Let us not forget Arlo Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant

  • Correction

I should have typed William McBride, not Jimmy

Eric Bogle’s version can be found here

  • This YouTube video is a suitable one for Remembrance Day. It is June Tabor’s version of Eric Bogle’s song,

also known as Jimmy McBride and The Green Fields of France. I was singing it to myself most of the morning while I was on my way to my regular MRI…[Read more]

Be careful of believing the Telegraph.

Just after Apil fools day, they ran a story where they claimed that the National Trust had banished mentioning Easter in the publicity for its Easter events, and also managed to get Teresa May and the Archbishop of York to make comments on the bogus story. When I checked on the National Trust’s…[Read more]

    @Mudlark

On the Wikipedia Julian and Sandy page

It says “The fiftieth Doctor Who Virgin New Adventures novel Happy Endings by Paul Cornell features a Polari-speaking Silurian musical duo from the 30th century called Jacquilian and Sanki.”

I don’t know if they are male or female.

  • It is looking like this site is being spammed by mater and pater’s precious little snowflakes as they complain about an episode that hasn’t even been screened yet,and hopefully they will not watch, although that will probably not stop them from commenting,as in the past comments have been posted before episodes have started.

    Will Bill become Handles?

    PS

If there is anybody out there whose physics is more up to date than mine, how does time dilation due to gravity combine with any tidal effects?

    Time to be Bonkers

Could Bill’s emotional feeling (and the ability to feel pain) cause a developement in cybernation where the cybermen become more empathic with people that they try and upgrade?

  • stevethewhistle replied to the topic World Enough and Time

Is this week’s David Bowie song “Fill Your Heart”?

  • stevethewhistle replied to the topic World Enough and Time

Fully-converted cybermen arn’t supposed to show emotions.

However, fully-converted Bill was crying her eyes out.

Also note Nardole’s digs about The Doctor not showing emotions.

I also wonder whether The Doctor will have the stronger bond wuth Missy or The Master.

    Some lovely bits:

The english teacher not recognising a quote from Shakespeare.

The little white dot at the finish (for any younger people. this is what the broadcast picture defaulted to at the end of the day’s programmes, after the epilogue.) – it might have been through this dot that the “infection” was broadcast,if it wasn’t through the…[Read more]

    Oops

    I should of realised this

Obviously, my brain tumour and it’s subsequent removal are still having some consequences.

    One last daft thought:

truth and consequenes = T&C = terms and conditions.

The original song I believe was written by an ex-captain of a slave ship.

  • stevethewhistle replied to the topic The Zygon Invasion

One thing that I have not seen disussed yet.

If zygons take on human form, they will surely be able to mate and reproduce with humans.

What will be the status of their offspring?

    Bonkers Theory:

Could the hybrid offspring of humans and zygons (with the ability of the zygons to take on the form of other life forms evolving into regeneration) be…[Read more]

I am having trouble working out the full significance of “Amazing Grace” being played, unless it is a reference to Clara saving him.

Could “no dogs” (re-inforced by the sound of barking) be an indication that some of the Zygons have taken on the form of dogs (as in dogs are a man’s best friend)?

Bonnie/Clara’s assessment of Unit having being…[Read more]

  • EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE (to be translated from Dalek)

  • Unless I have mised a comment, I don’t think that anybody has mentioned that whereas old- Davros has an eye in the middle of his forehead, boy-Davros desn’t. I think that this implies that the old-Davros and boy Davros may not be the same person (unless the third eye developes later in life, I am not an expert on Dalek anatomy.).
