A friend in a Doctor Who group asked for some jokes to cheer him up. In a moment of inspiration, I started free-flowing and creating this! It’s a take off of Who’s on First? by Abbott and Costello. The following is a cut and paste of that, editing out typos. ‘ ‘ is Person 1, ” ” is Person 2.
‘There’s so many great Doctors in comic books and sci-fi! What’s the name of your favorite Doctor?’
“Who.”
‘Your favorite Doctor.’
“Who.”
‘No, what is the name of your favorite Doctor!?’
“”Who!”
‘That’s what I’m asking you! You’re saying your favorite Doctor is…Who?’
“Yes.”
‘Huh?’
“You answered the question.”
‘Who’s your favorite Doctor?’
“Yes.”
‘Who?’
“My favorite Doctor.”
‘That’s what I’m asking! Okay, your favorite Doctor is Doctor Yes?’
“No.”
‘But you just said…’
“I like Doctor No, but he’s not my favorite Doctor”
‘You like No, but not your favorite?’
“”Yes.”
‘Who’s your favorite Doctor?’
“Who.”
‘Your favorite Doctor!’
“Who.”
‘The one that’s not Doctor No!’
“Yes.”
‘So your favorite is Doctor Yes?’
“No, Who.”
‘THAT’S WHAT I’M ASKING YOU!!! Okay, I know Doctor No is one you like, but not your favorite. What’s the name of another Doctor you like?’
“”Manhattan. ”
‘What?’
“Manhattan.”
‘A Doctor you like is in Manhattan?’
“No.”
‘What’s his name?’
“Manhattan.”
‘Who’s in Manhattan?’
“Not any more, he lost Amy and Rory there.”
‘Who did?’
“Yes.”
‘Who lost someone in Manhattan?’
“Yes.”
‘So you like Doctor Yes?’
“No.”
‘I’m not asking about Doctor No! Who’s in Manhattan?’
“Not any more.”
‘Wait…there’s a Doctor Not Anymore in Manhattan?’
“No, that’s silly.”

‘Okay, what do you call your favorite Doctor?’

“The Doctor.”
‘Yeah, your favorite. ‘
“The Doctor.”
‘Right! Who is The Doctor?’
“Yes, that’s the question.”
‘Huh?’
“The question is Doctor Who?”
‘That’s what I’ve been asking! Okay…Who’s your favorite Doctor?’
“Yes.”
‘So he’s Doctor Yes?’
“No.”
‘But you like Doctor No.’
“Yes. ”
‘Doctor No is your number 2. Who’s your number 3?’
“No, he’s number 1.”
‘I’m not asking you Who’s number 1 right now!’
“No, that was your first question, and you just answered it.”
‘What? When?’
“A second ago.”
‘Who did I say was your number one?’
“Yes.”
‘So he’s Doctor Yes?’
“No.”
‘I’m not asking about Doctor No! I asked who was your number 3?’
“Manhattan, Who is my number one.’
‘Aha! So your favorite is is called The Doctor in Manhattan!’
“No, not since he lost Amy and Rory.”
‘Who!??’
“Yes.”
‘Who is The Doctor?’
“That’s the question.”
‘The Question!?? What the hell does a faceless detective have to do with this? He’s not a doctor, and he has nothing to do with Manhattan!’
“You’re getting off topic.”
‘I’m gonna kick you in the nuts soooo hard…’
“No need to be violent, you asked the question, I answered the question, then you answered the question. Your last question went off-topic.”
‘So…The Question is not a Doctor?’
“Yes.”
‘The Question IS a Doctor?’
“No.”
‘So…who is The Doctor you mentioned?’
“That is the question.”
‘You just said The Question isn’t a Doctor.’
“Yes.”
‘But, when I asked you who is The Doctor, you said that’s The Question.’
“Yes.”
‘So, The Question is also Doctor Yes?’
“No, that’s silly.”
‘Then WHO is THE DOCTOR!??’
“That is the question.”
‘See? Now you’re calling him Doctor Question!’
“No, there IS No Doctor Question, but the question is, Who is The Doctor?”
‘THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN ASKING!! Okay, I’m gonna lose it. You’re not making any sense, and you’re ticking me off!’
“I’m not trying to upset you! You got it right, retrace your steps.”
‘Okay…your number 2 is Doctor No, and your number 3 is Manhattan, and your number 1 is Who went there, and lost Amy and Rory.
“Yes.”
‘So your favorite Doctor, who you call The Doctor, doesn’t have anything to do with Manhattan anymore.’
“Yes.”
‘Hold on, there is no Doctor Yes, there’s only the question of Who is The Doctor, and he has nothing to do with The Question!’
“You’ve got it!”
‘…..I don’t even understand what I said! I’m sorry I asked who your favorite Doctor is, I feel like I need one! My blood pressure’s up, I feel sick, and if I get a stress headache, it’ll be your doom!’
“What did you just say?”
‘DOOM!!’
“Oh, that’s my number 4 favorite!”
‘AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!’

