@all Hope you’re all having a great holiday and have a great year ahead. Thank you all for making this forum such an enjoyable glass house to peer in at. My nose has left quite a mark on some of your windows. (pub/window analogy courtesy @whisht I think).
14 December 2013 at 19:03 #22806@alloftimeandspace Hi neighbor! I’m from India, and I completely understand your problems. We don’t even have BBC here any longer. There is no chance Doctor Who will ever be broadcast on my tv again (Unless the british economy improves and they begin broadcasting here again). Nor can I buy the latest or earlier seasons on DVD since only Hollywood blockbusters are available in the stores (or online). Not sure where I’m going with this, but just wanted to say you’re not alone in trying to sustain and expand your Doctor Who fandom in the absence of easy legal access to the series.
But as others have pointed out this is not a file sharing site. Living in this corner of the globe I’m sure you have figured out ways and means to access entertainment that geography/history/economy etc denies us. So watch whichever way you can, support it legally whenever possible and come here and discuss your thoughts and bonkers ideas here (or just lurk if you’re shy like me).

@osakahatter We did see 10 (Tennant) quite explicitly become 11 (Smith) at the end of End of Time. The only one we haven’t ‘seen’ regenerate is McGann to Eccleston.
11 May 2013 at 18:28 #8568@craig Love the exploding TARDIS (TARDII, Tardises?) favicon (I believe). I think that’s very apt for all the bonkers theorising going on here. Maybe one day we will be able to explain to ourselves why there were three (or two) or they will all coalesce into one. And thanks again for hosting this party.

Just saw this, I think some version of Polaris’ speculation above is going to be true.

I read that about the previews earlier but never made that connect. I am all kinds of excited at that thought.
6 May 2013 at 18:15 #8036@Shazzbot, @bluesqueakpip I thought the cot was the Doctor’s own baby cot. I had kind of assumed that was something he picked up as a memento of his childhood/family on some trip to Gallifrey (maybe during the Time War?).

here be spoilers….
I think.
I just saw this on Twitter:

(I hope this works)
So 1 or atleast a visit to previous companions ?
1 May 2013 at 09:15 #7342@bobbingbird @thebadfairyprincess I’m quite sure those are the doctors feet and they are visible (on the 11th viewing) even before Tricky points them out. Tricky refers to the TARDIS as being alive and suffering rather than Clara.
@bluesqueakpip I don’t know if Clara Is the Doctor but besides finishing his sentences in the exploded TARDIS engine room she seems to be mirroring him physically (I noticed this in the scene when the fuel rods are falling down), the slight cock of the head before running and they way they both stop running. So maybe she is becoming the Doctor?
28 April 2013 at 17:16 #7054@shazzbot I though the zombie in the library and the storage room was the Doctor zombie trying to prevent Clara from exploring things she shouldn’t. The library zombie had a hand on its mouth the same as the zombie in the engine (?) room towards the end, mimicking the Doctor on the bridge.
In addition to the photograph that changes on the ship, the rag the Doctor is using to clean up at the end looks like the same cloth Tricky used in the beginning. That means..?
27 April 2013 at 18:43 #6886@shazzbot – I think Life, the Universe and Everything is a re-fashioned Doctor Who script. I have no idea if I read that somewhere or imagined it myself. Daleks are quite polite too, and always tell you what they are going to do prior to doing it. I don’t think they had any interest in organised physical activities, or had a planet with no night sky so yes the analogy is a might be a bit thin but it makes re-reading the book a lot of fun!
On the other hand, aren’t Zaphod and Ford Prefect just a mish mash of the Doctor and Master? Zaphod steals a ship to go see the universe and impress girls and Ford hitchhikes around. They both have companions they semi-kidnap. And they knew each other as kids/are related/got up to funny business in school!
Maybe the Doctor’s name is just something like Ix (Betelguese 6 for The boy who cannot pronounce his own name and cannot adequately explain why a H’rung collapsed on Betelguese 5) and he no longer remembers because he could’nt pronounce it in the first place.
I’m very shy so thanks all for the welcome!
27 April 2013 at 09:57 #6820Hello guys, I’ve been lurking in these corridors for the past few weeks. I came here guided by cryptic messages on the Guardian Doctor Who pages (where I’ve been lurking for aeons). I just wanted to thank you all for this wonderful space you have all created.
I came to Doctor Who via a Douglas Adams childhood, so I’m only really acquainted with post 2005 Who. This is one of the most non-judgemental spaces I’ve found to discuss the show. I love all your theories and you’ve got me watching the current season over and over again looking for clues.
Nothing more concrete to add to the conversation right now, just wanted to say hello!
