Wow, just wow, y’know it’s funny I was quite disappointed by the lead up ‘Dark Water’ due to how it handled the whole ‘Don’t cremate me’ issue, I was also disappointed by Missy being the Master, as I said before in my previous review, but it had some good moments, don’t get me wrong.

THIS however redeemed the last episode for me in a way, thank goodness they said the whole ‘dead are conscious’ thing was a lie.

The CyberZombies were fantastic, and unlike last episode Missy really seemed like The Master to me, and hey points to Moffat for not cracking jokes about The Master being a woman, I was honestly afraid all the gender change jokes would ruin the fear of this episode, but hey! they’re were none!

Danny’s death baffles me a bit, (mostly because of Orson) so hopefully that will get explained in Season 9. (Could be Claa’s pregnant, or maybe it was his brother/other relaive’s descendant?) and while it’s possible he’ll come back, via some timey wimey mess like Rory did 1000 times, I honestly hope he doesn’t, I think it would ruin his sacrifice for me.

Pretty much my only complaint about this entire episode is Osgood dying, yes I understand it was for dramatic storytelling, but they could’ve easily had it be someone we didn’t recognize so that it didn’t deliver quite as harsh a blow, it just seemed like such a waste of a good character to me, a character whom I honestly thought might become a companion in the future.

Missy’s death was great, I loved that the brigadier got to kill her, I LOVE THE BRIGADIER, he is to me, the second best thing to come out of the classic series, just behind the 4th Doctor, besides y’know character’s that have been in the modern, like The Master, Dalek’s so on, and to me he didn’t get a good send-off before, glad he finally got that salute he always wanted.

I wonder if Missy uniting Clara with the Doctor was to get him out of his depression of losing Amy and Rory..

Makes sense when you think about it, she wanted him there, and Clara sort of got him out of his depression, and if not for his timey wimey timeline main Clara might have called him there.

But I feel like there’s more to it…
Which brings me back to Clara, I don’t think she’s leaving yet at all, because we still haven’t gone in to why Missy united them, plus Santa Clause didn’t sound too happy about them leaving with a lie, if she does leave though, the full send off will probably be in the christmas special, unless she is to stay another season, maybe it’ll be because she’s pregnant or something?

Clara has been a fantastic companion, to me the greatest, I still like the idea of her turning out to be The Doctor and Riversong’s daughter, but I guess that might be weird because of the flirting in Season 7 and the time of the Doctor.

If she was in fact his daughter,  I could see her staying as a permanant addition via regeneration or something,
but perhaps it’s best for each companion to leave after a while, keep up tradition and whatnot.

Though let’s be honest, if regeneration had been made up before Susan left, me thinks Susan’s character would have never left, and instead regenerated.

And finally the ending was PERFECT TO ME, as dark and dreary, and just downright scary this episode was, it could not have ended any better than with a moment as lighthearted and incredibly goofy as Santa entering the TARDIS.

First off I have watched some of the classic series, (And intend to watch all the way through) But from everything i’ve seen, and watched, the modern series is still superior in my opinion. (I’ve seen all episode’s of it)

In the Russel T. Davies era, I feel like we got perhaps some of if not the greatest stories in Doctor Who.
Specifically each and every finale. (Even more specifically ‘The Dalek invasion of Earth’ and ‘The End of time”

While the Steven Moffat era, has given us what is in my opinion the best Doctor of all time. (Matt Smith, and you’re free to think otherwise)

Russel T. Davies’s era invemted the Time War, which naturally ingrained him into the history of the show, like few Showrunner’s have been before.

The same can be said about Steven Moffat for saving it in ‘the Day of the Doctor’

While the Time War was overall my favorite long time story arc, I believed it was right of Moffat to bring back Gallifrey, and can’t wait for when it makes it’s own physical appearance once again, the Crack’s the Silence and Clara’s mystery are also some excellent story arcs, and i’m glad to see that they connected to one big finale. (Though i’m a bit disappointed by the explanation for the Crack’s)

Long story short, both Davies and Moffat are equally ingrained into my subconscious.
And while i’m a little sore at Davies for creating ‘Torchwood’ (I’m sorry I hate it, but you’re free to have your opinion)
And Moffat for creating the characters of  ‘Vastra and Jenny’ (Again sorry, but I hate them, you’re free to have your opinion though.) Both writer’s are extremely excellent at story telling.

Davies and Moffat are very different writer’s and I feel like if Moffat had been head writer back with Eccleston, it wouldn’t have been the right time, his story arc’s are excellent, but long and complex, which isn’t what Doctor Who needed in it’s re-introduction, but Davies was excellent at re-introducing to the character’s and monster’s we all know and love.

That being said, despite mostly positive feelings for Moffat’s era, I really hope he does leave after Season 8, it’s time to give a new writer a go, Davies got 4 season’s and I think it’s a good number to stop on. (Though I think it was confirmed he wouldn’t leave, but that’s fine, I just hope he doesn’t stay around ‘forever’) (Another 4 years)

I’m not sure how I feel about this episode yet, (I’m assuming I can post spoilers here, if not an admin can remove them and correct me)

So obviously… spoilers ahead
While the episode was very well thought out, the idea that the dead are conscious not only makes no logical sense, but also insults anyone who cremated their loved ones.

