@Rob Well in the eternal triangle of Bucks, Oxon and Northamptonshire where the winds blow, the rain cascsdes and the earth slowly liquifies into a soul sapping gelatinous ooze….
Does it continue to ooze all the way down the M40 to coagulate on the M25? This would explain a lot…

@Apopheniac I’m with you re Danny. I think he was a damaged PTSD ex soldier who just wanted a quiet life! I’ve got my fingers x’d that we’ll get Sam Anderson back as Orson 🙂

Re Cybermen “deleting emotions” – hat tips to @Apopheniac @Rob @BadWulf @PhaseShift and anyone else I missed:
There are a number of possible reasons why Missy et al wanted people to voluntarily delete their emotions before becoming Cybermen. As @PhaseShift says, people have been known to resist Cyber conversion throughout the years. Missy may h…[Read more]

Hello @BadWulf
I interpreted this as the Master creating an army for the Doctor using “volunteers”, as the Doctor would probably have had more difficulty taking ownership of a conscript army.
Interesting idea. I hadn’t considered that – I went for ‘The Master is so cold-heartedly evil she laughs at making humans delete their emotions.’ OTOH,…[Read more]

Next up Osgood death. Her death had already served it’s dramatic purpose. It was final and complete. If she is bought back by some timey wimey Doctor stuff it won’t affect the dramatic theme of Death in Heaven, just as River appears post Silence in the Library doesn’t decrease the sacrifice she made for the Doctor.
I think this is a really…[Read more]

@Arbutus I did not have time to respond to your post #3519 yesterday, but returning to the discussion of whether or not Missy’s ‘choosing’ of Clara involved a paradox loop: you said
I wonder if Missy somehow avoided ending up in the Time-Locked Gallifrey? Possibly dying and regenerating in the process?
That would certainly resolve the pa…[Read more]

@Rob. Where do you get your coffee? It’s clearly a superior brew to that which I’m drinking. 🙂 (Don’t tell Seb but right now I’m back to instant.)
I agree that Danny will stay dead but either something of his DNA will become Orson or Orson will turn out to be a long lost twin so that Clara gets a chance of redemption because right now she is…[Read more]

Been catching up with the oh so many posts. So much good chat, haven’t quite got my head round all the current bonkers.
I had barely recovered from almost snorting beer out my nose at @Phaseshift ‘letter to the BBC’ about trolls when I then came across the post from @Whisht and well, lets just say I wishI had some sort of respiratory bypass…[Read more]

Evening all,
@PhaseShift – I also noticed the wolves and tiger in the museum and then, later, the predators in the forest happen to be wolves and a tiger. It seems a strange coincidence, but then it could be just a coincidence. But the closer I look at this episode the more I get a sense of someone making this up (or parts of it, at least) as…[Read more]

@Rob Really interesting, take it you’re a River fan too, or did that surprise you too.
I do rather like River, but, yes, I was also surprised that the episodes with her in were ones that I consistently appreciated much more highly than average.
@blenkinsopthebrave @DrBen @thommck In other news – I have now emailed the spreadsheet to @Craig, so…[Read more]

@JanetteB I do like Clara’s development so far this series, and I’ve said the same as you that as fictional characters, none of the characters need to be role models. I’m more of a mind that Clara’s lying will motivate Danny to do something (follow her perhaps) that puts him in danger – Missy’s collecting soldiers after all – and that Clara will…[Read more]

Excellent episode. Lots to like in this one. It really has been an excellent series this year. I agree with @Blenkinsopthebrave in that it seems to be very much a stand alone while running with the general themes of the series. Compliments must go to the writing team and to Moffat for maintaining those thematic elements through the various…[Read more]

@purofilion – I thought it was ‘sing with the orphans’. I hate to join the ranks of those who can’t understand accents outside New York/LA/received pronunciation/Australian capital cities… but I have to admit, a couple of times per episode I’m just guessing at what the Doctor’s saying. This isn’t unique to Doctor Who, though — when watching…[Read more]

I am a time traveller is literally the phone number as phone are alphanumeric
I just had my second viewing – he writes something (presumably the tel no) on the paper, folds it over, then writes ‘I am a time traveller’ on top of the folded over bit.
I’m sure Psi has the number too since Dr was doing the ‘phone me’ gesture, but I’d tend to…[Read more]

Unfortunately I saw very little of what Brown said on Sky News. I don’t disagree with you about politicians, but there is a difference between giving them a hard time in an interview (for which the journalist needs to be very well briefed on the topic to be able to bring out the facts or counter-arguments) and most interviews we see on TV…[Read more]
