@pedant and @arbutus I remember when this terrible accident happened and how it was reported here in Canada. We were told that that it was caused by rioting fans and also told about the robbing and urinating. As told , it was a shocking event caused by bad/stupid people. Being pre-internet the newspapers and TV were my only sources and aft…[Read more]

@craig Thanks for watching football for us! Bill looks fun and cheeky and I can’t wait to see more of her. Of course it is hard to tell from such a short clip but I do get Donna and 1st series Rose vibes. It looks like thoses pesky Daleks are up to no good again. I wonder is she showing up at Christmas or the next series? Anyway the wait…[Read more]

@pedant I share your sadness at losing such a brilliant performer. There seemed to be nothing she couldn’t do, music, acting, comedy and writing and so much more. She was a great talent who will be missed. Thanks for the clip.

@d-i-yana Hello and welcome to the site. It is fun here and has so much to offer us Whovians. Have fun exploring. Hell bent was an excellent episode that I loved. I will watch it again and again I’m sure. Good writing and great acting makes this one of the best.

@dalektor I had not heard of this till you mentioned it so I Googled it and it looks great! I really wish I could go but as you say it is sold out and I would have to plan way ahead , but maybe I will. The people they have had at past events from Who and other sci/fi and fantasy shows were great. Everbody from Moffat and Billie Piper to Tom Bak…[Read more]

@janetteb I didn’t think about this being a Moffat spin-off as opposed to RTD. Even more reason to give it a go. I also preferred Sarah Jane as I loved Elizabeth Sladen and of course K9.

@kharis @bluesqueakpip @missy @thedentistofdavros I like to check out all the Doctor Who spin-offs or specials of any kind. and I have enjoyed quite a few. The Sarah Jane Adventures was quite good even if it was made for a younger group. Torchwood was not really my thing but I have watched a lot of it and some of it was really gritty…[Read more]

Having finished Parting of the Ways I had to watch 10s first outing again although I watch it every Christmas. It is not very Christmassy but then neither am I and it has a killer Xmas tree which I can happily say I don’t have.
We are holding our breath as we watch our old friends Rose ,Jackie ,Mickey and Harriet Jones fight aliens without the…[Read more]

I rewatched this 2 parter last night and I really liked it …again. When I watched the first time I was not online or a BG fan and being in Canada knew nothing of Billie Piper and little of Chris Eccleston. I had no idea that Chris was leaving so I was shocked and heartbroken when he told Rose he was dying but would regenerate. What ? just w…[Read more]

@bluesqueakpip I agree with you about Blink except to say that being zapped away from family and friends is pretty nasty and although you do live out you life it must start out being very confusing and scary. That is what scared me the most about the Angels in Blink.I am kind of scared of spiders also.
The Angels in Angels/Stone were cruel…[Read more] -

I have been rewatching episodes in little groups, like all of the shows where the Angels appear. Starting with Blink and now this 2 parter. It was good to watch these two without a break , like a movie. What more could you ask for? River and Amy and Angels all in one roller coaster of a story with spaceships and space museums and a very scary…[Read more]

@joamdalf It is almost impossible to define the Doctor but there are some things about him that never change. He does not have a weapon, only his huge brain ,quick wit, bravado and sometimes a sonic screwdriver or sunglasses. He always seems to have a plan to right a wrong or an injustice. He can be cranky but rarely cruel or mean. When e…[Read more]

@puroandson Your descriptions of the sky in South Australia and the UK were so lovely I could almost see them. I live in Ontario, Canada surrounded by classic rural farmland.Lots of trees and cows and barns.
@pedant Our Robin is a very friendly, busy bird and fairly bold. They will be building their first nest pretty soon. They often build 2…[Read more] -

@pedant Thanks for sharing your pics of Wales and some of it’s inhabitants. I would love to visit some day. In Canada the bird we call a Robin is actually a thrush and about the size of a starling. It is brown with a rusty red chest and they have just returned to our area hungry for worms. I guess some early pioneers were home sick.
