I didn’t understand how’s that possible that the stars changed their positions. No one can move the stars except the expansion of the universe which of course is recognisible only with time.

The stars within a galaxy move relative to one another as the galaxy rotates, so over tens of thousands of years the constellations do change. Ove…[Read more]

Thanks for all the prints and images!   It occurred to me that last week we had Diagon Alley

and this week we saw Hogwarts when the stair cases move around.   I’m sure the Potter fans

    loved that!

I’ve been also thinking about Clara being always in his head.   She is his conscie…[Read more]

@mersey  Clara will get some reward and the only reward I can imagine is Danny. (What exactly had happend to his soul after their last meeting? Had it just vanished?).

Depends, doesn’t it?  On that still open questions, what does “soul” mean in Doctor Who?  I don’t recall BG Doctors using the word “soul” this way.  The Doctor seems to be an ath…[Read more]

@mersey  Your theory is very bold.  It makes the Doctor co-evil and co-conspirator with Missy, two villains bringing down a virtuous heroine and her consort — congratulations on bonkerizing far out indeed.

@mersey  Sounds as if I need to entertain myself this coming dead season with a re-watch of Series 5!

    Here’s a thing: I just can’t help myself.

@starla Remember how there was talk (please forgive me if this is a spoiler!!) a while ago about the importance of what pants the Doctor is wearing…

    Oh, your theory is pants!

The depression, I suppose, isn’t too surprising given its life changing nature, but the problem back then was our simply not having a clue what Colin’s behaviour meant. It was only really my coming to terms with the black dog that got me to begin to grasp it, 20 year later.

Puro is having the odd lurk, so our mission to…[Read more]

After reading your Clara comments I think there is something about her addiction

to the adrenaline rush (although not different but much more intense then previous

a  total response to Cap Doc.   What I make o…[Read more]

@soundworld  At first I was stunned and maybe disappointed that her death came about through something so seemingly random, but, it really works. Just another day with the Doctor – but it could happen on any day.

Exactly; this is what she’s basically agreed to by traveling in the Tardis; it could happen to the Doctor that way too (except then th…[Read more]

@mersey Thanks for that link to the Radio Times interview! Reading it, I’m amazed the 50th anniversary special turned out so spectacularly well. Not because of the talent involved; there’s no question there. But because it all seemed to come together at rather the last moment. I figured this had been in the works for years!

A little love for Puro everyone, she is back in the hospital and needs our warm thoughts.  Remember, she was in pain when she wrote that post.  Puro loves the show and this Forum and I’m sure it’s eating at her to be part of any disruption or hurt here.  I think she is just taking a break here because of her illness and stress.  I’m sure she wil…[Read more]

Apologies, perhaps I didn’t make myself clear. I too think Matt Smith’s Doctor can be extremely cheery and bouncy. Some of his stuff is just pure fun. I get the feeling, though, that he is often “putting on a brave face”, and is very, very troubled by the universe around him most of the time. It is more the tone of the…[Read more]

I reckon it’s one of the themes this series, just like ‘afterlife’ was one of the themes last series. There is a reference to either God, gods, messiah, or religious sisterhoods (of Karn) in every series 9 story to date. The Doctor is, of course, our friendly Deus Ex Machina. 🙂

Now, we could be referring to actual gods, or given that…[Read more]

@Mudlark, I second what @Purofilion just wrote. Your wording was “gorgeously said”. In times such as this it is our shared humanity that must be our standard.

@Mersey A lovely quote. I had not heard that poem before. (pity about the sexism though but I guess it was the norm for the time.)

I do like the Paris peace symbol.

I like the theory, that I think I have by now read in multiple places, that the episodes at some point will not be in an order linear in time to when events occurred.  Thus I think it is quite possible that Clara has died in the future but that the Doctor has gone back in time to when Clara was alive to enjoy some final moments with…

As well for Missy. That’s very doctorish.

I don’t think we can say the Doctor has a monopoly on guilt or remorse. Danny, for example, is just one example of a character who carries the guilt and remorse of his actions with him. And those inner consequences are enormously import.
