@jphamlore   I wasn’t actually talking about Clara, but comparing Missy and Davros, both twisted geniuses, both capable of understanding the Doctor in some very deep ways.

@ichabod said these things about Davros :    these are the tiny points of light still extant in Davros — that gleam of common humanity  – and then you see Davros’s fear steam-…[Read more]

Thanks for the link.  I hadn’t come across the article in Archaeology, but I was aware of the project.  Norfolk and Suffolk were my professional stamping ground before I retired, and I am familiar with quite a few of the churches.  Norfolk in particular is a good place for investigating the incidence of such graffiti, if only because of th…[Read more]

It is worrisome to me that Clara other than her teaching has no life outside of her travels with the Doctor.

What other life is she supposed to have that we’d see? Seriously? Her family live in Cumbria while she lives in London – and we’ve seen them turn up when Danny died. Her boyfriend died – and while she’s obviously moving on,…[Read more]

  • @Jphamlore – yes, the Doctor called the Valiant ‘Cloudbase’ and there then resulted geek war between Osgood and Colonel Ahmed over whether Cloudbase was from Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet.

I suppose this could have been an incredibly subtle clue that Osgood was actually Zygon!Osgood. 😉 She got it wrong.

One of my ‘wish list’ items is a…[Read more]

  • <span style=”color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;”>@jphamlore– and it was interesting to re-visit Davors’ motivation. Not that I want, particularly, to feel sorry for Davros, but some understanding is helpful. ‘it’s just- the war’, war for his entire life and probably generations before this. The Time War, for context, might have gone on…[Read more]

The night shift have been busy… Lots of lovely bonkers theorising to catch up on over coffee this morning.

@spider Your theory was suitably bonkers indeed. I agree that Missy and Clara are most likely dead as is the Tardis. In order to save them the Doctor must go back, undo his mistake, abandoning Davros and thus teaching Davros that…[Read more]

@denvaldron   On ratings — I’d be curious to see how much of the drop (from Ep 1 S8 to Ep 1 S9) was in US viewership, because S8 came to us without adverts, but S9 ep 1 was chopped to bits so ads could be added — 21 minutes of ads, to be exact, vs. 45 minutes of show.  This idiocy made a very complex and grandly expansive episode very d…[Read more]

Have finally caught up with the episode and read through all the posts with the voices of Davros, the Doctor and Sarah Jane in the background. The boys are watching Genesis of the Daleks in the other room.

Lots of comments on other posts so here goes,

@spider. I was also saddened by the dalekisation of Bors. As pointed out above  I suspect this…[Read more]

Yes, Skaro was inhabited by two peoples, the Thals and the Kaleds. They were involved in a horrific war, and Davros was the chief scientists to the Kaleds. He invented the daleks (a re-working of the Kaled name) to give the Kaleds the advantage (see Genesis of the Daleks). So, if we are back on Skaro, it would be nice to find out what…[Read more]

@jphamlore and if yound davros does indeed die it would change a massive amount of the Doctor’s own history, and we all know what paradoxes mean!

@jphamlore Sorry for getting back so late. I’m only a part time forumer. Great point. I also really like the theory about weeping angels being Time Lords. As if maybe they’re trying to get back into this universe from where the Doctor stuck them and they need all the time fuel or -insert your own Doctor Who jargon- to try to break  back in. That…[Read more]

@jphamlore @Bluesqueakpip I agree — Victorian governess. I see a mad, evil Mary Poppins. And, no, there’s absolutely no sense whatsoever that Missy has any idea of becoming Mum. She just likes being the one in charge. In addition to Clara as a governess, we had Matron Cofelia in Partners in Crime and, of course, the ice governess in The S…[Read more]

@jphamlore – Missy’s appearance isn’t aristocratic. It’s Victorian governess. Now, let’s see – who’s the governess/nanny/teacher around the Doctor. Oh, yeah. It’s Clara. 🙂 Personally, I’m going for ‘Space Dad’ and ‘Space Mum’ for Clara – in that Clara has two perfectly human parents; but she would never have existed if the Doctor and Missy…[Read more]

Love it! Take a day off to do that thing called “work,” and look what is waiting for me!

Just to be clear — this is all speculation (the home page does say that this is the place for it) and I realize that the writers, etc., can and will do whatever they like.  But to…[Read more]

@jphamlore I agree this might also be a possibility especially if it turns out that
