It is gender for me. The Doctor, should ba a male in my opinion.
However, if it was absolutely necessary to have a female Doctor, Lara Pulva is a great choice.I see you are also a Sherlock admirer – meet another one. *grins*

No I haven’t heard of Doomwatch, but we in Australia by then, and of course no BBC plays and stories.
This is really going back a bit, but does anyone remember “The Man in Black?” Valentine Dyall read them.
