Love you both!! You are awe-inspiring.

    😀

*backs off, in grovelling admiration, for another rewatch!*

And agree with @Brewski‘s comment –

“Davros remembers” what the Doctor did to him. He allowed him to live that awful life.  Curse his compassion!”

(I think I posted something similar, but not so well expressed. Mayb…[Read more]

  • @Brewski BTW we are all pretty clear that MW is being the “Magician’s Apprentice”. And that got me thinking that it might be Romana in a regenerated form she took on the role of someone who was sort of learning […]

  • @Brewski  What better place to get them?!

  • @Brewski  Well, that’s bonkers enough to suit *any*body!

  • ScaryB replied to the topic On The Sofa (6)

    @Brewski

We’ve also had the Doctor working with exactly himself in Almost People (as flesh ganger Matt); and 10 had a bash at it in Series 4’s Journey’s End where his half-human clone/regeneration destroys the Daleks and is then berated by the original before being relegated to Rose’s universe.

@Brewski – as a variation on Capaldi Doctor meeting himself, I’d like him to meet Caecilius again.

The rediscovered Troughton, The Enemy of the World, has a ‘Doctor meeting his double’ plot.

My hand is up!  Thank you for your aneurism! I was thinking about the end of Season 8 + Xmas; maybe we could have a story, late in Season 9, in which the Doctor flat-out loses Clara, totally and forever, and goes as dark as it gets.  I was thinking what if MissyMaster somehow obliterated Clara and inserted *herself* into the Doctor’s t…[Read more]

It’s a wonder that no one’s ever walked in and said “Grandma! What a big sucker you have on your face!”

Explained in-story. Just a few moments of sucker-face passed (except apparently for Clara, where it lasted however long ti took the Doc to Tardis his way to her).

I wouldn’t worry about @fonsini s point. A casual look at his posting history will reveal what he’s about.

I did mean to respond to @brewski s comment earlier in the thread though when he quoted the line about praying.

OMG! Is that how the world sees us?! :O I need to move!

I think in an episode that played a lot on the…[Read more]

@ Arbutus – The Doctor spent a extraordinarily small amount of time when he opened the Tardis doors
expecting some evidence of Galifrey. I still think those numbers ‘might’ mean something but he really
didn’t do a thorough check. If he had would he have discovered a ‘crack’ in the neighborhood or
    something else?

    @Brewski

    Why the non-electronics?

Because they both think the electronics are being tapped?

I’d also enquire why Clara thinks she can’t say what she needs to say when Danny’s here. If we presume that Missy arranged Danny’s accident, then we should remember that the Master has form on tapping/sending messages through mobile phone networks. If…[Read more]

@Brewski – Sorry. I missed a piece of it: The history WE know is the one where the 12th Doctor has come back to ensure they get saved. The ORIGINAL history (that we didn’t know about) had him leave the family behind.

However, there’s no escaping the fact that there have been an awful lot of references to fire. Is it possible that The Doctor saved the wrong family?

He didn’t interfere in Children of Earth and left humanity to handle their own problems. Firstly, humanity failed and as a result, a close friend was forced to murder h…[Read more]

@Brewski Could the Dark Water tanks have anything to do with the repeated mention of Clara’s ability to hold her breath?

That would certainly be “for the dads”, as the euphemism goes, since all non living inorganic material would be rendered invisible by the Dark Water, so all we would see would be skin.

    And eyes.

    Big, big eyes.

  • Arbutus replied to the topic Dark Water

@CathAnnabel   I agree with your thoughts on the phone call. I don’t see this as a future Clara, but pretty much what we are shown: Clara trying to open up with Danny (and possibly including some truth that we aren’t privy to, either!)

@Brewski     Yes, I was thinking of the security lock on my Toyota Matrix. You can’t start the car without the…[Read more]

Re: the Doctor mentioning 2016 in “Forest of the Night”:

Might it mean that there is a possibility that we might re-experience those two years somehow? I keep thinking about Clara in the trailer […]

  • @Brewski

Yes, he did mention 2016. I wondered about that too.

I had another thought about it, but I might post it on the Trailers thread, in case it is a bit spoilery.
