    @Allonsy    So sorry to hear about your mensis horribilis. Those do come along from time to time, don’t they? I hope things are looking up, that your family is rebounding. (And that expressions like “Eh bien” and “c’est la vie” are effective in a southern accent?  🙂 )

    @allonsy — DVDs are cool n all but don’t let it curtail the comic book consumption too much….

  • Missy replied to the topic Doctor Who News (3)

    @allonsy

    That’s what I do. I also have a special Visa card, which I call a ‘netcard’ that I use for ordering on line.

    Cheers,

    @ob-wan @puroandson Capaldi isn’t any less popular than Smith really and with Smith the show finally took off in a huge way globally, admittedly after the BBC finally pumped the kind of money into it that they needed to to make just such in roads. I’ve seen people suggest that the ratings are an indication of him being unpopular and, well, it…[Read more]

    I’d put money on there being an aggressive Who promotion on the BBC online store over the summer…

  • @Craig @Jimthefish @allonsy

    Almost certainly a function of the long break. Without the break, they would be happy to pull in any buzz they can and any opportunity for new viewers to get caught up. With it, they will look to maximise direct revenue, with as few middlemen as poss. Plus, deprived of Netflix etc they might just buy hard copy.

  • Craig replied to the topic Doctor Who News (3)

    @allonsy @OB-Wan Please see above re Hulu. Looks like it’s just going to be the BBC Store.

    Indeed you have. All of us it seems are hopeless cases – thank gawd!

    @puroandson      A view and internet! My son dreams of a room like that.  🙂  (He has the internet, but no view from his bedroom window. He aspires to live in a high rise apartment some day.)

    AG Who  =   after gap  versus BG   before gap.

    The gap years were when there were no episodes  from the BBC

    @Allonsy

    Daily motion has all the Who episodes from all the Doctors  although there might be a few

    I’m tired and probably just too dense, but I can’t seem to figure out what “AG Doctor Who” stands for.

    A little help, please.

    I will now have to find an alternative way of catching up on the show (maybe Hulu or Amazon Prime).

    I have Amazon and I really don’t like it.  I’m going to drop it before my renewal date.  I don’t like the s…[Read more]

    @JimTheFish @Allonsy If Jim is correct (and of course he is) then it may be that they are just dropping Capaldi’s episodes, as they say “promise to care for David and Matt”. As Jim says, Capaldi’s first series is not available on UK Netflix. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

    @Craig     Well, you’re right of course, and I didn’t bother with the original post for exactly that reason. I couldn’t resist with the next bit simply because it was so ridiculous. But, as you say, probably best not to feed.

    Please don’t bother with our new ‘friend’. It’s always best to ignore. Am tempted to delete the posts but if we can show that we can take it, ignore, and move on I think that’s probably better.

    Don’t waste your precious time – if you do they win.
