@doctorcapaldi wouldn’t be the first time, Rose and the transmat beam, Missy and Clara…
21 November 2015 at 21:03 #47436Oooh but PC was the best Doctor I’ve seen him be, rapturous applause.
21 November 2015 at 21:01 #47435Well done Moffet scrap the sonic screwdriver, now dump the TARDIS, brilliant what will you think of next, slow applause applause.
26 September 2015 at 21:51 #43474Ah that’s understandable @bluesqueakpip , I’d just not noticed before and with all the Missy stuff going on wondered if I’d missed a sneaky Mof.
26 September 2015 at 21:48 #43473@ScarB I’m sure you’re right, just never quite trust Moffat to keep with the norm, ie gender switching Time Lords were once not even on the radar.
Episode also made me think of ‘Inside Dalek’ both with Clara being inside a Dalek again, and the possibility of a good Dalek – Clara was a good Dalek
Didn’t get to see any more of the human Dalek who discovered the TARDIS.
26 September 2015 at 21:23 #43465Er was it just me, but the Doctor seems to have acquired a ring on the third finger of his left hand this series?
Would be totally Moffat if Clara turns out to be Doctor/Missy daughter. I guess if the sonic screwdriver is expendable he’ll soon be retiring the TARDIS too.
11 October 2014 at 21:54 #33375@juniperfish so right, PC just incredible, was captivated by 12 already but this episode took it to another level. Felt from the beginning of this series that 12 had so much to reveal and to give. Only 4 more episodes, then its the box set and novels.
I’m not sure about Clara now, liked her with 12 at the beginning, but through the series and now with her on/off yes/no towards 12 is a bit insensitive.
31 August 2014 at 22:22 #30852From this episode, I’m thinking that Missy is Charlotte Abegail Lux from FotD. There’s also the use of real faces on the library nodes connection to DB. (If someone has already said this apologies, I’ve read most posts).
@Purofillion could be, maybe Clara is another Clariccle and unware of her true time age, thinks she’s only 27?
@devilishrobby, I saw the crack, thought hmmm, then dismissed as over-active imagination – but now…
Enjoying reading all your theories, agree with so many.
30 August 2014 at 20:40 #30677@Bluesqueakkpip that line <b>You would make a good Dalek</b> was also used in the episode ‘Dalek’ with the 9th Doctor.
30 August 2014 at 20:37 #30676@bluesqueakpip There is a story, I think its in the 50 Anniversary collection of 11 stories one for each Doctor, where there is an alternate timeline with only good Daleks, it was caused by the TARDIS trying to escape from a Supernova or something. The Doctor ‘corrected’ this and reverted to our known timeline.
25 August 2014 at 21:19 #30255@IAmNotAFishIAmAFreeMan thanks for the link, I have been researching on Wiki which has filled in a few gaps. (apologies all for repeated post, still getting used to the site.
25 August 2014 at 21:13 #30253@IAmNotAFishIAmAFreeMan thanks for the link, I have been researching on Wiki which has filled in a few gaps!
25 August 2014 at 14:00 #30178@Evs I don’t think any Doctor Who line is ‘throw away’ they are great at going back making links and developing ideas from it, so you could be right.
25 August 2014 at 13:55 #30176<span style=”color: #000000;”>@Timeloop thanks my knowledge gaps seem to be:</span>
<span style=”color: #000000;”>Dream Lord – who is this?</span>
Some have said the ‘River Song’ story finished, what happened to her in the end? In Silence in the library she said of 10 I’ve never seen you this young, then we got 11 so she couldn’t have meant him – which ‘older’ Doctor could have taken her to the Singing Towers?
How did Vaspra, Jenny and the Sontaron end up together and what’s their connection with the Doctor?
Clara negotiating with the Time Lords through the crack? – is that the crack from the 11th hour.
The Doctor says he is 2000 years old last time I knew he was about 900?
The whole Trensalor thing lost me?
Any enlightenment would be great.
I’m looking forward to our new Doctor, already looking great.
24 August 2014 at 15:20 #30068Lol @timeloop that made me laugh, you are so right. I loved 9 and 10 (and classic 3,4,5) 11 just never grabbed me. I’m so looking forward to getting onboard again with 12. ‘Though I think I’m going to need an essential potted history of 11 as some of this is going over my head.
24 August 2014 at 12:08 #30046@janetteb yes oomph, that was the word I was looking for. Liked the graphics but miss the BOOM! at the end.
23 August 2014 at 23:44 #30019@j0hn52 we were spoilt with RTDs incredible stewardship over the script and production 1-5. SM does seem to favour a very ‘timey-whimey’ approach to plotting, but a new delivery could make all the difference as Capaldi settles into the role and really claims it.
23 August 2014 at 22:20 #29999Fantastic, so glad 12 got new titles and a brand new TARDIS decor, he deserves it. Capaldi is going to be a brilliant Doctor and certainly us ‘Baby Boomers’ have no problem with the Doctors new face! I’m looking forward to an accomplished actor delivering the compassionate side of the Doctor while giving gravitas to the immense enemies he must overcome. 12 connects well with classic series doctors 3 and 4, and also 9 and 10 all much admired incarnations.
Clara fulfilled her companion role well, as companions are vital in verifying the new Doctor to the viewer. 11’s phone call kind of undermined her, questioning her ability to do this on her own
Very happy.
