@MonochromeDimension – Okay… now I just want to skip ahead and check out the Seventh Doctor. LOL! But if I do that, Ill never get back to the First… I must stay strong… ignore temptation… Ahh! 😛

@MonochromeDimension – On a philosophical thought, I think I appreciate the different incarnations as I see them as different parts of the same man.. erm, alien. Every Doctor is different, but part of the same whole. It’s a lot of fun to meet the new Doctors and get to know another side of the Doctor all over again. And I can relate in a way… my…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Yes, spoons is an instrument, as far as I’m concerned! They were very big in the 80’s here, but faded away from some unknown reason. The newer generation are into playing the cups: You’re Gonna Miss Me. I do wonder what other musical talents the Doctors have. I do know about the Second’s recorder! I’m just learning about the…[Read more]

    Hi @fandomcarzy and @supervannah10 – welcome!

and also as @monochromedimension said, why not pop over to the “Faces of the Doctors” thread to post something about which Doctor(s) you like, or on the “Memories” thread about why you like Doctor Who.

The other threads are kinda self explanatory (eg Companions is for memories/ thoughts on……[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Well, I loved the Tenth and he was completely egotistical at times. I’ll never forget his line toward a group of frighten passengers who demanded to know why he should be in charge of saving them, “Because I’m clever!” It was shocking and rude, but I thought it was cute all the same. So, I think I will love the Sixth D…[Read more]

@purofilion – I think I know why I missed out on the documentary with Susan… I did buy the Anniversary Specials on Amazon (the very moment they were released to the US! I stalked the site and kept hitting ‘refresh’ until it was there. lol). And with it, I did get a documentary but it was about Matt Smith and no mention of old stars… not even…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Well, the Eleventh Doctor would say, “Panama Hats are cool”, and that’s one item I would agree is cool. I don’t blame your love of them. For me personally, I avoid all hats and can’t stand wearing them. Scarfs are nice though. 😉

Ah! Playing the spoons is very much a lost art, I think. I loved your clip of the Seventh…[Read more]

Check it out it’s a great film.

  • Arbutus replied to the topic General Music thread

@TheKrynoidMan  I am familiar with “A Fistful of Dynamite”, but was not aware of the “Duck, You Sucker” alternative name… I think I prefer that one!  🙂  Great bit of scoring.

@MonochromeDimension   Now, that’s just fun! It makes a nice tribute to the importance of good scoring (continuing with the theme above) and also the unsung editor!

@MonochromeDimension – Wow, I didn’t know that Etsy had Doctor Who items! I have to give that site another look then, I’m always on the hunt for Doctor Who items. And yes, you must have the umbrella! I don’t know the Seventh too well yet, but I remember the umbrella. That’s like the Fourth without his scarf. LOL!

I have to finish watching the o…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Yes, I was a lot frustrated with Netflix when I wanted to view the old Fourth Doctor serials and they only had a few episodes out of sync. Then I found Dailymotion and it’s been my savior ever since for Doctor Who. I love the old effects as well and that clip is very well done! I can’t wait to get to that episode. I love t…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Oh… have you tried searching for items of Amazon yet? I sometimes see merchants who sell costume items for specifically for cosplay. I once looked for the Fourth Doctor’s scarf, just because I wanted it for winter (I’m silly), they had quite a few there. Maybe you could find items for the Seventh there?

  • FaeGrl replied to the topic Doctor Who memories

@MonochromeDimension – Ha! Random is good! Yes, my way is a video site and they put the episodes in order, so I watch them that way. At least the older ones. It’s sad that the older episodes before the reboot is not included on “Netflix” or “Hulu”. The series starting with the Ninth are, which is how I started my obsession with the show all over a…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Wow, I didn’t know that the mannequins have a name and their own story! I can’twait to get to Pertwee’s serials, I’m still on the First Doctor though. Sometimes I wish could freeze time, so I could watch all of the Doctor Who serials at once. lol…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – LOL! Yes, that’s very similar to my experience of the rock scene! I gasped, my mouth wide open in shock, and I yelled out, “WHAT?” I couldn’t believe the Doctor was doing that, it was so disturbing, yet hilarious at the same time. Although, I love that I’m getting to see the Doctor when he was more alien, I love it when c…[Read more]

@MonochromeDimension – Yes, I think I’ll forever have that image in my mind, of the Doctor willing to beat someone with a rock forever! And his response when he was caught, I laughed so much! I like him for that, yet don’t like him for it at the same time. It’s a weird feeling I have for him right now. I love Ian and Barbara from the start… n…[Read more]

@ScaryB – Yes, I very much appreciate the old episodes of Doctor Who! No offense to Moffat, but it’s way better writing, I think. @MonochromeDimension  I don’t mind Time and the Rani, although I will admit that it is silly in places. But as I think has been made clear before now on this forum, I am foolishly easy to please! @MonochromeDimension, I also loved Seven. When he first appeared, he immediately became my favourite after Four, even in his “silly season”. I liked how he could go from light to dark with just a look. Four did that as well, but (without even realizing it at the time) I had missed it with Five and Six.

Really enjoying your chat about early Doctors, it’s great to know that the early stories still appeal to people. I’m not big on the reconstructions, though I fully appreciate the talent and effort that goes into them. But I have the benefit of having seen them first time around.  No-one back then expected TV to last,…[Read more]
