    This episode was promised within some article a while ago. I think it was an interview with the Moff & he spoke about something along the lines of ‘Dr Who the Musical’ coming soon. Like many ‘spoilers’, I forgot all about having read it – even after having watched the show. But it just popped back in my head.

    Perhaps Clara’s (Mum’s) ring is a bio-dampener (as seen in the Runaway Bride & in SJA the Empty Planet).

    Maybe Clara’s biological Dad is a Tharil! (Don’t quote me!)

    Also – has anyone noticed the giant chicken feet in next week’s ad? Presumably they’re what’s inside the armour of the Ice Warrior (3 digits per hand).

    Okay – I’ll try a negative outlook:

    I can sort of see the gist of why the concensus didn’t like this one. The Smilie Sun has maybe pushed things too far from scary to silly. I don’t understand peoples  problems with the plot (other than space physics & ‘Which is the planet & which is the Sun?’). I think part of the problem is initial expectations – we see loads of aliens and expect them to feature a lot but there’s only time for the barker.  ‘Possibilities that will never be’.

    Including homages to old favourites such as Indiana Jones & Blade Runner can encourage some to form the idea that ‘this is a poor copy. People don’t see amazing special effects – they see Underworld 2.

    I’m all for honest opinion- to get it ‘over there’ I’d need the Troll-goggles from Hellboy 2…

    Clara is impossible because she reincarnates. But so does the Dr (well he regenerates).

    Are we heading back to the half-broken chameleon-arch plot?

    Is it an Egyptian thing (there seems to be some dispute about Egyptian belief in reincarnation as we know it)?

    The Voice just used the 2 Steps From Hell track from the series trail on their new ad! Big Brother will be using it next (followed by a revived Merlin).

    Gruniad vibe= Dr Who is worse than Hitler, Ghengis Khan & Jedward combined.

    Lots of pee-ple seem to be narked that the Dr keeps giving us this ‘I have terrible deadly secrets’ speech. Only this is the 1st time he’s said it. Kovarian & Dorium have suggested such to the Dr before. It’s obviously there to inform new series watchers that the Dr’s (name is) potentially Apocalyptic.  As fans know we have been promised that the Dr’s identity will be revealed this year(though somehow without saying it at all probably).

    Dear BBC, I just cannot take to Shane Ritchie as the host of Jim’ll Fix It. Much as we may look back with some concern to the era of the previous incumbent, it was undeniably event television. Nobody can deny the profile of the original host. Even a poor innocent man was mistaken for him in the Inferno Club in the 1960s.

    Shane Ritchie is a fine presenter, but let’s just face it – it’s not the show it once was. The new production team have alienated the lowest common denominator and that is the most offensive thing of all.

    I suppose I’ll have to rely on the family friendly Jim Davidson for a Saturday Tea-Time we can all enjoy.

    Sorry I’m late. I was busy enjoying the ‘Ghost of Confidential’ & the Cold War advert on the Official Site.

    So now we know why Clara doesn’t walk away from bereaved children.

    The Dr was ready to defend himself with Venusian Karate on meeting an even younger Clara!

    There is a creature that looks like an ancestor of the Ood & the Hath.

    So the ‘finale villain’s are a sort of Snowmen version 3 (2 being the Yeti)?

    I’m not sure what the GI plan actually is – other than to get a template for a humanoid & proceed to escape & possess/become everything including humans and technology – oh & possibly still devour the Dr’s mind. If humanity is Burger King then the Dr must be a delicacy!

    I predict the Dr’s name is Zodin (the Terrible)! I also forsee the ‘Cyber-Family’ in Gaiman’s ep. (We know we’re getting a Cyber-Something).

    Not hysterical puns &  general terror? Actually I quite like the C/GI theory!

    Why was there a 9th Dr who looked like Dr Simeon? Was that spatial multiplicity?  Does the Shalka Dr become possessed by the GI? Did he break through from a parallel dimension? If Clara means light then will she also represent truth? Will the Dr start wearing a Jammie Dodger on his lapel for it’s ‘restorative powers’?

    Did the Demon that is the GI get planning permission for ‘The Great Plan’? Who from?

    My guess is Matt Smith will stay on 1 more year along with the Moff.  Then the Dr will regenerate. Let’s watch this year & see if there’s a hint of who could take over as Producer in 2015…

    The Dr will give up his TARDIS for a new one however – in the shape of a Nando’s. Very hip just now.

    So ‘The Lord of Winter’ is a painting of a seascape in the book. And it is a puzzle. The Lord of Winter is very probably a reference to the GI. Amy probably wrote the book sometime after River experiences the end of this season & if River is still alive by then she probably tells Amy the story.

    But my question is – Is the book you can buy soon the same as the book in the show? Because the Melody Malone book wasn’t apparently.

    It’s only coming out as an ebook just now (annoying) but these have been ending up on audio too.

    I for one would like it to be the actual book that’s in the show, as it’s obviously a puzzle too…

    Dear BBC. I watched The Voice last night & I must say I was disappointed.

    The plot was so threadbare you could drape it over a lit light bulb & not burn your house down. Admittedly the last series was the best TV I have ever seen but this last episode must’ve been conceived by a Headless Monk. Tom Jones has suddenly taken to boasting about his previous collaborations and the judges have become ego-maniacs overnight. Jessie J wasn’t bald and we weren’t supposed to notice?

    I have loved every tv talent show ever aired up until now but this particular show was the diametric opposite of what makes a good talent programme – the ‘Anti-Voice’ if you will… I personally hope that everyone involved right down to the scene-shifters and tea-ladies all die slowly of some hideous agonising disease for unleashing this detritus upon an unsuspecting public.

    Therefore I shall not be watching it again (until next week).

    Dear BBC, The Bells of St John has clearly confirmed Dr Who to be blasphemous. Clara = the divine figure, a sort of holy trinity who is reborn at Easter.

    Also – a thought – when Jesus visited his disciples after his death he appeared in the form of  a different man yet they knew it to be him – remind you of anyone? (Time Lords)

    Next you’ll be telling me that the GI is in fact The Papal Mainframe!

    Dr Who has had an Atheist agenda since it’s return. So Clara’s similarities to Christendom are obviously a further mockery. And by the way, monks ARE cool!

    Anyway, for these reasons I opt out from viewing Dr Who in any of it’s formats again.

    Dear BBC, in the new trailer the Dr & Clara are seen riding a vehicle in space with no spacesuits or protection. I know you’ll probably say it’s a gravity bubble or something but it’s impossible & as we all know Dr Who is about science fact. Therefor I shan’t be tuning in again.

    Dear BBC, in the new trailer for next week’s episode, when the Dr flips backwards – if you freeze on one particular frame you can tell that it’s really the stunt double. Therefor I have decided to never watch Dr Who ever again. x

    I thought The Bells of Saint John was a very good ep. Everyone’s forgetting who the Dr is, including himself but the GI knows him (& he doesn’t know the GI any more). The enemy is located using social networking. Then super-intelligent Clara is fully integrated with the GIs datacloud foodsource. Is this why the GI & Clara are so linked (e.g. why she could defeat the snow)?
