• WhoGirl replied to the topic Death in Heaven

A little late in posting, but have finally got round to it.

After the episode there was only one thing to say: “Permission to SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!”
Enjoyed it very much, after the second time of watching. (The first viewing was spent trying to such it all in and anticipating the end…)

Very touching tribute to the Brigadier, and nice to see Kate…[Read more]

I like the idea that Clara was pregnant, and she was trying to tell Danny. This would explain how he has an identical ancestor astronaut whom she met earlier in the series. But then I also like the idea that perhaps she has three months to live and we will lose a companion in a cruel twist of fate that not even the Doctor could have forseen. But…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Dark Water

Well, what to say that hasn’t already been said! Very much enjoyed this episode, and like a lot of people was left saying: “Nooo! I need to see the next one NOW!” Enjoyed the jokes that broke the tension: Angry Scottish people and football, superb. And the little reference to PC in ‘The Thick of It’, excellent.

As soon as Doctor Chang put his…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic In the Forest of the Night

I don’t like to complain about my favourite programme, but I felt like that was one of the most disappointing DW episodes I have seen. I liked the set up, London covered in trees, (kudos to the special effects team for that) and the threat of things living in them. I was confused as to why the episode was called ‘In the Forest of the Night’ when…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl commented on the post, Missy

@Thommck Thank you so much for starting such an interesting and useful thread!

I have nothing half as good to add to the fabulous theories on here, I just enjoy reading them and I cannot wait to discover if […]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Flatline

Very much enjoyed this episode, felt a bit Tennant-esque. Really cool idea for an alien, and the image of the police officer’s nervous system on the wall was chilling. Love a new idea, and that was new. Loved the mini TARDIS, and the scene where the Doctor’s hand dragged it off the railway track had me in stitches.

As for the true identities of…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Mummy on the Orient Express

Bit late reading the comments, internet probs!

Very much enjoyed this episode, had high hopes which were fulfilled. It was a little reminiscent of Tennant’s ‘Unicorn and the Wasp’ and ‘Voyage of the Damned’.

Liked Frank Skinner’s cameo as Perkins. Loved the jelly baby case, hoping these will be in shops before Xmas 😀 And of course, the…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Listen

I was utterly flabbergasted after last night’s episode! My head hurt and I was more confused than ever, but I knew it was damn good. I’m usually fairly good at following SM stories, but last night I was beaten!

It got to the point where I thought Danny was the Master! The scene featuring the boy in bed in the shed, and the mention of Time Lords,…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Robot of Sherwood

Thoroughly enjoyed ‘Robot of Sherwood’, a jolly romp of an English folklore with a robot twist- love it. I always enjoy Mark Gatiss’ episodes, and I think you can tell he enjoys writing them as much as we enjoy watching them.
Some classic lines, Scots and vegetables springs to mind! Loved the banter between the Doctor and ‘Hoody’, and the fact…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Into the Dalek

Very impressed with ‘Into the Dalek’, feels like PC’s Doctor has hit the ground running. What a fascinating idea, exploring inside a Dalek. Liked the mixture of reality in this episode too- Clara and Danny Pink trying to hit it off was something a lot of us can relate to! Awkward!
I like the ideas about the Pink and Blue names, hadn’t picked up…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Deep Breath

Ok, having said yesterday that I think Missy is a completely original character, I have just read through all the recent comments and starting to believe she has got to be something more than that. I forgot- this is the Moffat era, and nothing is that simple! 🙂
@FatManInABox – I like your theory about Missy being connected to the Cybermen in…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Deep Breath

Well, what is left to say! I love reading the comments (positive more than negative to be honest) and all the theories.
My whole family sat down to watch last night, and none of us were disappointed. The opening credits- think they will be a grower for sure. Like the cogs and funky music, miss the swirly timey-wimey things a bit though. And as…[Read more]

Showing at the cinema again eh. Sounds good! Although I quite like the idea of being at home surrounded by various nods to the programme, like some of you are by the sounds of it! You really can’t beat fish fingers & custard, it’s become a favourite in our household 😉

My sister and I sent in a thing for the ballot, and our excuse to get out of…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Series 8 Speculation/Wishlist

I was devastated to hear that some fool had ‘lost’ the first 5 episodes of the new series. I’d always commended DW on how it kept everything under wraps in this day and age, where everything is shared and nothing is secret. Will be avoiding parts of the internet for the next month!
Liking the Sanjeev Bhaskar casting, and would definitely like to…[Read more]

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Series 8 Speculation/Wishlist

I quite like the odd cameo from the odd famous person. They often provide comic relief, Lee Evans for example, in ‘Planet of the Dead’. Even Peter Kay’s Abzorbaloff had a comedic side.
It also shows how highly regarded the programme is, that everyone who’s anyone wants to be on it! 🙂

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic On The Sofa (5)

I was hoping, for the anniversary last year, that some of the Classic series would be played on BBC4 or something, as it’s a BBC show. Alas not. Wish I had the Horror Channel…

… Ooo, just found a stethoscope down the back of the sofa….

  • WhoGirl replied to the topic Series 8 Speculation/Wishlist

Very pleased to hear Frank Skinner is going to be in the new series- love that he’s practically been stalking Moffat for a role! 😀 There’s hope for every fan now!!
