13 September 2014 at 06:16 #31502I don’t know how many of your are familiar with Bitcoin, but I was researching it out of curiosity. I discovered other alt coins. One of those coins was a DOCTOR WHO crypto currency. I got myself a wallet and invested in the coin. Just think now I can buy Doctor Who stuff with a Doctor Who cryptocurrency! The name is #SDD for short which stand for SonicScrewdriver coin. Odd name, but just the same its actually worth REAL MONEY on a few cryptocurrecies Exchanges. I own $10 worth of #SDD coin if you can believe that. To find out more go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=755180.0

24 September 2014 at 14:10 #32470Anonymous @A Kickstarter campaign to turn The Minister of Chance audio play into a movie is being launched on 1st October.
For those who don’t know, The Minister was one of only five Time Lords to survive The Time War and featured in the Doctor Who novel “The Gallifrey Chronicles”
The audio play, which features Paul McGann and Sylvester McCoy (but neither are playing The Doctor) can be downloaded for free from here…
27 September 2014 at 07:54 #32547Anonymous @Jo Grant returns to Doctor Who!
Not really 🙁 Katy Manning was in Cardiff filming for an episode of Casualty and popped over to the TARDIS set for a quick chat.

Friendly Dalek teaches you to code
The BBC has unveiled a computer game called The Doctor and the Dalek, as part of the Make it Digital initiative to get more young people into computer coding. It is voiced by Peter Capaldi and the story, starring a friendly Dalek, is written by Doctor Who series writer Phil Ford. A browser game playable over the internet, it is aimed at six to 12-year-olds…
I’ll definitely be getting my kids involved with this, awesome idea
24 October 2014 at 13:34 #34061Anonymous @After being closed for a bit of refurbishment the Doctor Who Experience has reopened.
28 October 2014 at 08:06 #34235Anonymous @The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot Deleted Scenes are now available on YouTube.
28 October 2014 at 16:21 #34239Anonymous @SPOILER ALERT
For those who purchase the Radio Times, apparently in next weeks issue (which has a feature on the Daleks) there is a massive spoiler for the final episode.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
28 October 2014 at 17:05 #34240Can you tell me where I can find out the spoiler please?

30 October 2014 at 20:10 #34347Anonymous @The finale of Doctor Who (Death in Heaven) is to be an hour long episode, airing at 8pm on 8th November 😀
They also give a brief synopsis of the plot which some may consider a bit spoilery.

9 November 2014 at 05:19 #35106Anonymous @Hello all!
I’m so sorry if this has already been posted (and I’m also sorry if this is the wrong area to post it, I am new to the forum!) but did anyone else see this announcement? Apparently a site called TeeFury is giving away a life size, screen accurate Tardis built by a Doctor Who superfan.
http://blog.teefury.com/teefury-is-building-a-tardis-but-why/
Just wanted to share, I will definitely be entering!
19 November 2014 at 20:16 #35749I’m really trying to find the whole of this online. But in the meantime – something even Steven Moffat didn’t know. Capaldi turned down the opportunity to be the 8th Doctor.
20 November 2014 at 01:11 #35755Anonymous @@craig thank you for the Daily Mash -I admit to reading this with a good laugh. Then, not knowing anything about ‘The Mash’ I went to a random article where a person is listed as stable having been attacked by a poisonous amphibian. Naturally, expecting a Jeremy Wade-type interaction, I was amazed to discover that the person wasn’t swimming and was ‘touched’ by the British PM who is apparently toxic to the elderly and babies. He’s to be covered in a transparent cocoon so he does no more harm to passers-by.
20 November 2014 at 01:16 #35756Anonymous @again, @craig thank you for the above (#35749). Watch Jenna in this. Her foot won’t stop ADHD symptoms of restless leg and she looks totally bored- not smiling, mostly. Peter’s hair’s grown out (is that correct apostrophe people?) and he’s quite happy.
20 November 2014 at 02:16 #35759@purofilion
Speaking as a fellow inveterate fidget, I don’t see boredom there (after due adjustment for her being surrounded by total geeks). Bear in mind they are talking about events that happened when she was about 7.
20 November 2014 at 02:26 #35760Anonymous @@pedant You’re right; all those interviews, all the geeks and yes at 27, she’s doing well; always gracious and patient. But I guess, looking at the outfit (as we women are ‘prone to do’), I then liked the shoes and then became hypnotised by the zooming foot.
20 November 2014 at 02:35 #35761@purofilion
Ha! I so much a twitcher that I don’t even see it in other people unless they are sat next to me!
24 November 2014 at 15:37 #35845this is a longer version of the DVD event but still just highlights – not really spoilery
25 November 2014 at 03:32 #35849@lisa Thank-you for putting up that link. Very enjoyable interview. I think a few parents on this forum will be relieved to hear S.M.s reassurance ‘re Santa/Father Christmas/Nick Frost.
Re’ the foot twitching I noted that by the end J.C. had stopped and M.G had started .Must have been catching.
Cheers
Janette
25 November 2014 at 08:51 #3585025 November 2014 at 09:06 #35851Anonymous @I don’t know what it is, but when I watch these interviews, I’m so nervous? I’m waiting for a major stuff up. Or some indelicate situation? I loved how, elegant Capaldi, stands and waits for Jenna to arrive on ‘stage’ and gestures ‘oh do sit’ whereas bloody Boffat blobs in and falls into the chair straightaway. On the nervy thing, I don’t see it with other people: perhaps I’m chewin’ my nails because it’s ‘this show’. Also, as Tucker he has a grating quality in his voice; here, he’s frequently whispery. I’ve seen this in Oz interviews, too. He’s a quiet, thoughtful person, I think. Still believe Jenna looks bored and Samuel with his bloody ‘turned in’ legs: does he never wear a suit? (Grow up, dude). Obviously they have to do 100s of these things, so whatdoIknow? But @lisa thank you for putting that up -it was good to hear about the ‘banana’. I do so like Michelle G -she’s very natural to me. So is the Moff, of course. He’s always just himself!

