@lisa @puroandson yes that has been bugging me as well, trying to work out what happened to the confession dial. I have an idea, though I’m not convinced it’s correct.
We assumed that when CapDoc left the trap street at the end of Raven, it was through teleport, but what if it wasn’t. When you compare it with other teleport bracelets, or vortex…[Read more]

Wow. Just wow. Husband and I were blown away by this episode. Amazing writing on the part of Moffat, and getting his head around the big picture. We viewers have taken the long way around, too … and I like that. Not billions of years, of course. But I thought the story arc would return to Gallifrey long before it did.

So, my poor little…[Read more]

Wonderful and powerful episode. Great timey-wimey, very SM, stuff!

The Doctor Winning: the Doctor losing has been an issue this series. My count before Heaven Sent was Doctor 3 (Davros, Fisher King and Mire) vs Forces of Darkness 2 (Rasmussen,`They’). But my, this win was a slog, 4 Billion plus years of excruciating effort.

Is this the first t…[Read more]

@lisa The Californian situation is almost certainly exacerbated by all the Aussie Eucalyptus that have been planted there.

@ichabod It was one hell of wind that day. There was simply nothing the firefighters could do. To make matters worse this year’s wheat crop was damaged by an unseasonal spring heat wave and had been harvested for hay so there…[Read more]

@puroandson Really enjoying reading young Ilion’s posts. It is nice to hear the perspective of someone young.

Puro I am thinking of you and sending virtual hugs.

@ichabod interesting your comment on the scare factor of the sound effects. I think what really frightened me as a child was the music which is why I am certain that particular show…[Read more]

OK, thanks to @lisa I was able to do a bit of reviewing and come up with at least some support for the “pants” theory. Now, the difficulty is that this Doctor is so often shot from above the waist, and even when we see a full view of the Doctor, sometimes the lighting is so dim that it’s hard to get the details of the pants he is wearing. However,…[Read more]

@bendubz11  Damn it, my head is spinning OFF, and it’s your fault.

@lisa  Let’s hear it for the brilliant baby!  Only Rigsy and her mom might have a thing or two to say about that . . .

@pedant  That Moffat is such a fucking hack! Stealing from Buffy again!

You know of a better place to steal from?!

@lisa @ichabod

I really like your view on Clara but I think I focused on a different aspect. She, who had childhood like from a fairytale (it has been always very suspicious for me) with loving parents and such a terrible loss was a very cheerful, full of life and a little bit happy-go-lucky character. Maybe after her mum died she started to deny…[Read more]

@lisa  @ichabod   Re the subject of the tattoo-like markings around Ashildr/Mayor Me’s neck:

Most people who have commented on the markings seem to have seen them as snake-like, but when I saw them in the trailer and subsequently in this episode they reminded me of plant tendrils – the tendrils of vines and clematis which wind around the stems of…[Read more]

@ichabod @lisa Possibly, though I don’t think they were referred to as snaky, not like the leads in Sleep

SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER...

@bendubs11  there were no snakes in this episode, or at least not that I saw.

Ashildr’s snaky tattoos?

@jphamlore  “I promised it a soul and only I can break that contract. When you took it from him, you changed the terms. You cut me out of the deal.”  These are not the tropes of a standard execution, no, it’s much worse. These are the trop…[Read more]

@lisa  I don’t think she died because she had some suicidal death wish. It was to my mind cause she just realized all along that she’d get caught eventually running with the Doctor

Maybe it’s not gone so far as becoming a death *wish*, but remember that phone call in Under the Lake — “Die on the one after me!  You do not leave me!” roughly…[Read more]

A little love for Puro everyone, she is back in the hospital and needs our warm thoughts.  Remember, she was in pain when she wrote that post.  Puro loves the show and this Forum and I’m sure it’s eating at her to be part of any disruption or hurt here.  I think she is just taking a break here because of her illness and stress.  I’m sure she wil…[Read more]

I imagine he’ll be blaming himself for her demise given that he allowed her too much rope.

@lisa maybe more than that. His couple of little chats with Clara about her needing a new hobby are somewhat similar to his telling O’Donnell to stay on the Tardis when he suspected her to be next to die in Before the Flood where he was accused of not t…[Read more]
