I wanted an older Doctor. He was brilliant in The Hour – well worth a watch in preparation for next year.

He certainly wouldn’t get away with that accent. I want something different and he’s got a wonderfully rakish grin.

@chickenelly  That would also allow for an incredibly stubborn and frugal nemesis of The Professor. The Doctor would never see that water bottle coming.

@Tiddler Over-enthusiasm leading to a lack of accuracy. Apologies. However, a shard and a sliver can both be broken pieces of something and there’s undoubtedly something broken about the Doctor, as well as the Claras.