26 November 2014 at 16:45 #35852If anyone listens to the latest audio story please let us know – and if there are any story
cross-overs with the current tv series happening now. I’m not familiar with the audios that much.
There used to be some loaded on You tube and I listened to 2 of them but then got away from them
[ I did enjoy them though }1 December 2014 at 01:46 #35938Now here’s a bit of good news to start the week, for anyone who likes to worry about DW’s continuing ratings crisis (to paraphrase @bluesqueakpip). This includes all the figs – overnights, repears, timeshifted and iplayer for 7 days after broadcast, averaging to a pretty consistent 8m+/episode. That should put a deserved smile on the faces of the DW team, I hope.
And there’s a very pretty chart as well.

1 December 2014 at 10:39 #35945@scaryb
Sounds like our ratings crisis might continue into Series Nine 😈More seriously, you can see why the BBC don’t bother about a set time for Who. Over a third of the audience time shift? That’s incredible!
And oddly appropriate for a show about time-travel. 😉
1 December 2014 at 12:33 #35948Deep Breath is up there with “Tennant leaving” levels.
2 December 2014 at 11:41 #36008I’ve hot wired the Tardis so you can all help the Dr and Santa to find the #Tangerines http://cinsidemedia.com/360/DrWho/Tardis2.html

8 December 2014 at 20:15 #36104Interview with Capaldi on Den of Geek. WARNING: May contain minor spoilers for those who know absolutely nothing, but he does say things like “I can’t go into that…”
Also “I watched The Masque Of Mandragora the other day…” What a fan!

John Hurt has been given a knighthood in the New Year Honours List.
31 December 2014 at 00:03 #36699Well here is my review of Doctor Who. What do you guys think of it?
31 December 2014 at 00:54 #36704Lovely news about John Hurt’s knighthood, well deserved. Thanks for sharing.
“Sir Doctor of TARDIS” has a nice ring to it.
6 January 2015 at 23:54 #37039http://www.cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/game-of-thrones-actor-joins-doctor-who-season-9
doesn’t seem to be spoiler -ishy
7 January 2015 at 01:44 #37047@lisa, well I suppose it depends where one is in Game of Thrones and who it is! I’m not looking, Schrödinger’s spoiler for me. However, I realise this isn’t the Game of Thrones Forum, so I shall just bug out of this thread if needs be 😉
7 January 2015 at 01:52 #37048@Barbara Lefty He said that the name of his character will be Prentis like in the Sorcerers
ap ‘prentice’? a nice bread crumb but hungry and wanting more breadcrumbs !! 🙂
[put me on record for predicting possible computer app called Prentice ?]7 January 2015 at 02:28 #37051Urgh. Another “Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell” reference. They are tormenting me. (I was hoping it would appear in the Christmas Schedule. Have been keenly awaiting this adaptation for ages.)
Thanks for the link @lisa. Nice to have a few breadcrumbs to nibble as we wait. (or should that be, “jammy dodger crumbs?)
Cheers
Janette
