Really hoping this is just someone having a laugh !!!!
8 September 2015 at 04:12 #42432@lisa Me too. I like the idea of meeting a future incarnation of the Doctor but as his “incarnations” maybe infinite then it can be done without ever using that actor/incarnation again. After all we know that sometime in the future he will reincarnation into an elderly Tom Baker but I am quite sure that will never happen on screen. It would be good if Big Finish ran with that however and did a few curator Doctor stories.
Fingers crossed P.C. will do at least two more series.
Cheers

8 September 2015 at 18:16 #42447I too hope this is a massive hoax, but being realistic keeping an actor of Capaldi’s caliber for more than two or three years will be a minor miricle unless he has been locked in on a long term contract. This would be very unlikely at least he has given us more than Ecclestone and will not be likely to make the same mistake of not be willing take part in conventions etc post departure. The only actor/ress who are likely to stay for a long period are those that are relative unknowns before they take on the role. The news that the 2016 is to be a series of 3 specials if true is worrying as its previous precedence in the Tenant era ended in his leaving. As to the propersition that we may be getting a preview of a future regeneration or even the new doctor this would actually be an interesting plot line for an exit story especially if the new doctor is not explicitly introduced as such until the very end of the story but is more of a mysterious character like the watcher in the Baker/Davidson handover.

@devilishrobby I had no idea there were three specials designed for 2016! How annoying.
But. I suspect if that’s the case then it may be as you suggest, the Doctor (like Tennant) going off on individual and discrete episodes without a companion, “an idiot in a box, saving people” but doing it on his own until his regeneration. I thought when Tennant left it was definitely time: he nearly overstayed his welcome, in my opinion.
But I liked the fact I was immersed in Smith’s doctor for all those years and that he claimed 2 sets of entirely different companions. It was interesting to see him work fully thru that role particularly during the anniversary specials and the wonderful Time of the Doctor.
On another thought, I believe a Who schedule is exhausting but to my mind I don’t think Capaldi would leave due to that: for other projects, possibly, but I would’ve thought, as a life long fan, he’d be willing to give it a full three years -as in 2016 with 12 episodes and a Christmas Special.
Equally, it could be a showrunner change with the individual specials providing adequate hand over time.
@lisa thanks for the article! Yes, I wonder about all those details too. A young future doctor would be really fun, actually, as we might never see him again: perhaps the next consecutive Doctor will indeed be female (“OMG” go the ARSE lot!).
9 September 2015 at 00:30 #42451My niece called me with very important information! She was very excited to tell me
that starting next Wednesday BBC America is going to do the Who marathon again.
24 hour Who stating with New Earth all the way up thru to the new episode Saturday
night. Unfortunately she lives in New York and I’m in California so we cant share
jelly babies 🙁 Anyway, I also promised her to cautiously leak this out for
all the States fans on this forum. 😉9 September 2015 at 01:09 #42452Anonymous @
@TheConsultingDoctor
I didn’t read your long post from August until just now and thought it deserves a comment:
Boy, did you do a lot of work proving “who died and who was resurrected.”
Is this a bad thing, though?
I don’t believe that we haven’t had a balance of loss versus ‘relief’ in Who, overall?
I suppose that there’s something to be said for looking at Who over the past 10 years and seeing the tremendous loss of certain characters whether introduced by another writer or our current showrunner.
Certainly the loss of Rose at the end of Tennant’s first series was sufficiently heartbreaking as was Donna Noble’s loss of memory. Even the death or lack of regeneration of The Master (played by Sim) was quite moving. I see it as an overall balance across the re-boot period rather than what Moffat himself feels he can contribute. I’m not denigrating your opinion or necessarily disagreeing with your observation but I do believe that loss takes various forms: firstly Danny is irretrievably lost and Clara is herself terribly lost during her time of mourning to the extent that she attempts to ensure the Doctor will never be re-united with his most necessary of companions: his Tardis. No matter what, he (almost) always has that. We could add that last Season was Clara’s loss: she felt that this new Doctor was not hers. That her whirly almost teenage, romantic Doctor had vanished forever. And he had: it was up to her to reconcile that loss with what she ultimately gained.
We’ve seen Missy die at the end of last season and whilst this may be reversed, it was quite a sudden break, I felt. The same could be said of Osgood’s death and seeing the Brigadier as the symbol of love, saving Kate, was a double loss -we knew he’d passed away but we saw him again only to have him join the fight, sacrifice himself or at least recognise the human part of him which remained. It was loss at its best in that it was a reminder of the many Doctors who had known the Brigadier’s magnanimous character: so much love that writers took his character and ventured into the field of fan fiction.
River Song has died -her version of herself where she’s seen all of the Doctor’s lives and begs him “not to re-write this time, not one line, because you and I continue, you haven’t met me yet: your time is yet to come, so watch us fly,” was extraordinarily moving and a Moffat two-parter. Indeed, River’s time wasn’t over and she didn’t die -but in fact the part of her saved in the Library, that connection, was eventually cancelled, like a signal lost forever.
And if this Spoiler thread is to be believed, she may return – and I understand that: for as others upthread suggest, this is the nature, the freedom almost, of sci-fi and fantasy: people return, but do they return entirely unscathed? When Amy and Rory signed their final divorce papers it was due to Amy’s belief that Rory needed children and after Kovarian’s attempts to create an assassin, Amy could no longer bear children. The loss, I believe, is in the longing for something irretrievable.
Even in the Christmas Special there was a terrible pathos: Clara, still under the influence of the ‘face huggers’ believed she’d lived a fortunate life of travel and teaching: learning to fly planes, visiting every country on the planet. Luckily (perhaps) the Doctor brought her back to the present, to her youth, but what dangers lie ahead for her? Perhaps worse dangers and fears than what her faux memories intended in Last Christmas.
Kindest, puro
9 September 2015 at 06:19 #42456@purofilion the news of the 2016 season being a season of specials is at this time only rumour and not confirmed. personally I am hoping like the rest of the articles content proves to be false.. long may the capaldidocs reign last.
9 September 2015 at 09:51 #42457Anonymous @
Given that this is apparently his dream job, it could be that he does a year with a few specials as a bit of a break, but then does another full season afterwards.

