@jimthefish The Doctor is definitely getting interesting, more edge. The bouncy freshness of her original regeneration feeling the pressure, perhaps, of so much time and memory

.@ollie14, I think so too, but I also agree wit @bluesqueakpip that he’s the timeless child

We now know that the Time Vortex can do one of two things to human style b…[Read more]

  • @ollie14 (sorry for the late reply) The Cyberium is basically a record of the Cybermen’s history.  Apparently because the future Cyberman empire was close to the losing end of the war, it wanted to use the Cyberium to figure out a situation/place in the past to time travel to and change the outcome so that humanity would end up on the losing end…[Read more]

@ollie14 unless the Doctor ignoring Jack and giving the Cyberman what he wanted is what creates the Timeless Child, or the Doctor discovers the only way to fix the mess she has created is to find the Timeless Child? Maybe for a change they won’t ‘reboot the universe’ in the last 5 minutes of the finale and carry forward the story into next season…[Read more]

@ollie14 I don’t entirely get the sense of Yaz and Graham as a potential couple thing. Partly because ‘give me your sister’s number, I’ll be a great brother in law’ is just a really, really weird way to flirt.

as for Yaz’s future, I can’t help wondering if there was another significance to featuring the Judoon. Would becoming a police officer on…[Read more]

Just on the timelines question, yes there is a lot of history here. They are distinct from Alternate Universes in that they exist within our universe as possibilities and can be accessed only by time travel. From one starting point a myriad of possibilities are possible and the Time Lords used to monitor them all looking…[Read more]

@ollie14 is he though? As @bluesqueakpip has pointed out above, hot camp want to kill the doctor Master (she didn’t phrase it like that) is always performing in front of at least one other person. When it’s just the Master and the Doctor it’s more on the lines of ‘how else would I get your attention?’ ‘Gallifry is destroyed’ ‘by the way it was me,…[Read more]

“Twitter” and “multiple timelines” are two words that shouldn’t ever be that close together. Who knows what might happen next?

What do you think caused the “Big Bang” in one of the multiple timelines?

What if this actually isn’t our master at all, but a master from another reality, considering these episodes are clearly about beings from another dimension. The master could just be a front runner leading his army behind him.

  • Miapatrick replied to the topic Spyfall

@ollie14: Missy wasn’t with him all the time, though, so he might remember bits. I think it’s possible, if he is between Simms and Gomez, that he has an extra sense of hostility towards the Doctor but doesn’t quite know why, just running with it. Of course, all this is based on the idea that the Master is being honest with the Doctor in the last…[Read more]

@ollie14   I think the Master did redeem himself in The End of Time by working with the Doctor to send the Timelords back where they belong. In fact he sacrificed himself to save the Doctor and  saved earth at the same time. I suppose he is angry at the Doctor for whatever happened to him back on Gallifrey.Well I guess we have to wait for part 2.

  • @ollie14

That’s exactly how I read it. Testimony seems to have take the choice not to intervene because the change was not their error. Also, given the circumstances, they will quite likely catch up with him soon enough. Although the overall casualty rate in WW1 was about 5%, the rate among junior officers was horrific.

Interesting comments about the First’s *sexist attitudes* (or rather his *sixties attitudes* 😉 ). Should Twelve have commented on it/noticed it? Hmmm… I know if I somehow met up with my younger self several decades later (never mind a couple of millennia later) I would be very likely a bit embarrassed (hopefully combined with a fond tolerance)…[Read more]

If Moff had the extra time, he might have have found a way to do that. In retrospect, I half expected Heather/Bill to rescue them. It strikes me that would be something I would expect Bill would do. That’s what I’ll choose to believe assuming Moff doesnt fix it in the Christmas show (I’ve made an additional point on the spoiler thread,…[Read more]

I think it was accurately over a short distance (the top to bottom of the ship), although it seems care would need to have been taken as the Master used too much welly and blew his dematerialisation circuit.

  • Arbutus replied to the topic The Doctor Falls

@tardigrade       At the very least, Moffat has to leave a window open for the Master’s return, future writers wouldn’t thank him for writing the character out irrevocably (although, as we’ve learned over time, nothing in DW is irrevocable!). I think Missy did hand something off to the Doctor, I wondered at the time what it was.

    I’m hoping that…[Read more]
