that’s a hazard of the physical plane.

    @carrieanne  If my burbling here has given you more diverting ways of looki…[Read more]

    @juniperfish  the connection between the soul and the body, and the nature of the soul under Moffat are not clearly explicated (nor will it be, I am sure – why be definitive when you can play with such a deep mystery)

    Good reminder that this is also *play* — without which undertone, I think it could congeal into a turgid mess.  As for “sou…[Read more]

    Since you guys brought up the Nethersphere with Missy, how exactly was she able to be in the Nethersphere?

    For what it’s worth, the way I read it was that, since the Nethersphere was a virtual reality generated by the Gallifreyan hard drive slice, Missy within it was an avatar of herself, uploaded in the same way as the minds/souls of…[Read more]

    In the beginning of S9E2 Missy tells Clara about the time when the doctor was alone with a teleport bracelet in a castle-type and in the snippet he was wearing a white shirt with a red velvet long coat. At the end of ‘Face the Raven’ the doctor was teleported to a castle-type place with only a teleport bracelet and was wearing a white shirt with a…[Read more]

    A little love for Puro everyone, she is back in the hospital and needs our warm thoughts.  Remember, she was in pain when she wrote that post.  Puro loves the show and this Forum and I’m sure it’s eating at her to be part of any disruption or hurt here.  I think she is just taking a break here because of her illness and stress.  I’m sure she wil…[Read more]

    @carrieanne There were mini episodes before ‘A Good Man Goes to War’ were they were clearly lovers. I think he just recognised the name in the crib, realised it was River and his kiss kiss gesture was just to point out that he had snogged Amy and Rory’s kid, which he finds funny.

    @Carrieanne

    When the Doctor said he’d thought Clara was dead for a month, is it just coincidental that we have about a month of the show left? Perhaps Merlin actually is living his life backwards.  😉

  • janetteB replied to the topic The Zygon Inversion

    @carrieanne Yes we tended to be spoilt, firstly back when Who was originally aired in Oz it was shown four days a week and then in the intervening years we watched pre recorded episodes and would tend to watch an entire “story” usually of four episodes in one sitting. We would say, “one episode only” but those cliffhangers got the boys hooked…[Read more]

    Welcome, @carrieanne! I agree with you and others who don’t understand the dislike for Clara. Though I did find her underutilized when she first started out as a companion for Eleven. But she really came into her own last season, and this season has been brilliant. I am not looking forward to Clara’s departure, in whatever form it takes. I’m…[Read more]

    @carrieanne ‘A Christmas Carol’ is also one of my favourite episodes.  I love your assessment of the 11th, he was brilliant as the Doctor.  I’m also dreading Clara’s departure and have never understood why people didn’t like her as a companion.  She has been one of my favourites.  Donna!  I miss her and all her humour!  She was such a compl…[Read more]