connected to seeing the new series. Here is the Blogtor posthttp://blogtorwho.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/doctor-who-series-9-bbc-america-to-air.html
11 September 2015 at 00:23 #42506@purofilion
The loss, I believe, is in the longing for something irretrievable.
The word in Welsh is hiraeth – usually interpreted as homesickness flavoured with grief for the lost or yearning for a lost home/ homeland). There’s a lot of that in the Doctor.
11 September 2015 at 00:52 #42508Anonymous @
@pedant thank you for that.
a beautiful sounding word: a doctor on the ward is Welsh and I asked him to pronounce it for me.
There is a lot of homesickness in the Doctor’s personal life and I also believe that when one travels with the Doctor loss is a central element: whether it was Amy’s loss or Donna Noble’s, it suggests that remarkable experiences are coloured, or balanced out, by grief and death. I think had Clara not met the Doctor, she wouldn’t have seen many of the good and the courageous die.
Participating in the Doctor’s world is a life lived on the edge of extreme -emotion, war, fright, visits to the end of a fragmented universe and decisions that a woman of 25 would not normally make: a plea for the Time Lords to help the Doctor and vote with planet Earth to make a decision about the moon’s continued existence….
12 September 2015 at 01:27 #42539@purofilion Even in the Christmas Special there was a terrible pathos: Clara, still under the influence of the ‘face huggers’ believed she’d lived a fortunate life of travel and teaching: learning to fly planes, visiting every country on the planet. Luckily (perhaps) the Doctor brought her back to the present, to her youth, but what dangers lie ahead for her? Perhaps worse dangers and fears than what her faux memories intended in Last Christmas.
But how much of “Last Xmas” was dreams? I thought the 62 yrs of Old Clara’s life were real, until the Doctor went back in time and turned those years (lived by both of them, apart from each other) into an alternative-reality dead end that could never happen. But I admit, I’m still very hazy about what was real (if anything) of “Las Xmas”, what was dreams, and at what point dreams and reality parted company.
12 September 2015 at 02:17 #42540@pedant @purofilion The whole saga is about loss, once you’re grown up enough to see it (the writers certainly do — they’re all roughly of middle age, aren’t they?). Anything you lose is gone forever, because of Time’s Arrow and whatsis’s river that you can’t step in twice; except that as the Doctor + companion, you can go back for a do-over and try to get it right this time. Only anything you gain that way, or any other way, you subsequently lose again one way or another. Entropy rules.
A time traveler with a huge lifespan would have to be aware of this, unless he were stupid, rigid-minded, or just too young to have noticed yet. The Doctor, knowing it very well, must operate on a double level (foreground: he saves people — background: they’ll all die sometime anyway) in order to act at all. Same for humans: we all know that we will die, and memories of us will die, and given sufficient time anything we accomplished will die too. So we choose a conscious setting for our minds, “this thing is very important to do right now/for the next generation/for the defense of Truth etc.” and pretend not to *know* about Entropy (or that Entropy doesn’t exist or matter because some religious construct defeats or abolishes it), because otherwise there’d be no point in doing anything beyond just following the animal instincts of our bodies until the bodies keel over and die.
The reason, IMO, that “Doctor Who” doesn’t remain at the level of, say, “Lost in Space” (an old kids’ adventure show about a Robinson Crusoe type family and an silly villain), is that the Doctor can see Time in its full expanse. Compared to the almost infinite stretch of time (“almost”, assuming a beginning and maybe inferring an ending), it doesn’t matter whether the Doctor can live five thousand years, or twenty thousand. Loss will happen, all along the way and of course at the end.
Maybe that’s what a Time Lord should be: not someone who can control time (the Doctor certainly can’t) or somehow live outside it, but someone who can acknowledge the reality of Entropy, and still rocket around performing heroic deeds of passionate conviction. He’d be a Lord of Time by being lord of his own darkest awareness and the fears that come with it, not letting those things stop him. His heroism is the courage to act and care whether his actions are “good” or not (even though in the long run, all is always lost).