For instance, HOW could the dead FEEL if their nerves are dead and no longer connected to their brain? This had better be fake, and i’m willing to bet it is.
Anyway… continuing on.

The revelation of the Cybermen was EPIC (Though I had read of their appearance, it still excited me to see them back as a main antagonist, a ‘real threat’ so to speak)

I’m really holding out on Danny coming back to life, in whatever crazy way. (I mean come on, Rory came back to life how many times? Moffat OWES this to the character)

I liked how Clara acted, and the 12th Doctor’s line, ‘go to he**’ seriously scared me, (I thought he was telling Clara to… y’know)

Now on to what is arguably the biggest revelation this episode, Missy

I told myself I probably wouldn’t watch Doctor Who if this happened, but i’m going to give this the benefit of the doubt for now.

I see why Moffat did it, (It’s not something I would have EVER done, but i’ll live)
But my main problem, is Missy kissing the Doctor, it’s not even because of how…well… weird it is, it’s because it probably means that all of the Master’s humor, will be directed at ‘Oh i’m a woman, so i’m gonna flirt with the Doctor now.’

Or simply… ‘Oh i’m a woman now’
So yeah…
I feel as though this is really gonna cheapen the character, but to be honest I think my subconscious has kinda suspected this for a while, but i’ve been in denial to an extent.

And it’s starting to seem more and more like EVERY SEASON of Modern Doctor Who has to focus on the Time Lords/Daleks in some way shape or form.

I mean the Crack’s Riversong the Silence and Trenzalore were all bi-products of them in a way.
Not that I have a problem with that, to me the Time War is the best story to ever come out of Doctor Who anyway.

Long story short, this episode has a lot of ups and downs to me, despite it being a ‘she’ i’m excited to see The Master back, and hope for a very engaging story next episode, as I refuse to state my final opinion on the story until I have seen the next episode, and I really wanna know what Clara’s role to play is in this story…

I doubt Missy will be The Master, as Moffet confirmed no Master this season, though he’s quite prone to lying, and I wouldn’t be suprised if he did.

Although in all honestly, The Master being turned into a woman would ruin his character for me, and frankly I very well might stop watching if he was.

Although i’m honestly a little scared of CLARA being The Master after that trailer.
As for Clara being his Daughter, I honestly have theorized about that myself, and would have no problem if it happened, but it would be a little weird don’t you think? So not sure they’d do that.

The 11th and Clara were quite flirty with one another, she even said she ‘fancied’ him under a truth field, and he too alluded to this on many occasions.

Also he tempoarily played her ‘boyfriend’ in the time of the Doctor.

@devilishrobby‘ Well we’ve seen Clara as a child, and while River could potentially be brought back as a child. (Since The Master was before being Professor Yana)

That was when a Time Lord brought him back however, and River has no known connection to actual Time Lord’s,
Also the TARDIS hated Clara, and it loves Riversong.

And Moffet previously stated the Name of the Doctor was the end for Riversong, while he said he might change his mind, i’m pretty sure he already has Clara’s whole arc planned out. (Could be wrong though)

Further more, The TARDIS recognizes Clara as being completely human, and while it could be wrong due to some techy nonsense, (Like a Chameleon arc or whatever.) that just doesn’t seem to be at all the direction’s taking, given that romance between The Doctor and Clara was all but written off in ‘Deep Breath’

Given the relationship that’s been developing between them this season, I would like to state that the possibility of Clara being the Doctor’s Daughter, (Not Jenny mind you) is not completely written off.
I still would like the idea of Clara being the Daughter of Riversong and The Doctor. (Though I admit it would be sorta weird considering she fancied him, but not the face that claims to be her Dad… or wait.. if it was River and Clara the 11th WOULD be her Dad.. NEVERMIND TOO CONFUSING.)

One last thing, Clara River (Or the Doctor’s Daughter) Wouldn’t really fit with Missy having ‘chosen’ her she can’t CHOOSE who get’s to be his daughter, and she didn’t choose Riversong Madame Kovarian did…

Unless she chose her for that reason? Idk

Hello! as I said on my previous post i’m a new member on here and would like to post my theory on Missy/Heaven and Danny Pink.

First i’d like to point out this post contains spoilers/rumors read at your own risk.

So I read that the Cybermen are supposedly the villains of the finale, and there was a post where Missy stated ‘The dead are coming back, all shiny and new.’

So this makes me think the cybermen are responsible for the ‘nethersphere’

And here’s my theory on how.

Regeneration has been shown to be able to bring someone back to life and not change their appearance, for instance when Riversong brough the 11th Doctor back to life.

Now if you think back to ‘Nightmare in silver’ the 11th Doctor gave the Cyberplanner full information on Time lord regeneration.

