Hi @spider – ah I’m only gently asking as this, because:
((;;/)/)
reminded me of Quinch.
Mind you, that’s how my brain works (hopefully I’ll never have to do a Rorschach test!!)🙂

now, is this the right forum to ask @spider if their signature is a callout to that very wonderful character from 2000AD – Ernest Errol Quinch

if not, no worries but its a lovely sig that could be appropriated for him!

@idiotsavon Those Mr. Men reviews are perfect. Some people are just really, really funny!
@Spider Maybe it’s the iron that’s the fixed point! I might just be using that excuse next time the shirts are piling up. Because, frankly, people in general confer too much meaning on pressed shirts that really, just isn’t there.
So far, I must s…[Read more]

Ha ha, that’s ok then. When I arrive dishevelled and unprepared for work tomorrow, I’ll simply explain that I was very, very busy “conferring meaning that wasn’t there”
And she’ll say “We’ve all been conferring meaning that wasn’t there, but some of us found time to iron our trousers.”
And that will be true on a frightening number of…[Read more]

@janetteb, @spider I re-watched most of Listen last night and I noticed that Orson’s time machine is actually called a Time Shot (it is even written on the walls of the ship). This implies it was meant to just jump to one place and never make a return journey. I suppose they would have had some contingency plan if it ‘shot’ too far, i.e. extra…[Read more]

@spider. I don’t think Orson was being sent to rescue Clara. I was suggesting that he may have had a personal mission which was opposed to his official mission and so he packed the extra chair and tampered with the destination accidentally sending the ship to the end of the universe. Not sure just how he would manage to sneak a spare chair into…[Read more]

@Spider –
OR, Missy is just a physical manifestation of a bad Mary Sue fan fiction where she is in league with the TARDIS saving all the people that sacrificed themselves for the Doctor so when she finally reveals herself to him she can show him nonone died! Rid him of ALL his guilt so he falls in love with her and travels all of time and space…

Whew. Have just spent the past two hours cleaning cat hair out of the keyboard so I could type..
Firstly @Mudlark Your comment at post 31902 re Guardian comments was spot on. I rarely venture there now, because some of the comments make me feel distinctly anti-humanist.
@Spider, Your post of 31913 re’ the second chair. Maybe he hoped to find or…[Read more]

@Oblique –
They’re far too complacent about their successes
I’ve not heard any interviews where Moffat or any of the creative team sound complacent. The fact that Moffat’s scripts “unpack” to the detail they do suggests to me that there’s a lot of thought gone into all his work. Different writers write in different ways – some build fr…[Read more]

@nick1235 In this context, there is no “dumb”, only “bonkers”! Carry on.
@wcasey5 Sorry, I don’t see a mature leg there. If that leg belonged to an adult, said adult has considerably less hair than my fifteen year old son! 🙂
@Spider I think that if there is no monster, then the Doctor was hurt either by flying debris or possibly…[Read more]