Isn’t that what the Doctor originally objected to on Gallifrey — that knowing all, the TLs proscribed “interfering” to make things better? Okay, that’s me done. Gonna take a walk.
12 September 2015 at 03:01 #42543Anonymous @
I think that Clara was still influenced by the face huggers at that point in the story: that in fact they were both dreaming? When he arrived back Clara appeared to have lived…..a long life.
Problem is, if she’d aged to say, 62, surely the face huggers would have killed her by then? The anaesthetic the face huggers ‘squirted’ into her brain would have led to death by then -eventually?
Darn it! I am now (officially) confused.
I have it still on the DVR. Must re-watch. @supernumerary @lisa and those on this Spoiler thread might have an answer to this: Was Clara still ‘face hugged’ when the Doctor found her aged and in her room?
It had a warm fire place, the hearth of her happy home; the large drawing room surrounded by pictures of her travels around the world (rather than the greater excitement of travelling the entire length and breadth of the universe). She’d claimed to have flown planes and remained happily unmarried, an “independent woman.”
I thought this was the ‘compassionate’ work of the face huggers’ anaesthetic and that when he awoke the “second time” he ran to Clara’s house whereupon she was ‘eternally young’ once again?
12 September 2015 at 03:08 #42544Anonymous @
@ichabod I’m not entirely sure this was the Doctor’s doing but a reminder by Santa that he could go back and indeed should:
But how much of “Last Xmas” was dreams? I thought the 62 yrs of Old Clara’s life were real, until the Doctor went back in time and turned those years (lived by both of them, apart from each other) into an alternative-reality dead end
What do you think @lisa? Was Clara at 62 real?
Did the Doctor simply re-write time or were they both influenced by face huggers here? It suggests an important point, I think: that Clara, should she die in this series or next, would not live to 62 and thus this Doctor would blame himself for ‘turning back time’? (in lyrics by the inimitable and unique Cher 🙂 ) – and taking her on journeys, both dangerous and fatal
12 September 2015 at 04:29 #42548@purofilion Elderly Clara was more than 62 and she was still dreaming. Santa showed up
to let the Doctor know. The entire episode was all within the dream until the last minute.
The Doctor has a lot of regrets but messing around with time is generally not 1 of them.
I think I might watch ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ this weekend. In that TomDoc is asked to go back
in time to destroy Davros and the Daleks. I’m watching it since its being brought back
by BBC America as part of their Doctor marathon and also because I have a hunch that there will
be some Dalek intensive stories in the mew season. @ichabod ‘Genesis’ is interesting because
it was a story that was also about Time Lord interference. Even though the Doctor left Galifrey
to escape Time lord interference it apparently hasn’t worked out very successfully.12 September 2015 at 04:43 #42550It’s too much for me, guys. I hope S9 will settle this question right off the bat: how much of the end of S8 (including Last Xmas) was real, and how much was dreaming? The answer is crucial to where we go from here.
12 September 2015 at 06:19 #42553@lisa Yes, Old Clara was clearly in her eighties at least, and told the Doctor that 62 years had passed since they’d parted company at the end of DiH. And yes, whoever asked, she still had the Dream crab on her face when the Doctor first removed the thing, revealing her (shocking to us, but not to him) old face. So you’re saying that their “second chance” is built not on real experience of 62 years having passed, but a shared dream of 62 years having passed and a dream-resolution (in the Arctic and in Clara’s bedroom) of the mutual lies in the cafe scene at the end of DiH. So everything that happened in Last Xmas was crab-induced dream experience until Clara “wakes up” the second time with her real-time young face again?
Then the last real thing prior to that (before the equally real final moment of Last Xmas) is — the Doctor leaving in the Tardis and Clara walking away, at the end of DiH; and the next real thing for both of them is “Am I young?!” and off they go for their second chance.
Great; I’ll take it, and thanks!
Ichi

