I’m so happy! Audience in Mexico City was funny, lots of fezzes, lot’s of 11s, couple of Tens, girls with Tom Baker scarfs. Plenty of fan and ingenious t-shirts. Ah! Lots of I’ve seen a Silence face marks. I went with my dad. Can you believe that? I have the coolest dad in the world! The trailers were funny and the story. Ah! Well, the story. @xad4 you would’ve not been alone at the cinema with me, I was crying! But happy, but crying, but happy. And it looked amazing on 3D! Sorry, not being very coherent, but I ‘m still so excited, like a kid on an overload of sugar. My dad laughed a lot. He is NOT a Who fan, but knows the wee bit needed to follow the episode, which proves is open for all audiences, but of course if you actually have seen most of the series makes more sense… Lots of girls in the audience, Billie’s name got a major round of applause when it appear on the screen. Ah! Lots of screwdrivers of course, which for Mexico I think is awesome! Ahhh, can’t wait to hear all your thoughts!

@timeloop In Mexico only one cinema chain will be screening it, but it will be available in a number of cities and in Mexico City is almost sold out and they’ve had to open new screenings. I’m not sure how that translates into actual numbers, but for a show that you would think is almost unknown in Mexico, I think it’s pretty impressive. Sales are at 4.5 pounds (including glasses!), which is the standard rate for 3D. I’m so happy it’s being screened here, I had hoped I was going to be able to watch it in the UK (I work between both countries) but it was not to be and I was kind of disappointed to settle with the tv.

Wee bit out of topic by now, but I’ve been away with no internet connection and just started reading it again (I also confess I’m guilty of lurking, shy fish I am).

I came here today after reading in The Guardian the news about @htpbdet, and I wanted to pay my respects to his family and friends. His was truly amazing and inspirational writing and gave me a new perspective on many Who’s matters, specially as I started watching the classic series only after getting hooked up by the new. His love of the show was clear but more endearing was the passion found on his posts. I regret finding out so late and it’s with a heavy heart I write down this small tribute for him. As it has been said here before, it’s very strange to feel so strongly about people you’ve never met, but what an amazing community this is, all over the world, and I hope some comfort goes to his family by knowing his words brought laughter and reflection and his life deeply touched others even on these distant shores.

Definitely need to eatch again. In the meantime, come on, everybody, a couple of tears? I had to reach for the box of tissues! I think this was River’s goodbye. yes, she was/is stored in the library but to me it was a “I need to let you go”,  ergo let you rest as past and not awake you every 5 minutes when i think of you. When people you love die, you think if them all the time, they come up on you everyday life, but what if every time you did that they were awoken  in a kind of half-life, impossible in the flesh? Wouldn’t you want to let them rest? Ghosts also get tired. I really don’t want to see River go, as she has always been the most progressive,  interesting bit bit for me of new Who, but I trully believe this was goodbye. That dialogue had the true emotion of two lovers being torn apart beyond their control. Oh, goodness me, I need the tissues again, defo need a rewatch and some sobering up before coming back to rush in where only fish dare to thread. (please excuse the ortography! dreadful, but right now, too emotional to correct!)

@juniperfish Madam, thank you very much sweetie, I mean that now I am obsessively compulsively watching every episode for colour patterns! Between that and fractals, it’s messing up my mind. And what happens when he is wearing dots? Aaaaw

@phaseshift Mexico is actually in North America, but indeed with more ties to the South… and I gladly take on the task of reporting to all my fellow Spanish speaking latinos! I’m up for a Who Worldwide conspiracy!

The resistance to name the Doctor reminds me of Childhood’s End, by C. Clarke, we all have a past universal collective imprint from the future telling us to fear that name or image because we know that after we’ve actually learn it, it’s the beginning of our demise. But you can’t help falling in love with them, right?

ok, Hi! saying hello from far away Mexico. Laughing and reading all of you for a couple of months, I felt it was only fair to show my face, if only to not feel like an intruder. Every week, I refrain myself from going unto the G page on Saturday afternoon, to wait until I’ve seen my DW episode (I see it with a two hour delay). THEN I start reading. I love @juniperfish bow tie conspiracy, it’s my personal obsessive compulsive favorite, but I must confess, I don’t think we are dealing with two different doctors, or I don’t think they are going for that angle. Anyway. Puppeh Face Smith has become so dark and aged I keep forgetting he is so young. That’s the weight of being The Doctor. But this is supposed to be a hi, an awkward hi, so allons-y!
