I loved the special! The Doc pretending to see the inside of the Tardis for the first time – GREAT!!! 🙂 The “Hello Sweetie!” line – Aaaawgh. Great chemistry between River and the Doctor in general. Funny, scary, sad, bad ass – all in one episode. Well done, Mr. Moffat, well done!

After reading the posts about the special and a re-view of it I recognized some references and jokes I oversaw. Thanks for that, guys!

Hi! Just to add something to the conversation now and then: You wrote

the statement “if I had half a brain” a rather foolish insult as it’s not technically possible.

 I’m sorry to contradict, but technically it is possible to have half a brain – and survive. A prominent example is Michelle Mack, who made her state public to encourage others who suffer this deformation. There are more examples, and these people seem to live normal lifes.

I think I found out, what happened to the walking base stations from ‘The Bells of St. John’ after the Doctor was finished with Miss Kizlet – they went into advertising! Saw them in a Calzedonia shop in Cologne.

I enjoyed reading Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and its sequell Hollow City.

It was a spur-of-the-moment buy, I was surprised by the pictures and the storyline.

Young Jacob finds that the stories  his grandfather told him about timetravel and gifted children to be true. He follows the clues and finds the time loop in which these children found shelter from the outside world. Here he gets to know Emma, a girl who can control fire, and falls in love with her (as it seems like his grandfather before).

The storyline follows a series of ancient photographies collected by the author, who depict the name giving peculiar children and their abilities.

The books are told in a fast pace, with fresh ideas, very phantastic ideas and good characters. As every good book does, I regreted every time I had to lay it down (a pity the way to work isn’t longer).

I don’t know “Tommorrows Worlds” (what is it??), but ‘Blade Runner’ is a one in a million movie.

@purofilion I see your point… That movie is absolutely great! Have watched three different cuts and editions in a row recently and still want more… 🙂

Hi there!

I enjoyed the start of the new series and surely was impressed with PC as Doctor! A great performance! Is he going to be a good Doctor? Indeed he will! Did anyone recognize a theme of the newly regenerated Doctors to run around in nightgowns???

I like the TARDIS-intro, being vomitted onto the banks of the Thames by a time-travelling dinosaur, something you don’t see every day. 🙂

Again the Pater Noster Gang is on the spot, I like Strax more and more. Watching Vastra and Jenny flirting away is great and highly entertaining.

I liked the optics of new opening credits, although the new theme music is not that great.

I’m looking forwards to the next episodes…

I find it difficult to ‘locate’ the new series. I see a big gap between The Name of the Doctor and The Day of the Doctor. Did I miss something? (Germany still feels like a blank spot in the Whoniverse

I loved the books and still read them from time to time. I’m laughing out loud about this genius non-sense.

I never had the chance to see any TV- or movie-production before the newest version with Martin Freeman, so I cannot compare, but I liked it (come on, Bill Nighy as Slartibartfast is a scream!).

Never knew that it also was a radioprogramme. How is it???

I’m new to the idea of participating in a forum like this. I’m quite new to the Doctor’s Tale/Epic. And I must tell you, I’m sort of intimidated, well at least baffeled.

I have read most of your posts discussing episodes and I feel like I didn’t watch them at all. All these references you guy notice… I feel compelled to watch all again and take notes. 🙂

I have watched all episodes with the Weeping Angels again and had some thoughts about the danger they impose. Maybe I’ll get burnt as heratic, but I was wondering, why nobody thought of smashing them to pieces???!!! As the Doctor explains they are quantumlocked and literally turn to stone. So don’t blink and get a hammer…

As I would like to see Jenny return, what about Jenny getting adopted by Wilfred and befriending the unknowing Donna?

While looking for Dad, she could think of asking Donna for information on his whereabout. Wilfred is still star-gazing, sees her landing. Jenny finds Donna’s memories wiped,but gets some news from Wilfred and she stays with them (?)

She even could be reunited with the Doctor and form a group like in the old days : Doctor + Susan + companion(s).

Well, I have some flashes of memories watching Doctor Who in the late 80s on one of the new private TV stations in Germany. It was Sylvester McCoy I think. I liked it a lot, but -Germans didn’t like it apparently- they canceled it after a few month.

I got back in touch with  the show, when the first series of the reboot was released on DVD in Germany – a year or so AFTER the rest of the world.

Thanks to imported UK discs I have seen the seven series of the reboot and my favourite Doctor is David Tennant, but Matt Smith at his heels closely. My favourite episode is ‘Blink’, I think. And of course I love ‘The Lodger’. 😉

I’d like to see the Doctor’s daughter again.

In the older series I’m still stuck with the Hartnell stuff, which is not easy to watch and to appreciate if you only know the reboot. There I liked ‘The Romans’ and ‘The Time Meddler’ best so far. But as the list above suggests, I haven’t seen the good ones yet…
