Good theory! The Doctor aka John Smith would have liked the stars in the poem.

Sometimes DW leaves me with far more questions than answers, and the thing under the bed was one of them. And who is Orson? Maybe we will get answers someday but till then it’s bonkers theories.

I try to tell myself ,like the Doctor , that it is fun not to know.

There was  some cheering here in our huose when the election results started coming in. I will even admit to a happy dance.  Although my riding stayed conservative we still have a new Prime Minister.Ten years was a long time to put up with Harper. Now we can take a deep breath and turn Canada back  into the country…[Read more]

In Canada we go to the polls tomorrow in a federal election to vote for a Prime Minister,  so have a great election day, all my fellow Canadians.

Doctor Who could have been sponsored by Bell. ” a telephone wherever you need it” Or the first “mobile phone”.

Having watched a second time I get the same feeling about the Doctor accepting Clara’s death. When the doctor is talking to Clara about losing her  and how hard that would be, she never contradicts him or assures him of her lasting companionship. She only says again that he did his best and saved many other people.

    After seeing…[Read more]

    I definately need a rewatch.

I really liked this episode. It was funny but with a serious undercurrent. Great dialog and acting as usual.I don’t have any theories better than what I’ve read just a feeling that something big is a commin’.

Seeing CapDoc finnally figure out where his face came from was mint.At least one thing has been cleared up…I think. I also have a feeling…[Read more]

Here in Canada my grandson plays football and granddaughter plays soccer. Football as in the American game but to confuse us even more we have different rules than the American game.

The 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctors were the men who had burned Gallifrey and they were filled with guilt and regret over what they had to do. they were sad and lonely and its no wonder they reached out for the companionship of his faves-humans. They tryed to save people everywhere and they cared too much.People still died many in the Doctors…[Read more]

Your apt description of the 11th has made me miss Matt Smith all over again. Thank goodness for DVDs.

    @purofilion

My son felt the same but I like a bit of romance now and then ,although it was getting out of hand ,after all he is a Time Lord and a very old man. I was pleased with the way Rose’s story ended with her having her own Doctor who would grow old with her and that was probably enough of that.

I should say that I love Canada and I think it is the best country in the world. I am biased though ……cause I live here. It’s a great place to live, even in the winter. Looking out the window at a sparkling white world after the first big snow is a sight I never get tired of. And we always have a white Christmas, at least where I live. My…[Read more]

@purofilion @janetteb   I so wish I could afford a trip to Australia. It seems so exotic and frankly warm compared to Canada. Especially winters here brrrr! As a lifelong birder I also envy you your beautiful tropical birds. And lets not get started on marsupials.

Anyway I think one of the reasons DW is so popular is because it means so many d…[Read more]

@janetteb   I also really liked chris Eccleston and not hearing any news back then was completely shocked when he regenerated into David Tennant. Somehow although asleep through most of The Christmas Invasion by the end of the episode he was The Doctor. Great writing and acting.

  • winston replied to the topic Doctor Who memories

I go into regeneration shock every time the Doctor changes. Each time I think  “I don’t like him” and each time by the end of his first episode I do. Different face- same Doctor.  CapDoc  reminds us that he is a 2000+ year old Time Lord even if he is a madman in a blue box. I like this mysterious ,funny, crusty Doctor.

I have now had a second look at the episode and feel I understand the loop a bit better. The intro was even better the second time. Why not have a guitar playing Doctor after all we did have the 2nd Doctor with his recorder.

I have the feeling that when the Doctor is talking to Clara about accepting death and letting go he is actually trying to…[Read more]

@missy I certainly wait with great excitement for some new Sherlock. It is such a good re-interpretation of an old favourite of mine. It is near perfect television imo. I also where a big goofy grin at the thought.
