@jimthefish Moffat does like time travel. I think this is great for him and fans of the book and his work. I liked the book but I didn’t love the book. I expect with the Moff at the wheel it will be very good.

@pedant We are lucky to live on a creek with miles of swamp and marshland around us. These wetlands are so important as a nursery for so many birds, mammals and aquatic animals. We even have a family of river otters.
Glad you liked the name.My husband came up with it, just with his brain as I told my granddaughter.( he is computer free) I did s…[Read more]

@everyone Last Thursday I was at my son’s when his boxer named Ruby had 10 yes 10 puppies. That was a pile of pups. My granddaughters head almost exploded in excitement. Her awwwwws got so high pitched my ears hurt. But all are well and mom is a real champ!
Anyway they all needed to be named for the vet and their records so my son thought he w…[Read more]

@pedant The ospreys that fish our creek and pond did nest on an old radio tower across the highway from the water for a year but it was dangerous for them because they sometimes barely cleared the cars and trucks while flying across. A new platform was built for them before they came back in the spring and the old nest and tower were taken down.…[Read more]

@pedant Thank you for sharing that with me. It is so nice to see the ospreys doing so well and learning to fly. I like the structures built along side the nest like a couple of old trees. Are they put there to help the young learn to fly? Or maybe just more leg /wing room? Those birds have a beautiful view and the one you give us from the tower…[Read more]

@janetteb and @blenkinsopthebrave First to my fellow Canucks “Happy Canada Day!”
I loved the original Star Trek when I was young. I joke that I learned everything I needed to know
about life from Star Trek. Life lessons like “the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few” and that cruelty and injustice should be fought against. I le…[Read more]

@pedant and @ichabod I agree that people and animals today are already suffering from the effects of climate change all over the world. Hotter summers every year along with the smog alerts that go hand in hand with forest fires and massive heat related tornadoes. Our far north Inuit towns losing feet of shore line to rising sea levels, and…[Read more]

@ichabod First let me congratulate you and your grandson and his new wife. They sound like wise young people with brilliant futures. Secondly , I want to say I agree with your posts and I also have a big stake in the game. My granddaughters and grandsons as well as all the children on this planet deserve better than what we are leaving them and…[Read more]

@ichabod I always understood how some felt about the gender change of our Doctor and I felt /feel some of it too. Also I worry that there are many people who will not even give her a chance and that is sad. I just think about all those past Doctors and their memories ( including Clara) being part of this new regeneration. It will be fun…[Read more]

@ichabod I have to agree that with you about the culottes. I didn’t like them the first time around but thats just me. I also wonder how the whole”female” time lord thing will be dealt with. She can’t just ignore it but we don’t want it to become the whole story, just like being a female is not my whole story.
When Matt Smith first took the r…[Read more]

@janetteb I have one of those lists. It gets longer instead of shorter no matter how many items I cross off it. I wish I had a grandma cave all my own so I could geek out with Tardis blue walls and Who stuff everywhere but I settle for a little corner and my new shelf to feed my inner nerd.

@thane16 Hello Puro ! Things here are good. Although we are still in spring we are having an early heat wave with temps of 30C. the last couple of days. I think it will be a hot, dry summer with lots of watering to keep the veggies and flowers going. Thankfully we live on a creek and have a pump and lots of rain barrels to save on water from the…[Read more]

@janetteb I am also suffering through this dry time. My withdrawal symptoms include making up my own compilations like all the dalek episodes or all of River Song’s episodes etc. I also made a Tardis shaped shelf , painted it Tardis blue and placed my Who “stuff” on it. Next project is a Tardis for my garden with a solar lantern for the roof and…[Read more]

@everyone Has anyone ever watched the series “The Last Detective” with Peter Davison as Constable Dangerous Davies? I lucked out and found the set of 4 seasons at a second hand shop for just ” 8 of our Canadian dollars” (to misquote @craig) . It is a pretty entertaining tale of a very nice man doing a very tough job. Nice to see the 5th Doctor…[Read more]

@ddoherty95 I think your emoji says 10th Doctor. I love the 10th Doctor and I am a big David Tennant fan too. I hope he replies to you. Thanks for the kind words about my profile pic.
