What did anyone think about The Doctor chalking symbols on the bedroom floor?
I wondered if he was trying to calculate a way to send the dynosaur back to her own time.

but the race thing, i don’t think that would affect me, if he changed race. perhaps many other fans would be outraged, but as long as the actor is right (as you say)… and british! the doctor should always have an accent, from somewhere in the isles…
This comment of yours made me think of Lenny Henry , and I found this on YouTube…[Read more]

Re: The Last Day
As there doesn’t seem to be a blog for “The Last Day”……
Was that Christopher Eccleston doing the voice over, or just someone with a very similar accent?

I ate a salmon fillet with veg for my tea, washed down with a bottle of Chilean Cabinet Sauvignon as I watched last night’s “An Unearthly Child”.
Cheers to HTPBDET & to everyone.
Tomorrow’s the AGM of Friends of DalesBus (aka The Yorkshire Dales Public Transport Users’ Group”), then, in the evening, I will be visiting a nearby cinema to see “The…[Read more]

Not bad at all!!!
It’s of its time, but none the worse for that.
However, I was waiting for two of the flint axes to strike each other and create some sparks!!
At least there weren’t any dinosaurs!
BTW I don’t think that Ian’s attempt at rubbing two Boy Scouts (sorry, sticks) together looked very convincing.
ALSO
The radiation meter at the…[Read more]

I couldn’t agree with you more.
An excellent tribute to William Hartnell. It nearly had me in tears!

“…… can there be backward echoes of future events?”
I reckon that this is inevitable if backwards time travel is possible.

Does regeneration-by potion count as one of The Doctor’s official regenerations?

As I can’t attend the annual 50th anniversary Doctor Who booze-up, I have forwarded a higher res. image of my avatar to @Craig for forwarding onwards. I hope that it doesn’t put anyone off their beer etc.
Have a good do.

To All
Thanks, and keep up the good contributions.
I still remember (on another place) a certain Truculent Sheep (formerly known as Alexander) who, when he was criticised, tried to provoke contributors into making inappropriate comments to try and get them banned from the Guardian comments site.
Cheers
Steve

I am afraid that I must admit ignorance on Martin Mull, although, looking at his CV on Wiki, I must have seen him on the telly.
I remembered the record from it being played on the radio years ago, and did a Google search.

My favourite episode of the story.
Lovely use of psychology by the Doctor, and also his hand signals to Jamie.
I hope that the Doctor is never made infallible in future stories. There is always the the fun of working out what is going to go wrong.

Isn’t it interesting that the Guardian’s web site gives this incoherent twaddle prominence on its web page, but only after you open that article do see a link to this much-better article by Terry Pratchett?
