    @kbranagh:

    Looking forward to seeing Mr. Branagh’s Poriot.

    Peter Capaldi is MY Doctor, and I’m not looking forward to a female.

    Heyho, nothng I can do about it is there.

    @kbranagh I also enjoyed it.  I liked the characters and the love story was very cute.

    My least favorite part was the constant brain hinge, and me wondering why no villain ever just shoots the doctor once the gun is aimed?

    Like @missy my favorite part was the Doctor; I think Peter Capaldi is brilliant.   Also, I really liked Nardole.  (: I th…[Read more]

    Great fun wasn’t it. However I disagree. the best thing about the episode was Peter Capaldi as usual, Mr Huffle was second in line. 🙂

    Happy New year.

    Odd, but I’m not so keen on the Rings of Akhaten.
    All the scores from DT and MS are a treat, and Heaven Sent is superb.
    We could talk about him on the Music thread if you like?

    @kbranagh A Kleenex moment if ever I saw one – loved it. As you say, the chemistry was solid and immediate.

    @ichabod The superb and haunting theme written by Murray Gold, made the final scene a champagne moment.

    River. “I hate you!”

    Doctor. “No you don’t.”

    *sniff, sniff,* sorry everyone, but those final words really got to me.

    @kbranagh  Yep, lovely, isn’t it?  A light-hearted romp with a sad but accepting ending.

    @kbranagh I can see them pulling that out of the bag for a big episode. It obviously depends where Jenna Coleman’s career is at that point.

    1). It is 4bn years from the Doctor’s PoV – but Gallifrey is hiding at the end of time, so clearly they had choice of when they went after escaping whatever they escaped from; from their PoV an unknown amount of time has passed;

    2). The Time Lord’s as clearly stated by Rassillon before trying to execute the Doc.

    3). See 1.

    For the third one: Maybe Rassilon put the confession dial in a pocket dimension where time ran at a different speed, so it was 4 billion years where the dial was, but only a couple months or so on their end?

    I mean, the Time Lords can canonically create other dimensions (IE Tardis Interiors) and they are TIME Lords, so maybe it’s…[Read more]

    Heaven Sent is my favourite of the two, but the loving sense of loss and sadness is heart breaking.

    I don’t see how Clara and Ashildr can be the hybrid though. Clara is human – but not a Time Lord, and Ashildr is also human and inmortal, but not a Time Lord.
    To speak truth, I’m not at all sure who the hybrid is/was. My money is still…[Read more]

    Don’t fish, wait. You really don’t want it ruined.

    @kbranagh “I can’t wait for Hell Bent! Sound legendary.”

    Make sure you have the tissues handy, Clara’s facial expression in the cafe is another killer. You will know what I mean when you get to it.

    Amy and Rory died, thanks to the Weeping Angels, with Matt Smith as Doctor.
    Every time I watch Face the Raven I cry, mostly because of the Doctor’s reaction. Peter capaldi kissing Clara’s hand is a real killer. Why is it, that such a simple act can break one’s heart?
    In Hell Bent, it’s more Clara’s reaction, when DW says that if he met…[Read more]

    Anyone who doesn’t want to know which companions have died I suggest you look away now! Hello the ones I can think off are Katarina and Sara Kingdom (first doctor companions). Adric (fifth doctor) and Kamelion (a robot and companion of fifth) all died on the classic series as far as I know!

    Heaven Sent is such a favourite of mine, that I’ve watched it more than any other – except Husbands of River Song.
    However, Face the Raven is Superb, we might see more of Sarah Dollard. Bello bent is wondrful, and like the former two, very, very sad.
    It’s more the Doctor’s reaction than Clara’s. For possibly the second time in his life,…[Read more]

    @kbranagh     @missy and @thedentistofdavros   Mark Gatiss is a great writer and not a bad actor either. He has written some really good episodes of Who and I am a big fan of Sherlock. I think he would make a great show runner but is probably just to busy. I have high hopes for Chibnall.

  • TheDentistOfDavros replied to the topic Sleep No More

    @kbranagh @missy I would have loved Mark Gatiss as the next show runner as I’m a big fan of his work not just on Doctor Who but on his brilliant series the League of Gentlemen, his excellent adaptation of A ghost story for Christmas and of course of him and Moffatt’s great Sherlock series. He is an incredibly imaginative writer and that was one…[Read more]