15 September 2015 at 04:16 #42685@janetteb Hi! Look what I found …
hints on all the episodes! Holy Moly! lol
15 September 2015 at 06:57 #42693Anonymous @
To add on to the above (which I didn’t click, because I don’t want hints), the names of all episodes have been revealed- they’re on Wikipedia with no other spoilery information here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_serials#Series_9
I do like the degree of binary naming.
15 September 2015 at 19:28 #42703Just had one of my weirdly random (or randomly weird) thoughts:
So Reece Shearsmith has been cast in an episode. And no, I don’t think he’ll be playing the Second Doctor.
But he WILL be part of the explanation for the Doctor having the face of someone from his past.
He’ll be playing Salamander.
15 September 2015 at 22:00 #42705That is a fascinating idea! The last we saw of him he was off in a time vortex, so presumably could still be alive. But…the last we saw of him was in 1968. I wonder if enough of the viewing audience in 2015 would even know who Salamander was? It would take a lot of time to establish just who he was and how he was a spitting image of the second Doctor. I am just not sure that would work in terms of story telling. But…it is still a great idea!

I watched that and it was awesome! Thank you.
I was thinking of doing something outside my house on the 19th (well, 2oth for us): wrapping the Baker scarf around the picket fence and adding either a fez or a bow tie and propping that on the letterbox?
There might be a few fans on the street these days -though I doubt it. I seem to exist in a weird bubble.
I don’t think anyone would nick any item in this neighbourhood. One never truly knows, of course.
Now, any ideas about where I can buy a fez easily enough? @supernumerary @blenkinsopthebrave, @janetteb and @ichabod ?
(Janette, the boy found the jolly wine gums and so I had to hide the second packet for Sunday!)
The Capaldi Doctor doesn’t have a prop that’s instantly recognisable, I’m afraid. I guess neither did Tennant.
16 September 2015 at 02:36 #42718@purofilion
A fez….hmm. That’s a tricky one. What about the much-easier-to-acquire bow tie? (both red and blue, of course)
And, Tennant, surely, did have a prop–sandshoes! (and very easy to acquire)
16 September 2015 at 03:01 #42723Anonymous @
Thank you for your suggestions!
Of course! The trainers. Silly me: I have a few rolling about. I shall do that. Of course, scarlet cardboard can make a pretty good fez -so that’s a project for Boy Ilion. He’ll enjoy that.
And we have bow ties -but I fear they are multi-coloured: hmm, spray paint (“bahahabaha”, she laughs deliciously)?

