Apologies for the multiple posts above, apparently I was getting chucked in the spam folder; Craig very kindly dragged me out of it this morning!

I watched this episode last night and liked it better than the previous ones. I agree that the Pting was a bit too cute, it reminded me of a piglet and I do love little piggies! Was Chris Chibnall thinking of T’Pau when he came up with the name? I liked the way it was sent off into space quite happy.

I noticed the less ostentatious use of the sonic without the big arm swing, much better! I also quite liked the idea with Yoss of men giving birth to boys and women giving birth to girls, but gave up trying to work out how that actually works biologically.

It was a shame that Ronan was going to be de-commissioned, he would make a good companion at some point in the future, an unemotional character to contrast with the current Doc.

Looks like we could be in for another pc episode next.

Perhaps I haven’t noticed it so much! I didn’t think it was every time with others Doctors, and there are times it needs to be wielded discreetly.

Maybe it’s just because I’m not really seeing JW as the Doctor. I remember when Matt Smith took over and I knew David Tennant was going to be a tough act to follow. Within a few minutes of the start of his first episode I thought “he’s got it!” I don’t have that feeling now unfortunately.

I agree with Whisht, I’m not really getting into this series. All the pc preaching, and then to put all those spiders in a sealed room to die a slow death, probably eating each other, was far more cruel than killing them quickly; and we didn’t find out what happened to all the other spiders all over the city. I know they would have eventually died from growing too big, but they could have seen off quite a few victims in the mean time!

As for the Rosa episode, I’m sure the protest would have happened another day; it wasn’t absolutely essential for it to take place on that specific day.

They’ve obviously thrown a lot of money at it, with sets and big name guest stars, yet older series with far lower budgets managed to deliver the thrills which are lacking now; and I’m sure some of the older crews would have spotted the single shadow mistake in The Ghost Monument too!

I’m not totally against JW, although I think a female actor with a bit more character may have been better (personally I think Rebecca Front would have been quite good) but I am getting a bit tired of the sonic screwdriver pose with the big arm swing!

I think it’s a great theory, unfortunately probably better than anything the writers will come up with!

I tried twice to post yesterday, my posts just disappeared. The problem must be sorted out now.

Apologies if this appears twice, I tried to post just now and it disappeared.

Kevin, that’s a very interesting theory but I have a feeling the finale won’t be that good unfortunately!

I’m not getting into the new series as much as usual, I haven’t seen the fourth episode yet but the stories don’t seem to be that gripping and I’m getting a little fed up with the ostentatious sonic screwdriver posing.

At the moment I’m not getting into it as much as usual, not because of Jodie but because of the writing. I’m just not finding the stories very gripping, although I haven’t seen the fourth episode yet.

Having said that though, I am getting a bit fed up with the ostentatious sonic screwdriver posing!

They probably blew the CGI budget on all the spaceship sequences! I think the shadows should have been a bit fuzzy as the light from the other suns would have encroached on each one.

Didn’t notice it in Star Wars I must say!

Pardon me if anyone has already mentioned this; I only got time to watch this episode last night. The planet they were on had 3 suns, yet everything only had one shadow! It would have been quite easy to put in the extra shadows with cgi, and someone (Ryan, Yasmin or Graham) would have looked down and said “Wow, we’ve got 3 shadows!”
