@janetteB well they all have Ginger hair, so they must be Amy. I ablolutley love Lego but I have to admit these figures look pretty bad. The characters barely even resemble what their supposed to be. The older character options stuff was perfectly fine, why do we even need Lego Doctor Who.

By the way it’s actually @TheKrynoidMan

@Wolfweed does anyone else find it strange that there are 3 mini figures of Amy in that picture? surely they could have included 2 other characters instead? Although quite amusingly the one on the top left looks like a panda.

@blenkinsopthebrave That’s the one, cheers mate.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. I remember watching a kids TV series several years ago about a town entirely populated by ducks, ecxept for the main guys best mate who was a crocodile. It was on Cartoon Network in the UK and was a CG animation. Does anyone know what it’s called?

@Bluesqueakpip Fair enough, although I personally hate the “it’s for kids” argument as I feel it’s just used as an excuse for lazy script writing (but that’s a rant for another time).

@purofilion, @FatManInABox, @Bluesqueakpip I realise and agree that the story was about Rose and her reaction to seeing the universe for the first time, but the point I was trying to make, admittedly I didn’t do it very well, was that if the episode have a mystery sub plot, it could at least have some element of mystery to it. It’s fine if you…[Read more]

@FatManInABox RTD making the villain intentionally obvious is actually worse. It makes the Doctor look like an idiot for not guessing who it is. It would be fine if it played out like an episode of Columbo where you see the crime happen and the suspense comes from the Doctor catching them out, but it doesn’t, it plays like a standard detective…[Read more]

I thought it was alright when I first saw it but looking at it now it’s not very good. It fails as a mystery because it’s obvious who the bad guy is, and it fails as a comedy because it’s not funny (well some of Eccelston’s lines were funny). I do like the ending though, The Doctors speech is very poinient. The effects were fantastic for the time too.

Choose life

@blenkinsopthebrave I too love the 1981 adaptation of Day of the Triffids. In fact I have previously suggested we watch that next.

I remember seeing a billboard with a poster for the first series about a week before this episode aired. My first thought was “great Doctor Who’s coming back” and my second was “wait he’s wearing a leather jacket? Doctor Who doesn’t wear a leather jacket!”. I didn’t really have much interest in watching it after that, but I thought I’d give it a…[Read more]

Here’s a video tribute I made for the Third Doctor a made a couple of years ago although I didn’t get around to putting it online until recently

Has anyone noticed that the music from Dragonheart and Bean sound the same in some places

@MonochromeDimension
Check it out it’s a great film.

@Arbutus
Duck, You Sucker was the original title but it was changed to Fistful in some territories to cash in on the Dollars trilogy. It was also called Once Upon a Time the Revolution in France.

I absolutely love the film scores of Ennio Morricone, particularly the ones for the Sergio Leone westerns. Here’s a track from the unfairly overlooked Duck, You Sucker/A Fistful of Dynamite

Might I suggest watching the 1981 BBC adaptation of Day of the Triffids after we’ve finished Quatermass.

Philip Seymor Hoffman was found dead today.
