If you read my original post that was my point…. American Syfy can turn out up to 22 episodes a season and Chinball complaining about 10 being to much work.

No I don’t work in TV but there are plenty of SciFi shows that made more than 10 episodes a year..Star Trek TNG, V, DS9, Dark Matter,The Magicians, and so on to name a few ….but it sounds like you are telling me that if The Doctor was cut back to a 6 episode split season with 10 to 12 months or more in bewteen the “split” that you would have no problem with that? Ya, right.

I guess that depends on what you call quality. Sherlock is so far beyond this past Season of The Doctor in quality that they are not even comparable. Sitting through 22 C.M. episodes is not what I want at all. My point was that complaining about having to make 10 42 min episodes a year sounds like he really doesn’t want to be there. I say don’t let the door hit your butt on the way out.

I just read that Chinball has said that 10 episodes a year is to much work! And wants to go to a split season of 6 episodes a year! If that’s true just one more reason to be sorely disappointed in the new direction of the show. I mean really, 10 episodes is to much work? American Syfy shows can pump out 22 episodes a year and he is complaining about 10. Of course the article said he was considering leaving also and that if he did Jodie would be going with him. That would not bother me in the least bit.

@ Kevin who we will see if that’s the case next year or just the curiosity of seeing a female Doctor.

In my opinion Chibnall making it a New Years Day episode is just one more piece of proof the he is trying to fundamentally change how The Doctor is perceived. From Jodie Whittakers portrayal of The Doctor and the writing this season and now a new year’s episode instead of Christmas episode he has changed the series beyond salvation. I don’t believe I will watch next season in protest. I definitely am not looking forward to it or sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of it. I understand the need for CC to “make it his own” but there is a point of going to far. I am probably in the minority with these thoughts buy it is what it is. What ever it would cost to coax SM back to the table would be well worth it. Beg, borrow, steal BBC and get him back!

And yet another reason to feel let down and cheated with this new Doctor Who.
NO FREAKING CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!?!? REALLY!?!. OR AN I MISSING IT SOMEHOW?

@thane16 I have no problems no new villians or the lack of old. To me the whole season seemed to be about trying to conform The Doctor to this world view of making sure no one’s feelings get hurt, this generation of people wearing their heart on their sleeve. Where every child should get a trophy and not learn that regardless of intentions there will always be winners and losers in life. It felt to me that that was the message they were trying to send, the same pattern a lot of shows are following today, the trying not to hurt anyones feelings. The we are the voice of tolerance as long as you think like I do we can all get along philosophy.

@thane16 That is a lot of the problem, the Doctor is an 👽, not human. If I wanna watch a touchy-feely show I’ll turn on the Good Witch, not Doctor Who!

@missy Thanks. You have not missed a thing by not watching it. I did and each week I was hopeful for improvement. And each week i was let down all the way to a season finale that just completed the misery. I think more people than will admit feel the same but to many scared of this ridiculously stupified PC world and scared of being called a bigit or woman hater for voicing decent. I can all ready see in my mind the message reply I am going to get to this.

@jimthefish I couldn’t agree with you more. It was the perfect season finale for a simply poor and disappointing season of Doctor Who. That could have as easily been any episode this season. RIP S.M. and P.C. I will miss you two with out a doubt.

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, it’s still Doctor Who and I will watch. I just hope the next season gets better. I have no problem at all with a female doctor I just don’t see J.W. changing enough to make me believe she is the doctor. But anyone following P.C. was going to have a ruff go at it. One can only hope for “more” next year.

Well I’m new here and to forums in general. I guess I’m probably in the minority in this thought but I was very disappointed with the new doctor and whole season. I felt like I was watching a remake of Highway to Heaven. Really going to miss Steven Moffet.
