@arbutus

Oh very true. River was convinced that he would still have the MS face, not realising that “A thing” had happened.

Cheers,

Missy

@arbutus  . . . .return to the Doctor of old, who said farewell to his companions with gratitude and affection, wished them well for the future, and then moved on, the carefree wanderer of old.

In some ways, I think that would be a great move, though maybe more suited to Chibnall than Moffat . . . ?  They have, after all, pushed the heavy-duty e…[Read more]

Very high! I remember MG saying once, that he wanted his music to make people cry – or words to that affect/effect (never get that word right) – and it does.

One can only hope that MG continues to write for DW – or am I being selfish?

Cheers

Missy

Hello everyone and thanks for all your answers! Someone mentioned having the engineer as a companion I think it was @ichabod and I thought that’s a great idea as I really liked his character and really like Frank Skinner and I’m pretty sure if Skinner was offered it he’d take it as I heard when he got the call to star in Doctor Who he was in the…[Read more]

@thedentistofdavros Matt Smith has that Fred Astaire ability to “bring up the room” and brighten the moment.  Very rare quality, that is so enjoyable to watch.

@arbutus Romana 2 is one of my favourite companions, I should have included her on my list.  I guess I felt the 4th had less tension with Sarah Jane Smith, but on the other hand, tension c…[Read more]

@arbutus Thanks! I think 12 may be favourite too, if I had to pick because like @winston I always like the current Doctor. @missy  Hope Capaldi stays on for at least 5 more seasons.  🙂

Also, like @thedentistofdavros I can’t understand not watching because of a companion or Doctor.  That’s what seems fickle to me.  The show casts the best of t…[Read more]

@Whisht  @Arbutus  @Bluesqueakpip    Thanks!   Fingers crossed and touching wood, but if the op this time is as successful as when I had the other hip done ten years ago I should, by late summer, be leaping about like a mountain goat  🙂

@puroandson @ichabod @mudlark @janetteB @pedant @whisht @fatmaninabox @arbutus @jimthefish @phaseshift and all of you who I’ve forgotten or don’t have time to include. Happy Easter to you all too. I fully intend to be back to normal service after this little seasonal break, which has allowed me to get my breath back. Tomorrow night I’m going to…[Read more]

@arbutus Is it any particular Romana or just the character in general as I always thought they were both very good though I haven’t watched Lalla Ward Romana for a while now

@kharis The eleventh doctor is brilliant for bringing out the best in people even the guest characters he seems to have chemistry with everyone!

@kharis @ichabod @arbutus @winston

Hear, hear to all of you.

Cheers,

Missy

@Arbutus Thanks! Yeah, Smith to me was Old but ignoring it (mostly) and very “boyish” and physical as part of that act. At times CapDoc remindsed me of Peter O’Toole, specially playing T.E. Lawrence — as a man who’s missing some invisible but protective layer of skin, so he tends to recoil from physical contact as a form of self-defe…[Read more]

@arbutus  Love your Dalek story!

@puroandson   @arbutus   I have always liked the companion lite stories and also the Tenant specials where he had a new companion each episode but I wouldn’t want an entire series like that. I agree that a male buddy would be nice but who nose? I have rarely been close on any guess or theory. I would still like to see River now and then but not…[Read more]

@arbutus   @tardigrade           This episode showed us that the Doctor could get pretty angry and frustrated with his companion , although he is quick to forgive. I think Rose was much more the “puppy” to the ninth Doctor, scolded and forgiven because she didn’t know any better.She was after all  , only human.  The romantic type of relationship…[Read more]

How weird he looks with this beard and black, leather coat singing (almost) like a castrato.

Funny thing. Only yesterday I was deleting some single tracks from my phone and I was to delete one of them but I left it because it was Sholl’s Ombra mai fu.

I honestly can’t believe that anyone would remember my birthday and then that they would send me a song.

I am absolutely humbled.

Having a stalker is a truly fantastic birthday gift.

Now, @puroandson and @arbutus – you really have given me some fantastic birthday tunes (and I am humbled) and now I owe you both.

@puroandson, @winston and @arbutus My dearly beloved laptop is now six years old and people say the same to me. The battery is utterly dead so I have to take extension cords everywhere the laptop goes and I am always checking out cafes etc for power points. I have no intention of replacing it before I absolutely have to though a little tablet…[Read more]

@arbutus @thedentistofdavros @puroandson @ichobod When we were discussing Logolopolis on the music three it occurred to me I don’t have a very creative explanation for the Watcher.  I have a strange sort of unformed idea that it is a part of himself, but that seems almost too conventional.

What are the member’s of the Forum’s ideas and theories…[Read more]
