    Re Cybermen “deleting emotions” – hat tips to @Apopheniac @Rob @BadWulf @PhaseShift and anyone else I missed:

    There are a number of possible reasons why Missy et al wanted people to voluntarily delete their emotions before becoming Cybermen.  As @PhaseShift says, people have been known to resist Cyber conversion throughout the years.  Missy may h…[Read more]

    Hello @BadWulf

    I interpreted this as the Master creating an army for the Doctor using “volunteers”, as the Doctor would probably have had more difficulty taking ownership of a conscript army.

    Interesting idea.  I hadn’t considered that – I went for ‘The Master is so cold-heartedly evil she laughs at making humans delete their emotions.’  OTOH,…[Read more]

    @BadWulf    Wow. Well done! I think it’s very cool that you know the different models of phone boxes.

    @Apopheniac    Yes. Well, I suppose I am old school enough that it didn’t occur to me to worry about the companion needing to sustain a story arc. And in fact, even in AG Who, it hasn’t always been that way. Actually, I think it’s quite possibl…[Read more]

    @Badwulf I must commend you on your due diligence !!! lol
    It is so nice that you live in that neighborhood – I have wonderful memories of my trips there
    Still sticking to my idea about smoke coming from the “reflection” tardis [possibly a figure]
    Its I think something about the way it seems purposely super imposed on that window pane – maybe ??

  • ScaryB replied to the topic Death in Heaven

    Oooh! Bit of catching up to do, you’ve been prolific!

    @CathAnnabel @Purofilion @JanetteB @BadWulf (and everyone)

    Re trolls in t’other place. Just a reminder – we agreed ages ago not to namecheck particular posters from other blogs on here. Apart from the danger of contamination(!), they do check here from time to time and it makes us look smug,…[Read more]

  • lisa replied to the topic Death in Heaven

    @Badwulf Maybe its both ? Maybe that’s why there is a reflection of 1 red phone box inside the window
    of the other? Btw – I think there may also be a figure in that reflection but its very hard to make out

  • lisa replied to the topic Death in Heaven

    @Badwulf Maybe the different models are perhaps a continuity and /or convenience situation??

  • lisa replied to the topic Death in Heaven

    @Badwulf – plus the obvious that she chooses a phone box like Doc’s – a tribute to her endless love
    for him !

    I watched the 2 episodes in the last few days.  It was personally upsetting and hard to watch as a close family member passed away just before the first epipsode, with the burial just before the second.  If I’d known in advance, I probably would not have watched these ones just yet.  I’m glad to have read through the forum though, as your th…[Read more]

    @BadWulf    Good point!  I was forgetting the recursion problem.  Ah well, I’ll have to fall back on the alternative dimension solution.  The one idea I balk at is the idea that St Paul’s has somehow been replaced: people would have noticed 🙂

    If there has been enough time for a memorial to be built, why is Danny only just now being inducted into the nethersphere?

    I was also wondering that…. I figure it’s just a true plot hole, and will never be referred to or resolved.

    danny’s consciousness has been lifted from his brain at the instant of death, and tra…[Read more]

    i just went back to investigate, and the hand on the picture frame is clara’s. as awkward as the angle is, it’s her right hand, and she’s pulling herself around the edge of the picture, as if she had been hiding just to the inside of it (to avoid the exploding dalek, i assume).

    That’s unfortunate. I was hoping it was Missy, becau…[Read more]

    @BadWulf Hi AleX – you have to do it manually!

    Just copy and paste the text you want to quote into your reply, then use the “Blockquote” formatting button (between Italic and Strikethrough). The paragraph where your cursor is will then be indented, and shown in bold italic on the forum.

    Tennant is an odd one for me, because I really enjoy…

    @BadWulf – My head asplode.

    Just as Clara’s hands in the TARDIS goo took them to Danny’s childhood (her soulmate?), the Doctor’s hands could have taken them to the childhood of the person he has known the longest and the closest (his soulmate? frenemy?).

    There are so many questions that I want answered this week:

    That would certainly be “for the dads”, as the euphemism goes, since all non living inorganic material would be rendered invisible by the Dark Water, so all we would see would be skin.

    Big, big eyes.

    LOL! My what big eyes you have, BadWulf

    @BadWulf – How do I quote a post on this forum? Can’t find the quote post button anywhere!

    About Davison I can’t say anything yet since i’ve only seen him in The Five Doctor, I’m gonna finish the second doctor stories tonight and start using the sheet to download the best third doctor stories. Hopefully I can finish the best stories of each…[Read more]

    Great work on that spreadsheet, @BadWulf. Will try and put in my scores when I get a moment.

    And good to see that @wolfweed is still lurking out there. Hope to see a more permanent return soon….

    @BadWulf Thank you!

  • DrBen replied to the topic On The Sofa (5)

    Thank you @BadWulf – this is wonderful!  I have added my ratings (clearly, I haven’t seen much in the way of BG yet).  I guess that now I can statistically confirm (science!) that the 11th Doctor is My Doctor (although 12 may surpass him after this week).

    Are the category averages viewable somewhere?  I didn’t see them.
