@whohar @ps1l0v3y0u @dentarthurdent Thank you all for the congratulations and although I had nothing to do with it, I will accept. The wee boy is home now and everyone is settling into their new life. This is my 3rd grandchild but 1st grandson.
With every new grandchild born I get stronger and fight harder to make this world a kinder, cle…[Read more]

@angleonashton: Another option is http://www.bigfinish.com. New stories with the classic cast and better than anything you will find from the last 3-4 seasons.

I apologize for the delay in my response. I was in Mississippi with a disaster relief team due to an ice storm. I have a VIZIO TV. On the remote, there is a “watch free” button. That will take you to the free channels. There you will find a Classic Doctor Who channel. The shows are not played in order, and some are shown more oft…[Read more]

I am bringing good news from my little corner of Whoville. Today at 6pm we welcomed a brand new future Whovian. My son and his wife had a 7lb baby boy and we are over the moon! I am one happy Granny and I can’t wait to meet him. Babies are always good news and I just wanted to share a little ray of sunshine with all of you.
stay happy!

some eps and entire stories have gone. Film was expensive in the past and the bean counters didn’t seem to think twice before recording over it.
It was a different world. BBC I player has everything extant except (bizarrely) the first ever story… which is obviously important but (honestly) not particularly sparkling. The Dalek…[Read more]

I’m not sure where to post this so I’ll just do it here. Is there anywhere to watch all of the old doctor who or do I just have to deal with some episodes being lost?

Wilf is great. As is Donna’s interaction with her mum. Loved part 1. Part 2 dragged on.
Harold Saxon divides Whovians, especially those who adore Roger Delgado, but I think John Sim’s foul and irredeemable Master is wonderful. Especially his burger-van-lady ‘special’ burger. And ‘I LIKE you! I bet you’d taste great!’ The theme als…[Read more]

This was the usual eye-rollingly crazy RTD season closer… but a great season. I found the whole Osterhagen Key/exploding diamond/Davros in the cellar thing faintly ridiculous I’m afraid… that’s before we got to The Tardis towing Earth home. The metacrisis on the other hand was hilarious.
The ‘failed’ regeneration… The Doctor lose…[Read more]

<p data-pm-slice=”1 1 []”>Alas the end of David Ten-inch and RTD. I really like the character of the Master. Obviously this is the only version of the master I have seen, but I really do think he is my favourite. This new and insane version of the master is quite interesting, and his whole “im hungry” thing was out of nowhere and stuffed in (li…[Read more]

in this(these) episode(s) the doctor dies and then regenerates. Except he’s still David tennant. So he can just choose when to regenerate into someone new? How does that even work?

@dentarthurdent The best thing about our winter deep freeze is the lack of bitey and stingy creatures. No sharks here but huge snapping turtles and leaches are enough to keep me out the water. Any huge mysterious splashes would send me running to my house.

Online… BBC Sounds does have audio Dr Who on ‘4 extra’… if you can get it. You may need to register. It might mean declaring a TV licence; in the UK, live broadcast is free to air; not sure about streaming, cos I’m in the UK. Or you may find audio books on libraries, then rip to mp3 for your phone? I haven’t checked You Tube but…[Read more]

ps1l0v3y0u replied to the topic On the Sofa 11
I was quite excited by The Colourised War Games. Such an important story canonically, but 10 eps (250mins) was a bit long: the mad charging about, scenery chewing and interminable sonic screwdriver action, tedious. Nonetheless, the contraction to 90mins seemed too drastic. Two 1hr or 75 min films (The War Games and The Time…[Read more]

Well, I seem to have been absent for a while. Life…sometimes it gets in the way. Hello again to all (particularly @syzygy)
Was just re-watching the recent colourized version of “The War Games”–the last Troughton story and the first that introduced the Time Lords. And what a problematic group of authoritarian guardians they are. No wonder…[Read more]

<p data-pm-slice=”1 1 []”>Where can I listen to audio DW? I’m on a phone and would prefer for it to be free. Side note, I started doctor who with the 9th doctor and am planning to catch up on nu who before watching classic who. I understand there is audios and books and even comic books. Is that any particular order i should do it? Is there a w…[Read more]
