    @Craig @Wolfweed @Blenkinsopthebrave @Juniperfish @FatmaninaBox @Arbutus @Pufferfish @Timeloop @Chickenelly @Whisht @arkleseizure and all the forum members, veterans and newbies alike.

    Just a flying-in visit to wish everyone a  Happy Who Day

    @JimtheFish @Bluesqueakpip Thanks for missing me! And yes, been doing that cultural overdose thing in…[Read more]

    Morning all, and Happy Who Day. I’ll echo that it’s good to see the clan gathering for a new series. I also can’t wait for the further sartorial elegance of the @chickenelly avatar.

    I can’t believe I’m working tonight, in the middle of bloody nowhere. I won’t even be able to pop a small party popper at the appropriate time because I’d be in d…[Read more]

    @bluesqueakpip I would hate if they would take the easy way out. What a letdown that would be. And it is supposed to be the only thing that remained from the TARDIS exploding. Moffat can do better than this.

    I AM getting positively EXCITED though! FINALLY new input in the Whoniverse. And hopefully the explanation how Capaldi could have played…[Read more]

    Yay @chickenelly I look forward to your array of outfits over the next few months!

  • Timeloop replied to the topic On The Sofa (5)

    Thanks @Craig =)

    Yeah I kept an eye on the forum just like @chickenelly (welcome back ;D), being more of a lurker now and then. I tried to log in once, the forum wouldn’t let me so I’m glad it worked out now.

    @wolfweed and other informants have done a great job collecting everything that concerns Doctor Who, this site is a great archive. That’s…[Read more]

    Welcome back @Chickenelly. How’s the Scottish granny?

    You have to compare the pre-bookings for Who with the pre-bookings for other showings. My local is about half full – which certainly doesn’t compare with the 50th Anniversary. But when you look at other screenings on Saturday night, it’s positively packed.

    Welcome back, @chickenelly

    As for the One Show – Who vets these questions? No one apparently.

    Nice to see Capaldi totally unimpressed by Matt Baker’s behind the sofa antics…

  • Lovely post – particularly enjoyed the Hendrix.

    I was just playing my (in fact for real) Scottish granny’s (where is @Chickenelly btw?) old shellac 78s on her His Master’s Voice gramophone the other day. […]

    @Chickenelly

    Welcome back! Hope your connection is sorted because we have more “homework” starting next week to keep you occupied.

    @monochromedimension (and newer members really)

    The Doctor retrospectives we do are done in Forums basically. We take a story per Doctor and watch it episode by episode, week by week (as nature, or rather “The BBC”…[Read more]

    As @Blenkinsopthebrave said earlier

    Have I missed much?

    The real question should be: have we missed you? And the answer is a resounding YES! Welcome back from the fog of a pre-internet age.

    Absolutely agree. Happy new year, and welcome back to the world of bonkers theorising 🙂

    @confusedpolarity

    The last thing they’ll want is a blurry image on the internet stealing their thunder!

    As when they started filming Series 5 in what they thought was an out-of-the-way location. To discover, to their dismay, that the entire Internet was discussing the new Doctor’s costume almost the second Matt Smith stepped out of the costume v…[Read more]

    Of course, there is stuff for you to catch up on: lots of interesting new blogs, lots of new lurkers-who-became-posters, and lots of Who stuff from around the web courtesy of @wolfwe…[Read more]

    @Chickenelly

    Yay! welcome back, and hope your lack of internet is resolved soon. Greetings to your wee Scottish granny btw.

    I wondered that too, about aging Matt up so the contrast between him and Capaldi is less. It also makes sense when this is a much older, more mature, post-angst Eleven.  He’s not sure that he’s not the last of his people,…[Read more]

    @cathannabel

    Apparently, ‘Caves of Androzani this was not’. Good.

    Yes, I saw that one and agreed. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t remember a crap “Magma Monster” in this episode at all. The one in “Caves” made @chickenelly (where she!?) want to throw something at their screen. 🙂

  • ScaryB replied to the topic The Day of the Doctor

    @Chickenelly You saw it at the O2?? Me and @Bluesqueakpip were there too. Shame we didn’t know beforehand.  We were the 2 in 3D glasses, fairly near the front, squeeing regularly throughout! 😀  Wasn’t it great to watch as a big communal experience with everyone applauding/laughing etc at the same time?

  • Hudsey replied to the topic The Day of the Doctor

    @chickenelly did the QE1 letter say that the queen was making the doctor her curator? Wow how did I miss that?

  • @bluesqueakpip

    Back to the loss of memories theme after the Snowmen! RESULT!

    Nice big reminder of the Doctors age as well with the Diary. Strokes chin, and requests the use of @chickenelly s pipe.

  • @Wolfweed and @chickenelly – it was me. I didn’t know what he was in, though. But he, McCoy and Colin Baker were all doing a series of convention gigs – except McGann missed one. And the one he missed was during […]

  • @chickenelly

    By golly, you are right. It might get Kennedy in!

    No, the real reason is that it will allow me to revisit the 11 year old Blenkinsop who watched “An Unearthly  Child”. That, and the fact that I […]