Speculation on at least some of the things featured in the trailers is at an end (probably; possibly) and it is revealed that the hands-with-eyes are an excuse for a truly groan-worthy pun 😈
Other than that; permission to ….. SQUEEE!
16 September 2015 at 13:47 #42746[Sigh] you’re right, of course. I keep forgetting how old everyone else isn’t.
I suppose the same will hold true for the idea that the Doctor will run into Maxil sometime this year. wouldn’t it be great if THAT was the first face he saw when he finds Gallifrey! 😮
16 September 2015 at 14:26 #42749@blenkinsopthebrave and @brewski I think a lot more people will have seen The Enemy of the World given that it was recently “re discovered” as opposed to other older stories so a reference to Salamander is more likely than to many other a old Who villain but then again to revive the character would require knowledge of the story whereas just using a old evil, such as the Great Intelligence or the Ice Warriors does not require prior knowledge so I guess I have tied my argument up in a knot.
@mudlark. Yes it was a little disappointing to find out about the hands but they still look cool.
Cheers

16 September 2015 at 23:31 #42756I’ve been wondering about the Great Intelligence a lot lately, actually. Re-listening to the Prologue (several times.)
He qualifies as someone the Doctor has known for a long time, and has always been an enemy.
It is also reasonable for the Doctor to say he doesn’t actually “know him” that well.
He does not need to be reintroduced to Nu’er Viewers.
Consider the comments in the Prologue:
“But I don’t like you” — “That’s why you can trust me.” = Don’t trust someone you like.
“You can hide from your enemies but not your friends.” = If someone is going to get to you, it would be through a friend.
“Has something happened? Was it recent?” – “Yes.” = Something profound has changed and it is compelling the Doctor to do something very rash. So something (someone) he care’s about a lot.
We know the GI has a connection with Clara already. (Three times.)
We know Clara has a connection with Missy. She was the woman at the shop who saw to it the Doctor found Clara.
Why was Missy keen to do that? (The “I needed someone controlling” was a weak excuse). But what if Missy is working with the GI?
= The GI is working through Clara. Maybe has recently possessed her?
= Don’t trust someone you like / Hide from your friends.
17 September 2015 at 01:18 #42760Anonymous @
What awesome theorising might I say!
The GI is indeed a threat and has, as you suggest Brew, worked with and thru Clara before. I also think there’s a sense that the Doctor must hide or cease to trust a friend or friends and it will be someone for whom he feels responsible (when does he not?).
I wonder about him without Tardis at some point in time: this ‘object with’ voice, animation and thinking could be possessed in a way that House possessed the Tardis when Amy and Rory were locked in and wandering through its unknown depths. Whilst Journey into the Centre of the Tardis showed us this, another entirely different story, in which the animated Tardis is taken, or no longer trusted, would leave the Doctor without ‘ground’ support.
17 September 2015 at 12:59 #42773@purofilion
The idea that the Tardis might be the one that’s possessed and turned against the Doctor is actually pretty chilling. I may not be able to sleep tonight. :O
Another thought that occurred to me is that the Doctor may be one step ahead of them. (Quelle surprise!)
He is making sure Missy gets that disc, which she says is his last Will and Testament. But what if the Doctor KNOWS she’s working with the GI? It may be a trick on his part.
17 September 2015 at 13:22 #42774@purofilion
BTW, thank you. However, so far not only have I never been right, I’ve not even been close! Lol.
I take comfort in the fact that here the theories truly are more insane than what’s actually happening out there. 🙂
17 September 2015 at 13:45 #42775Anonymous @
I think the theorising is awesome: it keeps our brains ticking over happily and suggests, overall, that a show, over 50 years old, can still surprise us indefinitely with some quite amazing twists and turns.
I was watching a silly horror movie on the movie channel at the hospital today –Annabelle? At least I think that’s its name. A doll is possessed and goes ‘all slasher’. It’s a James Wan film and quite possibly the idea of a possessed Tardis called out to me in the manner of a possessed doll.
