btw @purofilion – my knowledge of music is thin. Really thin.

I love this thread for expanding my knowledge of music and bands and making me reappraise bands. “rubato – stealing time!” – I’ve now listened to some Chopin but not sure if I’m hearing it but the comments on YT are instructive! “too much rubato!” “Chopin hated rubato!” “ah beautiful…[Read more]

@TheKrynoidMan

Actually, I don’t disagree with anything you say. And I can understand your perspective. A lot does depend on comparisions and context, and I too, felt that Cec Linder did not quite strike the right note in his portralyal of Roney.

But watching episode one again over on the other thread, I actually felt I may have been a little…[Read more]

@purofilion It’s @TheKrynoidMan

Oh, goodness, so much fun. Where to start?

@FatManInABox   Well played. Not just the lyrics, but the whole feeling of the music is very River!

@TheKrynoidMan   Love the Yardbirds. When I was young, I wanted to grow up to be a hippie.  🙂  I am still a very retro tree.

@purofilion    Yes, the Byrds! I actually have one of theirs to post, wh…[Read more]

hey @fatmaninabox – a brilliant Companion song!

“…My body may die but my heart will keep loving you baby
Oh, our love will survive the passing of time…”

(weird lyrics for the TV show though! But great to hear a bit of Jarvis again – will have to relisten on something better than crappy PC speakers!)

And @theKrynoidman (puro – no gaps!)…[Read more]

@TheKrynoidMan

No, not badly directed, but, in my opinion, rather poorly directed by an otherwise good director, who had done some exceptional work. You only have to compare the way he directed “A Night to Remember”, which is a film of tremendous emotional impact, or “The October Man”, shot on a small budget, but which captures a sense of…[Read more]

@thekrynoidman – I have that feeling about Capaldi as well.  He’s a superb actor, a massive fan, and he’s got some pretty good writing talent behind the scripts.  I may criticise Steven Moffat for being a bit over-ambitious at times (The Time of the Doctor suffered a tad from that in my opinion) but I general I like what he does with the show.  I’…[Read more]

@thekrynoidman – ‘The Dalek Invasion of Earth’ makes me cry at the end… its done really well that scene…

I love both the Third and Fourth Doctors too, but as I have stated before I like all the Doctors. Capaldi is going to be a great Doctor, I just know it. I doubt my favourite being the First will change any time soon though.

@TheKrynoidMan – Thank you!  I will most definitely be watching the Classic Who as well. If they were more easily accessible, I’d probably watch them first but NuWho is on Netflix almost in it’s entirety so, for obvious reasons, I’m mostly watching those 🙂

@thekrynoidman – That bothers me too, its fine if they have tried to watch it and just can’t get into it (and hopefully acknowledge its canon) but if they just ignore the Classic Series… yes that is rather annoying!  But I don’t want to start ranting right now…

@ellixin – Welcome! I’m sure any references you make here will be understood, hah.

@thekrynoidman It certainly does!! I keep forgetting about the the later McCoy stories!! I’m firmly stuck in the Barry Letts/Philip Hinchcliffe era 🙂

Could use The Horror of Fang Rock as well, although I’m being swayed more by the atmosphere than the content!

@thekrynoidman

Ghost Light! Awesome!!

I did initially consider that but couldn’t remember if the sci-fi element overshadowed any supernatural. Either way there IS a supernatural aspect to it so it needs to be considered

Haven’t seen it for years so another one to re-watch 🙂

<<<shaking leftover streamers and confetti and *someone’s glitter* off my roof>>>

Hello, one and all.

@TheKrynoidMan – rehearsals started before the Christmas Break, filming starts in January after everyone gets back.

@TheKrynoidMan

I don’t know the answer to that but I understand Dr Who returns autumn 2014 :/

In the mean time having a day on Watch with Matt

@nonameface

As @TheKrynoidman said, it’s Angels Take Manhatten. I do hope we’re not giving you an unfair advantage in any competition. 😉

SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER...

@TheKrynoidMan

the TV movie has always been canon

Er… I think you might find that’s rather open to discussion. As is the canonicity of some of the things that are said in it 😉  (In fact you could probably apply “open for discussion” to all of the last 50 years, haha)

Nice new avatar btw

And thanks for the vid link @Craig

@Craig @Shazzbot @JimtheFish @Phaseshift

We seem to have a possible Zygon problem with @TheKrynoidMan – or maybe he’s a claricle – replicated over all of time and space. (Sorry,  just reporting multiple repeat posting – am assuming accidental)

(Phaseshift and @Wolfweed – this site was left in your supposedly capable hands for a night – and you…[Read more]
