Messenger in Greek is aggeliofors (= αγγελιοφόρος), aggelos is the angel. My Greek are good. It would be a shame if it wasn’t since I am Greek. 😛Guys don’t get me wrong but if we wanted to we could practically, really compare The Doctor to anything. I get the Jesus- Doctor comparison in the way you did but that’s the extent to it. I for example always compared The Doctor with a very good psyciatrist, a man of reason. Throughout the series we’ve seen many examples of The Doctor trying to reason and analyse every possible reaction the “opponent” would make with many different ways, and in many different species. He would firstly apply logic and then action.
In the 50th we can practically see throughout the whole episode an internal fight. The Doctor trying to evaluate his past and future actions, questioning them as he moves on.

Now that I mentioned the 50th, how do you guys feel about changing the history of Gallifrey? I think that since Gallifrey didn’t fall in the end, shouldn’t his memories of it falling change? Can you explain which Doctor John Hurt is? Cause War Doctor doesn’t really explain thigns in my head.One last and major one. The Doctor is supposed to be able to regenerate 13 times. Does that mean that there is only one Doctor left for the series to end? Cause if it does, I’m gonna get really crazy.

The hair thing happens a lot in many series. My boyfriend knows a lot of how things work in series and cinemas and said that its a production designing fault. If they allow it no one else can have a word at it. That’s why you can find “mistakes” in series in general.
It amazes me every single time I watch this episode that the flat people literally act as zombies but only run a little faster. Do you have any idea how their “look” worked out? I know I’m getting a little technical here but I thought it might be a greenscreen sheet on them.
About the door, the thing you said, it didn’t even occur to me for some reason and that is a much simpler explanation than what I thought!!

The 1st time the Tardis gets smaller the door *compared to the main frame is centered on the floor. When it gets even smaller its in the center or the main frame. For some reason they changed the framing. I’m getting very dorky detailed sometimes.

Watching Flatline right now. Saw something very, very weird. Peter Capaldi got a haircut in the middle of shooting the episode. Until 30:28 he has the normal hair and after that he has a new haircut!!!!

I can’t seem to get enough of your stories. Wow a music conductor. Your age explains your backround too. You life seems very intersting, you should be proud of what you have achieved so far. I sense a bitterness in your posts when it comes to women achieving things. People must have given you a hard time right?As for me, I might be young but I have encountered a few things the last few years that have made my life very different. I said it in another thread, I’m going to be very quick about it in this one. I suffer from constant 24/7 vertigo/dizziness, so my choices in doing things lately have become very limited. I got fired because of it 2 months ago and I don’t even have insurance anymore to do further check ups. I manage in general but its been very difficult.

No, health care here in Greece is a mess. I think you’ve probably heard how things are here. We are in crisis. I recently got fired because of my dizziness/vertigo, so I’m unemployed and I don’t even have insurance in order to do more check-ups. No health care and no awareness for invisible illnesses whatsoever. Vertigo has caused major anxiety problems so on top of that I have a lot of acute anxiety attacks from being scared all the time. I’ve joined a group on facebook and if it wasn’t for these people there I would be deep in depression. I got out of it because of them. So i try to have hope and believe things are going to get better.I play a little guitar but I mostly sing and write songs. Along with my boyfriend who plays flute, bass and guitar. Mostly idie music. Simple songs. I’m really a begginer. Theater is what I love though.
I really understand what you stepdaughter is going through and choosing something more stable is wiser for people like us. Theater is way more diffcult than what it seems to be. I had no idea how hard it could be until I joined this group (which I did out of hobby but ended up loving). Good thing you have such awareness for illnesses like that!

I guess you understand mine is pretty obvious. But I can’t be really subjective, I’m in love with David Tennant and probably always will be. I haven’t had the opportunity to watch the Classic Who. I’ve only watched Hartnell so far but will watch the rest of it soon. Everyone says Tom Baker is the best Doctor and I cannot wait to watch but I’m afraid it might be difficult for me since I’ve started with the New Who.I read an article about Christopher Eccleston and said that he had a lot of differences with the production of the series and didn’t want to follow orders of the director (i hope this isn’t true though cause it will really change my opinion of him as a person, according to the article he was pretty much a diva). In the end I really liked him, he was fantastic 🙂
I really loved David Tennant because I admire him as an actor and I think he did a great job. He is very good at what he does and he along with Peter Capaldi where major Doctor Who fanboys when they where young and that’s what I think is what makes them great Doctors, because they really loved it. As for Matt Smith, he was funny, energetic, eccentric and I really ejoyed watching him but I believe that he was never the Doctor, he acted like the Doctor.
Now I found this video a few minutes ago, I think its hilarious

16 March 2015 at 00:33 #38856@lisa Definately, I can speak English but I can’t speak Ancient Greek for sure. I started learning English earlier than I did Ancient Greek. I got my last diploma in English when I was 15. English has become an international language. Everyone can speak it now, if not well at least the basics. In school its a compulsory (if that’s the right word) lesson. They teach you the basics and then you have to take private lessons to advance.