Nonetheless, Doctor Who isn’t the arena for cheap thrills so there’ll be a perfectly rational and scientific reason for why the Doctor’s enemies may have ‘fiddled’ with the Tardis in order to separate this symbiotic being from her ‘master,’ as it were.
I see the Doctor, his Tardis and now the sonic as some Trinity of weaponry (or peacekeeping!) without which the Doctor would be quite lost. I love the line in Listen where Clara asks sarcastically, “How long have you been travelling alone?” to which the Doctor replies “I don’t know. I might never be alone in here” (I’ve paraphrased his response across the River Styx and back…)
I really like your deduction here based on these lines:
“Has something happened? Was it recent?” – “Yes.” = Something profound has changed and it is compelling the Doctor to do something very rash. So something (someone) he care’s about a lot.
Yes. The Doctor can act rashly and sometimes is seen to, but at the same time, as you suggest, he has umpteen dozen plans laid side by side in his head and is inevitably able to play his ‘frenemies’ like ‘Electric Chess.’
The line from the Sister of Karn, “it could be your destruction” followed by the Doctor’s, “you could say that about being born” is so typical of this regeneration or personality as is the acidic repartee -like vanilla sugar cut thru with a drop of balsamic vinegar.
So, what is in the disc? The ‘key’ to unlocking the minds in the matrix from last season? A way to read Missy’s mind? A mild telepathic field which may suggest who Missy could be working with…?
Mmmm…..
18 September 2015 at 07:28 #42817@purofilion Missy says the disk is a “Confession Calendar”, I think, and also the Doctor’s last Will & Testament, which he implied (to Ohila of Karn) should to to Clara if he himself is presumed lost (one way or another). Clara takes it to Missy — I think; that scene with the two of them at the table. Missy is examining the disc and tells Clara what it’s called, and also that she, Missy, can find the Doctor (with this thing’s help?) if anyone can.
Looking at Missy in the second trailer (I think? One about the Witch’s Familiar?), there’s this arena set up with side walls blazoned in red and green and “villagers” (maybe from the Viking village). Bors, with his axe, is foregrounded as the Doctor enters with the light behind him — holding, it sure looks like, that guitar (*his* axe, though I thought that term in pop music circles refers to a saxophone rather than a guitar). I’m seeing a SPOILERY narrative here, though it’s not about motives etc., only actions so beware —
Somehow, the Doctor and his friend big Bors (from “The Doctor’s Meditation”) are pitted against each other. Clara’s in in the mix somehow. So is Missy: she stands holding a handkerchief at arms’ length, in a pose recalling the stance of a referee about to drop a handkerchief to signal the beginning of a contest.
The Doctor puts on his way-bad sunglasses (giving Clara a wicked grin) and then whacks the bravura hell out of that guitar — and, I think, everybody is roaring a song along with him, and somehow he has won.
Further on, Clara uses that handkerchief to surreptitiously pick up something — the sonic? — from the arena floor (clearly it was no use to the Doctor in the contest, since he needed both hands for the guitar, so maybe he discarded it or was forced to do so). And there’s a big hug between her and the Doctor in that same setting, presumably after the contest is over.
No hint as to who the Doctor came to see — the old friend/enemy whatever — so maybe he never got that far, and this is an unintended detour from the dangerous journey he set out on from Karn.
Saturday night, then. When will everyone have seen the Saturday opener, so we can talk about it without worrying about spoiling? Or should we confine such talk to this page anyway, or a page dedicated to “The Magician’s Apprentice” and okay for detailed discussion? @craig — ?

I’m not sure what constitutes News and how that News becomes Spoilers? For instancem posting about Coleman leaving: I guess this is news, is it? -although this was a Spoiler to me (and for someone else on the site who absolutely didn’t want to know) -not that I’m uppity about it as I’ve been on the Spoiler sites lately but they are (!).
Still, I think if Coleman’s name is spread about and after 3 years or more of being in the show, then it might make sense that she’d be leaving soon anyway -process of deduction I suppose?
I usually thought news was related to “events”, “ticket sales” and other such random things?
Could we have a quick lesson please?

