    I reckon that I will have to watch this and the previous episode with the subtitles turned on. I know that my hearing is not so good these days, but I AM watching with the sound routed through a […]

    I checked the Virgin TV scheduled of BBC1 at 19:00 on Sunday, 4th August, and the programme scheduled for that time was Celebrity Mastermind.

    Surely this means that the new Doctor is John Humphrys.

    I expected Leela to have been more proficient at killing Greel, but maybe the armour was knife-proof, and, if she had succeeded, it would have been a very short episode.

    I am not sure where the parody of “The […]

    At least we know that Weng-Chiang isn’t Weng-Chiang (unless he was named after a Chinese god).

    I finally got to watch this after a walk in the hot sun in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (in Cumbria) and missing the thunderstorms. A bottle of wine was also consumed tonight.

    Weng-Chiang’s incoherent OTT […]

    @wolfweed

    The film poster has reminded me of the old proverb:

    Time flies.
    You cannot.
    They fly too fast.

    @chickenellyΒ and others.

    As I have bought Revisitations 1, I would be interested in a joint rewatch of “The Caves Of Androzani” (which I don’t think that I have watched) and “The Movie”, which I switched off at […]

    Sorry for a second post so soon, but I have just realised that the ending is about the only part of the episode where the possibility of someone’s immanent death doesn’t occur.

    I was wondering whose dead body would appear in the knife cabinet (and when).

    A light-hearted interlude:

    There is a limestone ravine in the Yorkshire Dales called “Troller’s Gill”, which is famous for its phantom hound.

    The name means the gill of the troll’s arse.

    Not a lot happening in this episode, but the plot is thickening slowly. However, it seemed to get to the cliffhanger very fast. (I must be used to 45 min episodes now!)

    The potential goryness of this episode […]

    BTW
    Clara could still be the daughter of The Doctor and River.

    BTW
    Note that the Scottish dialect pronunciation of “daughter” is “doctor”. πŸ™‚

    I do like the idea that the birth name of The Doctor is irrelevant. The meaningful name is the one that he gave himself, with all the promises and responsibility that goes with it. I think that this fits in well […]