I was chatting with puro in another thread and now you. You both have very interesting backrounds and now I feel mine is extremely boring!! Well, i take it it runs in the family. I believe eevery single person has potential in creating but many never realize what they have.
My quarter century was kind of dull until lately that I started exploring my options and my “abilities”.
I’m in theater, in a group for 4 years now but I’m not as healthy as you so I quit this year (makes me very sad). I suffer from an invisible illness as they call it, constant dizziness which means I feel as If I am on a moving boat 24 hours a day. I can’t even walk properly and I’m freakin’ 25 years old. So now that I’m part handicap (not literally but it feels like it) I’m into creating things. I make music mostly. Wow, you have a very interesting backround. If I may ask, how old are you? I hear people learn Ancient Greek in schools and I couldn’t believe it. I mean, modern greek can be difficult, let alone ancient. It gave me a hard time in school, I can’t imagine what it must have been for you.
As for the production, I noticed good changes with Matt Smith’s arrival at the show. Before that, it had a british atmosphere, if you know what I mean. From season 5 and on, the production became more international.btw ( I just realized you are a girl as well 😛 )

Well you have a point but just imagine that it would become “mainstream” (as they call it) if it did. And of course not everyone is artsy. I suppose they need to make every episode with unique and different stories about different situations in order to cover the needs of every viewer. Make a bunch of different stories for everyone to relate to. I would love it as well if they make more episodes that have to do with art.
Now I remembered they also went back to Shakespeare. It was the second episode of the 3rd season. You said that art is something more internal. I couldn’t agree more. Every person perceives art they way he/she “needs” to. Like when it comes to poems. Everyone can make a different assuption about the meaning of each poems. This applies to all kinds of art.

I believe tha Bill Nighy is an acting genius and he was perfect for the part. I couldn’t help but compare Van Gogh with Lady Cassandra. Both struggling for recognition but for completely different reasons. One understanding that there is nothing else to give or take ( Van Gogh), the other one managing to give in to the truth, which is accepting things the way they are (Cassandra). Maybe my comparison isn’t valid but that’s the way I imagined it. I shed rivers of tears for both. Now that I said rivers, I remembered River. I hope we see her again!

I hear people saying that they aren’t very good but for some reason I really loved both. Listen was pretty great too and at the ending when we found out who the child was, I literally jumped up from my seat because really I wan’t expecting it at all (that’s what I love about this series…there have been many times that an episode ended and I was still unable to human)
I heard an isane companion rumor but I don’t know if its true and If I’m allowed to post it here so…

It might amaze you but it’s the truth. Just imagine trying to have a discussion and try explaining things to people while you’re trying to figure out the right word or expression for every other thing. For example, imagine trying to fit into clothes that don’t fit you. I watch series without subs in order to practice but apart from having to know good English to be able to communicate with other people I have to farmiliarize with different accents as well.15 March 2015 at 03:57 #38799@jimthefish thank you for understanding

You do not need to be fluent in any language to avoid unsupported assertions and opinion presented as truth. This, of course, would involve being interested in what others have to say – something you have shown no inclination to be.
I’m fluent enough to tell you that I never said my opinion was THE truth but it is my truth, since it is my opinion. I suggest you go back a few pages and see what I actually posted which was that I don’t like Moffat’s writting, which I thought I was allowed to believe. But clearly as you point out, I’m not. Sorry I didn’t know that. I am inclined to hear what others have to say, otherwise I wouldn’t keep answering but you’re not going to believe it just cause I’m saying it, no one ever does. That’s what I have to say, If you want to believe me that’s okay, If you don’t then it’s okay again.

Let me say one or two last things, explain myself and then I will leave you all alone. 1)You don’t know me, you’ve never met me and the conclusion you’ve made up about me were based on two paragraphs/posts. That’s the time that I had in this forum before being attacked. 2) Misunderstandings can be made esily when you don’t have the other person in front of you when having a discussion and you can’t know way the other person is saying these things to you and get upset for no reason. I wasn’t really agressive (except for replying to puro, I’m going to admit i was when I responded to him) 3) English in not my native language so @purofilion some of the things you said I didn’t understand at all .
In the end all i’m saying is that in reality there is no fuss at all when it comes to what I said here, I think its just the way you took it. So in order to not make another fuss for no reason at all I’m gonna leave you guys here, cause clearly there is no “chemistry” between us, and in all seriousness (not joking here) good luck, hope your forum goes well. 😛

Wow you should check on the spite you got going on…and if i’m not wrong I can have an opinion as a human being aren’t I? And oh please lower the attitude a little bit, you are approaching it the same way that I do but you are a “Moffat lover”. I signed up here in order to discuss Doctor Who and see different point of views but if that’s the deal then i’m out (at least the others said something about it but didn’t make a personal attack). So good luck on your future and oh by the way I’m not a dude.

They made the best choice choosing Peter Capaldi but missed the whole point during the season. Plot holes everywhere. I mean take Death in heaven for exmple, the only explanation they gave for Danny helping Clara and The Doctor was “the power of love”…I love Doctor Who, it’s my favorite series but its time someone else took over.

I mean all they seem to focus on this year is that stuff happens on earth, lets figure out a solution. They rarely time travel or even go to other planets anymore. I seriously don’t like the production this year, its too *out there* if you know what I mean. Capaldi I love though…