@ichabod I shall seek out a second trailer with more detail: the one on this Forum is not it I presume.
18 September 2015 at 08:36 #42821@purofilion I’ve seen the trailers posted at the head of this thread; a sort of compressed version of the second one, I think, that had a couple of new shots in it; a 2 minute “prologue” (to episode one?) titled “The Planet” (or “The Planet Karn”) with a conversation between the Doctor and Ohila of the Sisterhood about him taking off to go see somebody at great risk to himself; and an 8 minute “prequel” to episode 1 called “The Doctor’s Meditation”, which is supposed to be shown Friday evening on BBCA in preparation for Episode 1, S9, to be shown Saturday evening.
If there’s anything else, I haven’t seen it, but there might be some snippets of the trailers floating around the net.

“Missy says the disk is a “Confession Calendar”, I think, and also the Doctor’s last Will & Testament, which he implied (to Ohila of Karn) should to to Clara if he himself is presumed lost (one way or another). Clara takes it to Missy — I think; that scene with the two of them at the table. Missy is examining the disc and tells Clara what it’s called, and also that she, Missy, can find the Doctor (with this thing’s help?) if anyone can.
I’m not doubting you but the scenes you mention above don’t seem to be from either the Prologue or the 2 trailers; one is 1.5 mins long and the other is about 1 min long (this latter has M. Williams character and the horse riding scene, the eye- hands rising etc).
In no scenes in Oz have Missy and Clara spoken -perhaps it’s American?
I understand there’s another minisode tonight or tomorrow night which is extended that you mention above.
Anyway, no worries at all.

I’m seeing a SPOILERY narrative here
Sorry, that’s the part I should have read first: because none of those things are in trailers/prologue. Anyway, I can hardly complain, I came to the site and it’s barely a day to go anyway, unless of course the material above refers to The Witches’ Familiar…in which case…. 🙂
I don’t know when the second Prologue (that’s what I can safely call it: I really don’t want to be clocked by the mods!) is aired in Oz. I think tomorrow, Saturday evening. Though, from what I can tell, people have seen it in the States on Sept 15. It could well be after midnight tonight instead.
Anyway, no matter ichi.

Ah, I’m a bit silly. I didn’t realise you’d seen the 10 mins M______minisode. I see where the info about the title of the disc comes from: maybe don’t mention it yet? Or at least maybe here but not on the prologue page? But then, what do I know? I try not to stray far from instructions for fear of needing to duck!!
Cheers, puro
18 September 2015 at 09:41 #42828@purofilion I came to this board after S8 was over, or nearly over, so I haven’t gone through however the spoiler question is handled here for the start of a new season/series — in terms of when (and where) we can discuss what we’ve just seen, after episode 1 airs. Someplace, I hope!
We get The Magician’s Apprentice tomorrow night (Saturday Sept. 19 for us at 8 pm MST and/or 9 pm, I can never figure out but always tune in early, just in case). Right now, it’s 2:30 a.m. Friday Sept. 18 here; we get “The Doctor’s Meditation” on tv this coming evening on BBCA, and then the first episode tomorrow night, same place. Netflix is supposed to be carrying S9 on a sort of available-next-day basis, for re-watches, or for watching first time out if you don’t have a TV service that carries BBCA.
That, at any rate, is where I think I stand; but it’s 2:35 now in the a.m. of Friday, so what I actually know and know accurately is questionable at best.
Very Soon Now — !!!!

Ah, I got it, thank you to you! This makes some sense -though reading guardedly: not there’s any need, all shall be revealed!

19 September 2015 at 01:03 #42874If anyone doesn’t want to wait a few more hours for the prequel you can
see it now on ‘Doctor Freedom’ channel on Facebook. I’d post the url
except having tried and I think it is blocked. I also tried to share
it with others thru FB but it was no go. But its there for you all now!
And its special! -