What if the cybermen were somehow able to emulate this?

‘Missy’ and/or that other guy in Heaven could somehow be the Cyberplanner!

They may have left the Cyberplanner'(s) human to some extent so that they could interact with Clara without making their precense known.

Speaking of Clara I have a theory on her too.

I think she may be the only person who can open the gates to Heaven!

If *spoilers* The Cybermen are going to invade Earth from Heaven, why haven’t they done it yet?

My assumption is that they had to pick someone to be able to open it.

Thus Missy’s line ‘Oh my Clara, I have chosen well.’

I also think she needs Clara on the TARDIS as it can bring her to ‘the gates’

So I also have a theory on what will possess Clara to open the gates.

Errr… more potential spoilers.

Supposedly Danny will become a Cybermen.

My theory is Danny will die, and reincarnate in Heaven, Missy will tell her and she’ll open the gates to bring him back, only to find out he’s a Cyberman.

Now time to move on to my more far-fetched theory… chances are you’ll think i’m crazy.

I think Danny’s The Master.

YES YES I KNOW IT SOUNDS CRAZY!

And yes I know many people thought Rory and even Riversong were The Master.

But I have more grounds on this…

Nothing even close to proof but…

 

I think he’s probably using the chameleon arc again.

While some might say it’s redundant to use that plot again, the impact would be much bigger as he’s a already important character.

Yes Danny has been seen as a child, but Professor Yana stated he was found as a child.

Perhaps when the Time Lords reincarnate him after losing all regenerations he returns as a child?

After all Rupert was an orphan, what happened to his parents?…

Speaking of which the name ‘Rupert’ means English leader, Prime Minister..anyone?

and ‘Pink’ is a Saxon name.

Now we’re on to Orson Pink.

Like many people I think he is Danny rather than a future version of him.

I’m suspicious as to why he has a space suit identical to one the Doctor wore, but no theories on that yet.

What i’m wondering is… why would he be at the End of the universe?

 

If you go back to my previous theory, say he becomes a Cybermen, then Clara shows him the fob watch, he turns back into a Time Lord which restores him.

He then leaves, maybe stealing Jack’s vortex manipulator. (This would happen in the finale so UNIT would be involved, they own Jack’s vortex manipulator)

And goes on to become Orson Pink.

Why the End of the universe you say? why go back there?

Well he was there before…. But how did he get there again?

Well logically he probably used his TARDIS….

But he stole The Doctor’s, what if he doesn’t know where it is and went there to try to find it.

Now as to why the time lords would bring him back again.

Well i’m guessing he died after attacking Rassilon.

And the time lords might’ve needed him to find out the Doctor’s name, in order to execute their plan in ‘The Time of The Doctor’

And i’ll be honest, I don’t know how he could’ve got off of Gallifrey, and on to Earth.

What did you guys think? am I crazy and overthinking things? or could I actually be right about these theories? tell me what you think!

Hello! i’m a new member here, some of you may have seen my reply on Flatline.

I was introduced to the show on Netflix *I watched Season’s 1 through 6 on there*

And then after watched Season 7 *Nightmare in silver was the first I watched normally*

As I watched through on Netflix I concocted on what would happen.

(usually they weren’t true, though I knew the Big Bad of season 3 would be an evil timelord, hah classic Superman there…. I actually thought it might be his brother.) I also knew that the ‘hand’ would grow into another Doctor, though I didm’t predict it’d be human…

I am currently watching through Classic Who on Hulu. (It’s how I keep from getting Who deprived inbetween episodes now.)

And I now make sure to hear every bit of news Moffet and other writer’s/actor’s gives out

Since Season 8 started it’s been more difficult keeping my theories to myself.

Few people I know watch Doctor Who and so i’m glad I found this forum, I will be posting on here actively I have a lot i’d like to say but I figured i’d post it in a seperate message, since it’s gonna be a long list. XD

I really like the character development for both Clara and the Doctor in this episode, it was nice to see Clara carry an episode too, as she is my all time favorite companion)

I especially liked when he scared the creature’s off, that was cool.
And did anyone catch the A113 train? Or whatever it was… Hah Animation reference.

While i’m still getting used to Capaldi, (As Smith was my all time favorite Doctor and probably always will be.)
I do feel like they made the right choice, going for something radically different. (And *Cough cough* not a woman.)

It makes sense for Number 12 to be like this too, I feel like it’s because of his time spent on Trenzalore, and him losing his guilt which has so often made him do the right thing, which is why he needs Clara perhaps more than ever.

I’m not sure about Missy though… At this point it seems pretty obvious to me she’s the woman in the shop. (That was the impression I got when I first saw her.) but I have no idea what she means by choosing Clara, looks like the mysteries surrounding her aren’t done with quite yet.

And is it just me or are they really emphasizing soldier’s this season? Journey Blue, The Mummy, it seems weird somehow but I think it all means we’re leading into a very important arc about Danny.

I actually have some theories i’d like to post, but they’re kinda off the topic of this episode, anyone know where I can post them?
