Hello everyone  all interesting posts…

I had a thought the other day, the writers of Dr Who scripts are mainly  men…I have not seen any female writers for the last few seasons of Dr Who (may not be correct here)… Not sure if this has been mentioned before but they wound not have much experience of writing a female Dr role if indeed Series 8 was already in the “bag” so to speak for male Dr leads..?

I am still of the opinion the role has already been cast…An unknown actor that just showed potentail with SM with no predetermined ideas of what actually they were looking for..

I am still sulking!!! Matt s leaving but also possibility of waiting a year or more for series eight?????

I am still of the opinion that the new dr will be an unknown and due to the nature of its commitments want be an older pews on. Just because dr who is such an international show nowadays it’s a young mans roles nowadays. Am I right in saying that Jlc has has the least time with a existing dr ? We only just began to see the chemistry between them in their roles

Despite all speculation I suspect the  actor taking over already knows. How can they be writing scripts without some forknowledge?

Another thought! Although i am not sure female Dr could work  at this moment in Dr Who.. I wonder if this has given further credit to Clara turning out to be the Dr in some bonkers theory idea? And all the casting is not for a new Dr but a new companion?

There was alot of posts on the NOTD thread about Clara/River/Doctor and Clara/Dr scenerios… But seeing as that thread went to 1000 plus posts i have not found the theories…

Well it had to happen! But a bit of a shock when i heard on radio last night. Our Matt is leving Dr Who.. and so soon!!! However, he has done his tenure well and i really do wish him luck… I had doubts to start with such an unknown but he has that real knack of acting much older then his years and that suits the role very well.

However, all this speculation, i have some ideas that new “Dr” are already being lined up and there is absolutely no way it can be someone we know well. The committment required for this show that takes over your life (apparently nine months of shooting) allows little room for someone who has already in the limelight.. What i want to see is a complete unknown again, Mr Moff has a great talent in finding such hidden gems, and i firmly believe that the show can “make an actor” and give a chance of a unknown actor to grown and move on to the future… I also think we should stuck with a fairly young actor mainly because of the companion and the way that it helps with the story line. I am not quite sure we are yet ready for a female doctor though…

Its a shame we have not really got to know Jenna LC in her role with Matt for longer, is this the shortest time a new companion has had with an existing Dr? We are not really sure of her character as it is with all this “impossible girl”…

There has to be some long term story arc for the new Dr and i wonder if there is still some hidden agenda.. If we see the fall of the 11th, then what does that leave the 12th? He has to have  a long term story arc to tell and maybe the 50 th will leave un answered questions that the new Dr can follow.. Otherwise we will loose the enjoyment of a long term story arc as with the 11th (Amy Pond/River and Clara and the fall of the 11th)… which i suppose we have now all just about seen… I do wonder what Moff has up his sleeve.. But beearing in mind that they have such a huge lead time on production and stories, they obviously knew about this some time ago and for all we know series 8 was always going to be for a new Dr…

 

So with a few teary eyes.. it was bound to happen and we will get to know another Dr.. but i think that Matt has left us alot to look back on and enjoy (and we do have the specials etc)…. He did his bit well and i just hope that the Moff does equally as well finding the next Dr…

This has been troubling me! After several re watches of TNOTD.. the few end scenes are are very quick and fast.. I havent got the actual words down but i am sure that one of you can put that right..

But when Dr bangs his head and says something about “its not about my name its about the promise, like YOU name  and the promise!

Something implying that Clara name has a promise! Sorry its not clear as mud but maybe someone can put me right that he was referring to himself  and not as well as Clara!

 

Alos does it not seem abit strange that in the last few scenes we see our Dr “My Clara!  as she walks towards him in the timestream…? Is this the only time he has mentioned “My Clara! I realise there may be abit of emotion going on here but that scene just makes me think of a Father and Daughter would say (or a Grandparent to Grandchild”)…

Now i am out for the day so will check on on my return (the big orange blob in our sky is actually wamr and sunny today!)

And can i say that this board has given me alot of fun this week with your bonkers ideas and theories! Its taken me around a week to catch up!

Really sorry if this has been posted upstream, but its taken me all week to go through the 900 odd posts here on this forum… !

A few ponderings

Can “sleep” refer to the sleep (or hibernate mode) on computers

Could Hurt Dr be 11th “Dad”…? Someone mentioned upstream that Hurt Dr could be son of 11th, but i could maybe see it the other way… So  son suffers the torment of knowing what father did! There is a lot of family values in Who… right and wrongs.

I love the idea that Dr/River begets Clara begets Sarah! (although only know a what i have read here about that character! 

I am still pondering on that devilishy intriguing “cot” not only referred to in “Good man” but also what Clara saw in the the centre of the Tardis..? The end scene of that esp in series 6 had alot of hanging threads that could easily be picked up..

 

Makes total sense to do superb back story of the Time War with the big screen budget and all that. (although personally i havent managed to get on with 3D (makes me all fuzzy eyed) still i suppose an opportunity to see in 2D..! After all the story/script is the important issue..

When i have actually got through all 900 posts i will not know what to do with all the time! I must say that you are all very clever people and i have really enjoyed the forum fantastic bonkers theories.. i wonder if its time to put a few of them in list of crazyness..(or equally) a list of what the evidence shows us….

Hello all, New to this Forum from the G Blog…. I must say you have all given me some much enjoyment reading through all the posts upthread (only on page 4 or so)… and those theories get wider by the day.. My evenings are spent not watching telly but reading through posts..

I loved this esp a great deal but just want to say that that “leaf” is giving me some concern.. Does anyone remember in “A Good Man goes to War” that a leaf was the subject of much speculation as to having the name of River on it (when translated)… and did not that “cot” have script on it that could not be translated.. I have notviewed the esp for a while, but i wonder if has some relevance wo what we are viewing now. and thatthought of “Gamma Forest” where River spent her teenage years is also something that we can ponder.

I still think there is some “story” to tell with River if a script comes up that can deal with her now “echo” existance… Certaintly the idea of where actually (or when” River was told the Dr name is something to digest…

I really do not know how the writers are going to put more depth into Clara backstory, she want be a very interesting character if she never seems to “die” and pops up all the time to “save the Dr”… So maybe there is further development with regard to Clara… we have after all only seen the set up for the 5oth.

And although this may of been said upstream the Time War has been mentioned alot of the very, very bad thing that Hurt Dr did.. But i think that is far to obvious…We are missing something worse… did not our Dr blow up the Cyberman planet or something at the beginning of “A good man goes to war” and challenged the captain with that speech of ruthlesness.. He was  on the verge of dark there… maybe something to do with the literal meaning of “Doctor2 to do no harm?

Anyhow just a few wild thoughts, some of you seem to be masterful at the theories.. … I do hope that SM does read some of the forums posts on Who… When i look back on this esp i especially loved the tidying up of a three part series arc (but obviously not everything).. it must be such a greta job to b

e able to follow through on such ideas and it takes some to think them all up and keep us guessing.. but as in all things sometimes the simple ideas are the best..
