• @chickenelly – I posited a theory, but it wasn’t based on any evidence. Someone did say something like McGann not being in Australia (or somewhere) meant he was probably shooting for Who…

  • ScaryB commented on the post, The Trailer – Discuss it here

    @Mihenna I suggest you clean out your ears.  It’s unmistakably John Hurt’s voice.

    @Chickenelly Yay, great to have you back. @Bluesqueakpip has a great theory that it’s Eliz 1 and there’s an assassination plot […]

  • @Chickenelly– ‘of some sort’. Accidentally got on the channel just before it was broadcast, my boyfriend turned to me and said ‘oh, what’s that?’, I said, ‘it’s a trailer without footage from the actual episode, and well played’. It’s lovely. I think he lost interest after that, though he did turn around and grin at me when the lost episodes were…[Read more]

    And Clara’s reflection is – Sarah Jane Smith

    Not convinced about that, sorry; I’m more with @Blenkinsopthebrave that it’s Susan. Hard to tell with the globe distorting the reflection, but it looks as if the haircut is much shorter than either Clara’s or  S-J’s.  Which leads to his bonkers theory that Clara is daughter of the Doc…[Read more]

  • @chickenelly – Probably, I think his bit was shot around filming for the Chrimbo special.

    @bluesqueakpip

    I thought it was obviously the young Elisabeth Sladen – from the Pertwee era, I thought

    I think you’re right. They even got her  massive 70s collar – the “glider”.

    Come fly with me……

    @chickenelly– sounds more like dyspraxia to me… there is a tendency to lump all the ‘dys’s under ‘dyslexia’ which irritated me when I was younger, because  I read very well (I am however very clumsy, so dyspraxia suits me far better…)

    @Bluesqueakpip– yes, I love my kindle for that. I’m increasingly worried that when my current one…[Read more]

    @JimTheFish Cheers Jim, much appreciated. Am hoping to do more improvements soon.

    It really is down to PUWS – if it’s not needed, bin it.

    @chickenelly The font is actually bigger than it was before. I did have it even bigger in an earlier incarnation as I’m a bit eyeball challenged myself but was worried it might be too much. I’d actually like…[Read more]

  • Any ideas for Troughton?

    I think @arkleseizure msuggested The Mind Robber (at 5 eps) and I suggested Tomb of the Cybermen (at 4 eps, although for people with access to the Watch TV channel, that story will be featured in the UK showing of The Doctors Revisited). If you don’t fancy B&W, he does feature in The Three Doctors (10th anniversary 4…[Read more]

    FINALLY caught up with this. had to wait for DVD being delivered – but definitely worth it going by some of the comments on here re sound/visuals.  Was also useful for the commentary – most of the actors hadn’t a clue what was going on either, but they had a ball making it.

    It was my first time for Ghostlight (saw Fenric when it was broadcast) -…[Read more]

    Is done 😀

    Checkbox now has to be actively ticked to make a note of the edit.

    @chickenelly @shazzbot

    I’ll look into it. Best solution is probably to have the box unticked by default. They don’t show when it’s not ticked.

    IO9 also reported on the “protest” with a couple of videos which might interest you. There is the higher quality film of the 2011 intro (no audience participation), but also the very funny 2010 film which sets up a lot of the jokes, and features a small cameo by the ever awesome Sheridan…[Read more]

    @Chickenelly: they’ve taken it off. 😉 Sounds a fun list of stuff, though. The science behind Doctor Who programme is definitely on my ‘record’ list.

    @JanetteB – yes, it does sound a bit spoilery; but possibly […]

    @JimTheFish and @Chickenelly – as young Chickenelly says, I suspect that any outside filming is a) genuinely needed and b) as misleading as possible.

    We’ve just had an entire episode where a very dead River […]

  • @chickenelly @blenkinsopthebrave

    The “figure” is, to me, quite clearly an artefact of set lighting (it may conceivably be the inside of the sarcophagus, with the front swung open, but I don’t think so). EDIT: […]

    Thanks for putting up that link @chickenelly. I read the article this morning. I am glad that he had enjoyed his Who experience and found the fans to be pleasant people. I think a little bit of fantasy role play […]

    @chickenelly, everything is up for grabs as far as future episodes are concerned, with the possible exception of Two Doctors ;-).
