The Day of The Doctor is structured into two plots – an A plot (the use of The Moment by the War Doctor) and a B plot (the Zygon Invasion of Earth). The A plot has a long-standing emotional conflict at its heart. The Doctor, a hero to many, once committed an act of genocide on his own people.
