I want to know, why was only present day changed, because if the Doctor died on that Christmas a lot worse would happen, the Pyrovile would have took over from Pompeii, the Carrionites would have took over Shakespearean England, the Daleks would have an army of Dalek-Human hybrids. And that is the only ones I remember from the top of my head, it would mean the Earth would most likely not even survive as it is for Donna to Turn Right. Wouldn’t that mean a paradox would be created? Or did the Trickster’s insect manage to isolate Donna’s timeline so it would not effect the past?

I love this episode, but there is one thing I find worth pointing out that I’m surprised not many people picked up on, when asking the Atraxi, “Is this world protected?”. They show scenes from episodes that do not happen on Earth, like the Cybermen from the Parallel Earth in Age of Steel and Rise of the Cybermen; the Ood from the Satan Pit, Impossible Planet and Planet of the Ood; the Hath from the Doctor’s Daughter; the Vashta Nerada from the Forest of the Dead and Silence in the Library. They are still great scenes, but if they searched the World for these, how can it see things that happen in the future and not even on the world?

I was rewatching the new seasons, (just starting Season 3), and suddenly realised something that, I was probably too emotional at the first time to see, and that is, Rose could’ve stayed with the Doctor, in fact all of them could, this revolves from two points A) TARDIS went through the void but didn’t get sent in, and B) Jackie doesn’t have any  Void “Stuff” on her. This is a big plot hole, which I think needs a bit explaining, as I think the Doctor would have thought of this, my theory on how they could stay is: The Doctor sends Pete, Mickey and Rose to the TARDIS, which doesn’t get sucked in, and then he, and Jackie, who didn’t have any void stuff on her, stay to plug up the breach, and when it’s plugged they can get Rose and the others out of the TARDIS, and continue from there.

Just to make it clear, I still like the story, and how it goes on from there, but I would like someone to explain why he never thought of this, or give some ideas.
