@theprettyreckless @MeadowRose @ConfusedPolarity
Welcome (and to anyone else who has signed in recently I’ve not mentioned – been away for a few days so still catching up). Plenty of room on the Sofa @ConfusedPolarity. We can always knock a wall through if required.
There are quite a few Hartnell stories I really enjoy for…[Read more]

@monochromedimension I love British accents, they sound amazing. Some people think Australian accents are nice but I don’t even think it’s even an accent really. Whenever I’m saying something ‘timey-wimey’ to one of my friends I always tend to pur on an accent very similar to Mr. Matt Smith. Especially when we’re debating on which levers to pull…[Read more]

Harrumph!!
a disused yeti???!!!!!
Its very much IN use I’ll have you know. Been on the run since that pesky second Doctor… 😉
I’d say it was definitely intended that that was the original Rassilon – there’s not that many Time Lords who have that much power, megalomania etc. But it’s interesting to speculate on the…[Read more]

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Dont worry, you can watch the new series before you watch the classic series, as long as you still watch the classic series eventually (which you seem to be doing). I hate it when people only watch the new series, it would be fine if they watched a couple of classic episodes and felt that it just wasn’t for…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Excellent, thank you! Â I may start working on collecting them while watching NuWho. There is absolutely nothing wrong with watching episodes randomly but I’m one of those crazies who divides my M&Ms by colour and then eats them alphabetically….so needless to say, I’d also aim to watch the show in some kind of order. Sad…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Yes, I think so. Â Though that does raise a question that no doubt you can help with….do you need to watch the show from the very beginning (First Doctor) to really understand what’s going on (I realize some of the shows from very early days are missing) or does NuWho have it’s own story arc?
Yes, I really enjoyed the…[Read more]

@monochromedimension – Thank you! Â There’s a wealth of information and ideas on here and I’m really looking forward to participating!
Yes, come to think of it, I likely watched mostly re-runs as well. A few of the other Doctors looked strangely familiar 😀

@monochromedimension – hey that’s great!
I also can’t figure out whether my earliest memories were re-runs of Pertwee (though I’m just old enough to remember him, so I probably was sitting near enough to my dad’s knee for safety).In terms of Faces – perhaps you need a Faces of the Daleks thread?!?
😉
and completist – probably (but is that so bad??)

Re the DVDs… I’ll be the first to admit that there’s no substitute for having the Classic DVDs themselves all lined up on the shelf!

Hi @monochromedimension – I was curious if you wanted to post something on either the Memories thread or Faces thread as to your preference of the Classic Drs – Troughton and Hartnell in particular.
I was just wondering as many here who mention their love of them, do so as they saw them first time round and unless you have a time machine I’m…[Read more]

@monochromedimension welcome and if your a fan of old who then I recommend you go on youtube and look up “Time Crash” it’s a very good minisode where The Fifth Doctor and The Tenth Doctor share a one scene story that mainly involves Tennant “fan-girlying” over his father in law’s Doctor.
