@cathannabel

“It rings bells....”  That reminds me of what @whisht said regarding @Blenkinsopthebrave & The Persuaders  theme.

A literary fugue -that sounds compelling! Text & music is very interesting isn’t it? Lyrics and choons or secular (initially French: between 600-1300) ) and  sacred musics and texts are powerful combinations across th…[Read more]

The Cath is Back! Agreed @whisht it’s a beautiful film. I didn’t really want to see it. @pedant suggested it. It blew our minds. The language, the prediction of the language is astounding: if a musical piece is extant but at the same time composed with the fullness and completeness of the composition unwinding in front of you, all of…[Read more]

Now, now The Whister.  If you have to be grumpy -then absolutely. In fact, you’ve never been grumpy (look at me, a total juvenile complaining about cleaners: unbelievably silly of me) here. Never ever. So, occasionally, vent whenever you like -as long as our emperor agrees & doesn’t lop off your head. After all, I’ve…[Read more]

@whisht  Yes, I feel for you.  I know that his improv of that speech was incredible but when you look all over the rest of the ‘net’ it’s pretty much “the iconic speech” when there are so many. Still, I am moved when I read it, too.  The web has a tendency to take over, get tangled, or repeat -well, like a web, really 🙁

I’ve seen things you pe…

@arbutus  He was a monumental performer wasn’t he? Indelibly attracted to his audience & effortlessly so.

@whisht sorry for posting thrice but I love Ringo’s beautiful tambourine. The master that’s often forgotten has a spectacular bit of solo tambourine following a 2nd middle 8 on repeat.

@pedant yonks ago I was writing about music notation…[Read more]

Ah forgot the link  link

@whisht Ooh interesting! When I was younger I wasn’t in on the day ‘tripper’ joke.  but I don’t think anyone understood that for awhile- a year or two anyways   🙂

Popularity went to We can Work it Out  – -which kinda fits the Trip Home too. It was the longest song, thus far, they’d worked on…..so …that’s a link (**)

sorry 12 1/2 mins  to soft touch down -that’s incredible.

& I’m still on 6000km p/h in under 20 mins to slow down for first contact

wow.

@blenkinsopthebrave

Well, that was bracing! I had a rotten headache, overdid the codeine & in holding the laptop, every few seconds it would slip as I’d fallen asleep. Until I heard those two……artistic & unique pieces. Not exquisite exactly but adding something to the firmament nonetheless. I hadn’t heard them before….I feel my learning…[Read more]

Believe me, I was one of the annoying people at 21 (and at 14-15) saying “LISTEN to these dudes” -Police.

I would not have used the word dudes, actually. (()-())

That’s a great chuune, imho.  “keep it up”

The Floyd’s amzing & yep egos were huge with Gilmour & d’rest.

I had a crush on Gilmour when I was very young & silly.

OK, that happened. It’s happening to Mum too so I won’t edit it. When we do it disappears 50% of the time.

Have I broken the world wide web?

This is Syzygy the younger: thankfully your VD pops up in mum’s  inbox auto.

Absolutely great blog &, again, Mum had no idea at all that 30 seconds referred to fuel. And “contact light”  -loved the analogy. I’m going to listen to it again. We did spend, maybe 10 minutes discussing the moon landing in history -7 minutes, really with the i…[Read more]

@whisht you mentioned theremin….

A few people might not know it’s an instrument you play by not touching it.

Glad you liked her. There are some issues with female singers which are entirely a problem I have only. SO many I can listen to and absolutely adore but a whole CD of? Nope. That’s why Vinyl was good -listen to 6 tracks, have a rest….

Following on from not knowing things….when Laylan asked about the viewfinder, I was thinking “yeah, uhn.  Why not, then, mm?”

I love his answer. It’s not a lack of English that causes him to stumble, it’s the nature of the…[Read more]

That’s something unknown to me -the ‘odds.’ Heck a holy moly.

The book The Knowledge Illusion is similar -talks about how, in one experiment, a sampled group, when asked to draw a bicycle, left off important things. The bike didn’t need a basket or even a light but it certainly needed  -axel, bearings, brackets…

@Blenkinsopthebrave  indeed they do. Young syzygy returned to school on the 15th. I’ll check on the QLD school’s  archive, though.

I love how barely a month after the moon landing Woodstock happened. And then August 26-31 was the Isle of Wight Festival. 150 000 people there? Not sure. But around then The Stones had ‘Honky Tonk Women’ and Zager a…[Read more]

@whisht gorgeous. I remember an unpleasant musician friend (we stopped the friendship a long time ago) who didn’t like the Project: not enough “head voice” which is a) wrong and b) who cares! It was something so very special for those people involved.

Now, not enough love for Lennon here. Also, we need a lady so I offer this.