I’m happy to say that my videos are coming up on searches again. Thanks to all who watched my videos, or saw my posts, and are spreading the word.

I’m not sure where else to post this to, but I suppose Spoilers may be the best description. Let me start at the beginning.  And what I’m about to tell you is absolutely true.

 

I’ve been a lifelong fan of the show, definite Whovian. I’ve made theory videos in the past I haven’t always been right, but I tried. At least most of my thoughts were somewhat original. A couple weeks ago, I made a video theory about the identity of Missy. In short, I think she’s the new host body of the Great Intelligence. You can see more here.

 

A week later, I noticed the video used to come up along with everyone else’s, when you typed a YouTube search for Doctor Who and Missy. Suddenly, it wasn’t. It was still on my channel, but you couldn’t find it in a broad search. This was limited at the time to Youtube apps, later on the pc as well. I made a video telling about it here.

After making this video, access to the original video was blocked from me. I couldn’t reply to comments, nor make new comments on only that single video! I wrote to Chris Hardwick of The Nerdist, as well as a journalist from The Telegraph. The next day, after sharing my video with friends, my videos were coming back up on searches. It had become so bizarre, a friend of mine coined the term Whominati, and made a video about it.  Here’s a link if you’re interested.

The most bizarre part is, at the same time he recorded that one, I made a new video titled Doctor Who, YouTube and Censorship. The reason I mention it is now, that single video seems to be blocked from a broad search, after I posted it a week ago. Here’s the link.

Ladies and gentlemen, I post this because of a great fear and revelation that I feel as a fan of Doctor Who, and feel everyone must know. It’s too specific and coincidental to be a glitch. It appears my videos were, and are being censored from general searches at this time. Typing in Doctor Who and Censorship used to pull my video straight up, now it’s not found. We all know Steven Moffat watches YouTube videos made by fans, the man who made this season’s opening titles was discovered there. I, on the other hand, am a fan, making theories and guesses, just like you. My fear is, what if I may have guessed right, and what if Moffat or execs from Doctor Who and the BBC persuaded YouTube to censor my videos from searches, for fear of the ramifications? I’ve done nothing wrong, not violated copyrights, nor done anything illegal. If my video was deleted outright, it would be a definitive sign that I was right. But what if my guess is too close for comfort, and my video is being censored?

Imagine the ramifications. We all dream of being part of Doctor Who. But let’s say you guess right about a major plot point to be revealed, and instead of getting a job offer, your video is censored, blocked and hidden from views until the reveal. One person can be rewarded for sharing their love of Doctor Who, while another is punished for theirs. We as fans are the life’s blood of the show. When we talk about it or cosplay, we’re free advertisement for the show. But what if that same fandom could gain the wrong attention, and fans like us can be shunned, silenced or punished, simply being somewhere between a fan’s detective work, and a lucky guess?

This is real. It’s happening now. If I weren’t living it, I’d chalk it up to a Creepypasta. But folks, this is real. Someone is afraid of the information I’ve posted getting out, and is hiding it. Only after making enough noise did my Missy theory video reappear. I’m hoping to do the same with my video about Doctor Who and censorship. Please check out the links, and spread the word.
