@dentarthurdent @janetteb Thanks for the well wishes. Day 6 and still in bed most of the day but today I feel a bit more human. Cons- can’t move without help, missing the tulips and daffodils, can’t bath except from a bowl, mister Winston does not know where anything is, pain, boredom… more to come. Pros – I can watch old Who all I want, eat…[Read more]

@ps1l0v3y0u Oh the music of the 70s, the ridiculous and the sublime.  I think if you can’t be traditionally good then you better be strange or interesting.

My younger sister loved the Bay City Rollers as only a 12 year could and her bedroom here in Canada had more tartan than a Highland Games.

    Mind you I can’t say anything because at 12 I was…[Read more]

When I was growing up in the 70s I listened to the Carpenters and I think Karen had a beautiful mellow voice and could sing anything and everything. They were not popular with my Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Alice Cooper loving friends because they were far too cool for “silly love songs” but they didn’t know…[Read more]

How does the Tardis stay clean? If it is self cleaning I want that technology. If it is a cleaner then they are not payed enough.

    @nerys @dentarthurdent @ps1l0v3y0u

The new Tardis looks great but I wouldn’t want to clean it! 😉

I could happily live in the Tardis library without the scary burnt guys of course.

@nerys  @dentarthurdent  I will have to wait until the new series comes to the library unless my lovely Whovian children get the DVDs for me. I watched the 3 specials but not the Xmas episode so I haven’t met Ruby Sunday yet but the actress was great on Coronation Street.

The Tardis looks very futuristic and huge! I don’t know if I like it or n…[Read more]

@nerys I agree with you about the trailer,it does look exciting. New enemies for a new Doctor. The new Doctor looks like he can do a lot of running down corridors! He will need all that energy from the looks of the trailer. I am very excited about the new series.

@blenkinsopthebrave  That news makes me feel sad. Maybe I just don’t like change. I am getting used to having to wait for many of my favourite shows to come to the library or DVDs because I can’t afford the many streaming services I need to watch them. Still Doctor Who and the BBC go together like tea and biscuits. I must be getting old.

@blenkinsopthebrave Now that is some good news! RTD and Moffatt together again, what could be better.

@ps1l0v3y0u  Mmmm pineapple pizza, now I am hungry.

  • winston replied to the topic The Winchester

@dentarthurdent That is a very tough bird. Your recipe gave me and the mister a giggle. There are a lot of edible critters near us but I gave up eating all creatures about 30 years ago . I think they like that.

@dentarthurdent I totally agree with you about living near water, I love it. The creek is surrounded by miles of wetlands that are like an animal and bird nursery. There is always some kind of life going past us. Today it was Canada Geese and a muskrat who lives in the creek bank out back. Your poor sounds cool and I will look him up next.

@ps1l0v3y0u  and @nerys There is a saying that there is no such thing as a bad pizza and I always thought the same about Who.  I am a very forgiving fan and usually find something I like in every episode but many of 13s leave me feeling baffled. What is wrong and why don’t I love it as much? I can’t put my finger on it but it didn’t work for me. I…[Read more]

@janetteb Blackadder is a family favourite here. My son was quoting from episodes by the time he was 10. He even named his cat Baldric. I must have a look at them again.

We have to go about 18 hours to the east coast to find a beach or 6 days west to swim in the Pacific. Somehow a lake beach is not the same as sitting at the ocean but still nice…[Read more]

@janetteb I am sorry to see the fires burning in parts of your country. I hope you are all well. The world seems to be burning except for where it is flooding. We already have fires burning in Canada and it is still winter but such a dry season I think it will be very bad here this summer.

Otherwise I hope that all is going well with…[Read more]

@vickymallard I really liked the ninth Doctor but he is a little rusty when dealing with us mere humans. He has been on his own for too long and of course he is an alien. This must have been a really shocking experience for Rose what with all those aliens and the end of earth but she handles it pretty well.

I liked the tree people and Cassandras…[Read more]

@vickymallard One of my favourite things about Rose is the music. It brings me back again and again.  This was my first episode and it started an almost 20 year long addiction to Doctor Who. I wish the Doctor would wipe my memory so I could watch them all over again for the first time. I think the ninth Doctor is mad and bad and a little cheeky.…[Read more]

@dentarthurdent   Thanks for the help. I have seen so many people lose stuff on lost or broken phones and computers that I have always kept paper, disc and copies on external drives. @dentarthurdent and @janetteb  The PC nightmare continues and I am still using my tiny tablet. I ordered and got a new tower but after I set it up it flatlined! It has been sent back already and I have a headache. First order from Amazon and it was a lemon. They did take it back so I was happy about that.

There was nothing of importance on it as…[Read more]
